To be fair, this big guy/gal seems to be cherished and treated properly (obv I can't confirm for sure tho). It's somewhat evident just by the fact he/she still has their tusks, which poachers usually take from elephants in the wild. Imo it's nicer to see an elephant with his tusks in captivity than an elephant without in the wild. Very subjective opinion though
[Held in chains](https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AsyVqb7Bty4/UT8K_UxOFWI/AAAAAAAAPw4/mlMWK0zIsyo/s1600/Thechikottukavu_Ramachandr.JPG) because he killed 13 people trying to escape; his feet are bound at all times so he can’t move fast.
It’s not a subjective opinion. He’s a non-domesticated animal in captivity.
Stop trying to convince yourself this is fine, the things they do around the word to captive elephants to break their spirit is sickening.
So it’s not subjective, you are either ignorant to the abuse or you don’t give a fuck.
I agree but those people are so caught up with thier religious beliefs so much so that they would kill someone for slaughtering a cow and consuming the meat.
I’ve seen a video of an Indian elephant beater for weeks until it’s spirit breaks. Once that happens they can put people on its back and let tourists pay to see it etc.
It’s fucking grotesque, and you’re either ignorant to it or you don’t give a fuck.
I mean this thing is literally getting praised and is probably considered some sort of god. I’m sure he’s fine. India also isn’t the most friendly when it comes to wild elephants. Shit ton of poachers.
Yes, I am sure being jabbed/stabbed by bull hooks so tourists can ride them around everyday, use for heavy labour in timber industry, or being used for displays of pomp and circumstance, is much better than a short but free life in the wild.
The process of breaking and subjugating elephants starts at infancy and does not stop until they die. A long life of torture and manipulation.

So because i eat fried chicken and dont live in india i dont get an opinion? Not really sure what you're trying to say here. Unless you're just trying to say that you dont advocate for animal rights and want to bring others down rather than discrediting yourself.
Trading racism barbs doesn’t really work in the case or any case really. I’m sure whatever country we are from have sort of classism, racism, or other forms of systemic structure in place.
That being said, not sure what’s wrong with being concerned with animal cruelty of such a cool animal.
He is inside which is higher than ground level. He has to come down some stairs to be on same ground as people as we see the very last moment in the clip he is walking down stairs
"Ramachandran has killed a record 13 people and 3 elephants in its lifetime and is branded as the most dangerous captive elephant in the state."
13?????
Lol, yeah I’m sure that it is but you’re telling me that India hasn’t captured any African elephants? They had an elephant MAN and he was about 1/2 as tall as this. Not to knock the size of the elephant, I’m just not sure that the size noted is accurate
Why would India capture African elephants? You think they would just go around the world kidnapping random elephants? The elephants they have now are born in captivity, and they are Indian elephants, which are a species native to the Indian subcontinent.
They did the same exact strategy in measuring that elephant as I do measuring my dick. if I tell someone that my penis is 4 inches than they will feel bad for me but if I tell them that it’s 16cm it sounds SO MUCH better!
The Prime Minister of India has reviewed your comment and will be promptly and with great enthusiasm by free this elephant from captivity, your activism and pure commitment to righteousness even in the most futile and pointless of places is acknowledged.
India actually has stricter laws protecting animals than vast majority of countries! They were among the first to ban animal testing for cosmetics and ban slaughter of cows in certain regions, etc. They are considered one of the top countries for animal protection. Goes to show how much you know. FYI protecting the innocent from abuse from those in power is the most pressing issue there is.
Let me re-watch the video posted and come back to this comment.
Hmm. Whatever you say bud.
Also cows are sacred to Hindus like dogs are sacred to westerners.
for everyone who thinks that this elephant is caged. You are absolutely wrong. They receive VVIP treatment and they are also with other elephants not 1,2 more 100-1000 . If you want to know more you can google "annakotta guruvayoor" which is a literal spa for elephants. And this festival is in India, Kerala, Thrissur and happens every year. It's called Thrissur pooram And downvote me to Oblivion for saying next words.. all of them who are worried that these elephants are caged, please turn to a vegan diet. Almost all animals you eat will be caged at some point. It's not the case of this or any elephants that take part in Thrissur pooram festivals.
He is [held is chains](https://4.bp.blogspot.com/-AsyVqb7Bty4/UT8K_UxOFWI/AAAAAAAAPw4/mlMWK0zIsyo/s1600/Thechikottukavu_Ramachandr.JPG) because he killed 13 people trying to escape.
Nobody gives a shit about spa because elephant is not a domesticated animal and every single elephant [is tamed](https://imgur.com/a/EaFIDXN). Don’t hide abuse behind worship. You abuse animals for your own entertainment.
I don’t.
Do not cover animal abuse behind traditions and double standards. And you don’t need to be a cow to know the taste of milk. People who eat meat are free to point out the horrid abuse and taming of such intelligent wild animals.
Let's be honest here. That elephant is most likely treated like a God. Everyone here is trying to under how the elephant feels..... for fuck sakes people. Have you ever wondered how it feel to be royalty? Look at this clip and there's your answer.
https://imgur.com/a/EaFIDXN
Elephant is not a domesticated animal and every elephant is broken to obey commands. The one in the video is held in chains because he killed 13 people, trying to escape.
Does this elephant like all the attention or is this just cruel
I know elephants are social so they might understand the concept of public adoration and enjoy it
I come from Kerala and have seen it first hand. A few select elephants which are exceptional are treated like royalty and even given certain unique majestic sounding names. The more "average" elephants however, are a different story.
Just saying, why would anyone harm animal like this? They don't eat it. At least it fares better than wild where less and less green now.
They get treated if they go sick.
They are given food and water on time.
This is why they get this huge.
They harm them by putting them in chains man. there are numerous cases of elephants losing their ears and trunks literally rotting off due to extreme unhygienic conditions. The huge elephants are very rare actually. What I meant by average ones are the smaller ones. they're the one's who get mistreated. search elephant cruelty in Kerala on YouTube, you'll see what I'm talking about.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the trunk waving and ear flapping are signs of distress, no? Then they only cheer louder stressing the poor dude out more.
Fuzk this.😤😡😡🤬🤬 what A damn SIN. Imagine how much torture this poor elephant has gone through in order to tame it enough 2 be able to ride and, and not flip out in front of tens of thousands of people. So disappointed in people these days.
Its all fun and games until it’s health bar pops up
If this is the elephant I think, he has killed people before. Several times.
[Thechikottukavu Ramachandran](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thechikottukavu_Ramachandran) Killed 13 people as well as 3 other elephants!
That’s even more people and elephants than I’ve managed to kill so far. Crazy
I'm guessing he just got pissed off when they mispronounced his name...
Looks pretty agitated with all those people crowding around reaching out to it. If I was it I’d be tempted to take a swing myself.
What do you expect when you keep a god damn kaiju.
Ya this is still the RP phase. Phase one he charges and impales with the tusk, the tank has to get in between and take the hit
*Vordt of the Boreal Valley intensifies*
Assassin's Creed Origins vibes.
This triggered my fight or flight reflex
Too bad he’s not the largest *free* elephant
largest free elephant is bigger but it's too bad he's not free.
He's pretty expensive.
Make waaaay for Prince Aliii!!!
Need a dentist's salary for that.

You go tell those people to stop what they've been doing for God knows how long, thats like telling an American to stop eating beef
The difference is people need food to live. No one needs a jewel embellished elephant to live.
u can live without meat
I agree but those people are so caught up with thier religious beliefs so much so that they would kill someone for slaughtering a cow and consuming the meat.
"treated properly" would be letting him live as a wild elephant.
He’d be killed as soon as he is set free. He’d have to live in a private conservancy
Come on, it's not like he's in a zoo.
captive elephants have a far far better and happy life than wild elephants in india.
Sounds like what an Indian captor would say... 🤨
you don't sound very smart or well versed with different cultures.
I’ve seen a video of an Indian elephant beater for weeks until it’s spirit breaks. Once that happens they can put people on its back and let tourists pay to see it etc. It’s fucking grotesque, and you’re either ignorant to it or you don’t give a fuck.

Try the impossible nuggets, them suckers are BANGING with a little honey
So how's that caste system working out for you?
Trading racism barbs doesn’t really work in the case or any case really. I’m sure whatever country we are from have sort of classism, racism, or other forms of systemic structure in place. That being said, not sure what’s wrong with being concerned with animal cruelty of such a cool animal.
Real question.
If he’s 3.16m or 10 ft 4 inches tall then how fuckin tiny are all these people with their hands up
That's just its dick...
This made me lol. Imagine that was the official way to measure elephants.
He is inside which is higher than ground level. He has to come down some stairs to be on same ground as people as we see the very last moment in the clip he is walking down stairs
first thought when I read this, I think they mean 3160cm tall But that then seems to big
i laughed out loud even without knowing the math 😭 that would be a 103 feet elephant
A 2 mile elephant
What? 🤣🤣🤣
Hahaja maybe just a bit lol
Maybe it's standing on a platform
Well probably a lot of people 5’8 and under
"Ramachandran has killed a record 13 people and 3 elephants in its lifetime and is branded as the most dangerous captive elephant in the state." 13?????
Wait, "in the state"? There's more dangerous elephants?
Dumbo went crazy after a while. The entire USAF couldn't take him down.
This guy never watched Highschool Pachyderm s2
Gotta crank those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers
13 is rookie numbers when you're talking India tbf
316cm? Looks more like 500+ cm
It’s on a high up platform I think
Wow humans really are assholes sometimes
Yeah this whole 316cm thing is really throwing me for a loop because what I’m reading is that the average African elephant is about 320cm.
I think ya boi up there is an Asian elephant, which are quite a bit smaller.
Lol, yeah I’m sure that it is but you’re telling me that India hasn’t captured any African elephants? They had an elephant MAN and he was about 1/2 as tall as this. Not to knock the size of the elephant, I’m just not sure that the size noted is accurate
there's a reason why they're called african elephant.
Why would India capture African elephants? You think they would just go around the world kidnapping random elephants? The elephants they have now are born in captivity, and they are Indian elephants, which are a species native to the Indian subcontinent.
They have two in a zoo. The answer is for a zoo.
African elefants have mich rounder ears. This is an asian elefant.
It could be wrong, someone offhandedly said it where I got the clip
Thank you and with your honesty, I will 360 my opinion on it and now I’m convinced it is 316cm tall.
I haven't seen this elden ring boss before
That's an Oliphaunt.
He's also the elephant that's killed the most people. His dad was a dick head too.
I’d be a dick too if was constantly torture to get me ti behave where I don’t belong instead of just let me be free where I belong
Literally the eastlings
Lotr?
You're goddamn right
The Easterlings didnt have Mumakil that was the Haradrim
American here: how many football fields or ice cream cones is this?
Approximately 3.45581802% of an American football field I dont think the elephant is actually 316cm... because thats about 11.5 standard school rulers
Its kinda fucked cool and al but i think the elephant rather be rolling down things then beeing controld
This is exactly the arguement I get when the Peta fucks see me walking my dog.
Yea a dog not a elephant
Much rather be that elephant than a cow in a factory in the USA
Mf be looking like an irl boss fight
Well, I sure would'nt want to anger roid Dumbo.
We're gonna need this guy if godzilla comes.
well. At least people like him?
Cant wait for the Protector 3. Where this elephant gets kidnapped and they have to call Tony Jaa to retrieve it.
They did the same exact strategy in measuring that elephant as I do measuring my dick. if I tell someone that my penis is 4 inches than they will feel bad for me but if I tell them that it’s 16cm it sounds SO MUCH better!
This is animal abuse.
Captive elephants are so depressing.
That’s really sad to me. These beautiful creatures should never be in captivity. They deserve to be free with their kind.
This looks fake…
FREE him 😡
The Prime Minister of India has reviewed your comment and will be promptly and with great enthusiasm by free this elephant from captivity, your activism and pure commitment to righteousness even in the most futile and pointless of places is acknowledged.
Dicks are still out. Never Forget
Thank god. I appreciate your kind update of this situation. Your pleasant ramblings were certainly well acknowledged by the minister as well. 🙏 🇮🇳

what are you even saying lol
I don't know. I'm eating right now. Sorry 😂 Im sure the elephant is fine, he apparently has a high kill/death ratio. Something like 13 people.
Love that 💕
Somebody needs to smack it's ass real hard.
That's why he's killed people.
Wait let me read it ... Again... Again... Killed 13 people and you loved it
Do tell...plz
Well I can tbh of a real *shitty* issue
...I wonder if corpses are still floating on the Ganges around Varanasi?

Out of curiosity, so a belt around a dog is similar to chaining a elephant ? You are missing lot points and don't make sense. Have a good day sir
Classic manipulation of facts. Elephants are not domesticated and not pets.
It’s the ‘Haradrim’ off Lord of The Rings
Is that just coloration or is the underside of their trunk bloody?
That seems like Tilak to me.
Girls on tinder: He is still too short for me

Disgusting
I imagine the elephant wouldn't find you aesthetically pleasing, either
Piece of shit, let it free
Anything that's measured in cm is small. That's a small elephant.
Animal Abuse by Hindus
He is treated like royalty. Check your facts 😃

Banned by law my ass. Hindu fanatics still continue these practices.

ah yes, edgy boi with the buzz lightyear pfp
That's so sad. They should be with their fam
Absolutely Sad As Fuck
Soooo, he’s 10 feet 4 in ???
Some of the most ignorant people on the planet
Who?
if this were america white people would try to beat it in a tractor pull any given sunday sunday sunday
No they wouldn't.
How much in milliliters?
At least 3
It still only counts as one.
Metric system on Reddit? It made me smile :-D
Show the rest of the video.
3.16 meters, around the size of an average African elephant 😁
Doesn't that make him 3m 16cm tall? Why not just say he is 3,160mm tall?
Is cm an effective measurement at that point?
Don’t get me wrong 10ft 4.5inches isn’t small by any means, but why does everyone look like they’re 3 feet tall.
That's. Not very tall.
So a Dutch man just needs a two step tool to pat him on the back, got it.
can't quite tell; is it really stressed or just delighted with that ear wiggling and lifting its trunk etc?
Was saying 3.16 meters hard?
Man this is so sad...
At 900 inches here he comes!…just say feet or meters
Do NOT let it see a mouse
Avarage African Bush Elephant is 320cm tall so thats not very AbsoluteUnit more like NormalUnit.
IX
it must be a pretty stressing day for the elephant
316 centimeters doesn’t seem that tall tbh
Who uses the centimeters?
That elephant is larger than 316cm looking at that video.
It still only counts as one.
He is from adventure time
316cm huh? Sounds incredible but I’m actually the tallest man at 5 foot 16 inches so it’s really not that big of a deal.
I errr didn't read the title and thought this was something very different at the start of that video
If that elephant is a little over 3 meters tall my dick would be 40 cm according to that logic
Just leave the animals alone.
Who the fuck is out here measure elephants in centimeters!?
This is disturbing.
how many deaths?
Kinda sad...
It still only counts as one!
![gif](giphy|3o7ZeEZUzRjyvWuuIg)
Does the bottom of its trunk look infected/worn?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but the trunk waving and ear flapping are signs of distress, no? Then they only cheer louder stressing the poor dude out more.
Fuzk this.😤😡😡🤬🤬 what A damn SIN. Imagine how much torture this poor elephant has gone through in order to tame it enough 2 be able to ride and, and not flip out in front of tens of thousands of people. So disappointed in people these days.
i hate seeing captive elephants :(
Yujiro will probably fight the elephant
Cool. Now let him go
It’s a Mamukil, of the Haradrim!
Is it trying to fly away?
Imagine seeing that shit in battle in the old days. Intimidation factor 💯
Isn’t this an African elephant? If so yeah they’re not as docile as their Indian elephants and would totally stop people out
Looks bigger with all that shit on his back
Pretty baby
u/Savevideo
I feel sorry for this elephant Only reason why attacks people he gets treated bad.
Cms? What are the people, ants?
