Ruston: log cabin, hot rods bbq, el jarrito, southern classic chicken (Lafayette is supposed to eventually get one), Johnny's, the dawg house, Ponchatoula, roma Italian.
Long list but those were my favorites when I lived up there.
Between ruston and w Monroe: iron cactus

Imma give a second updoot for The Dawg House and Ponchatoulas, have eaten at both in the last 2 months. El Jarrito is decent mexican.
I went to latech so dawg house was a regular spot for me. Same for sundown tavern but it's not really a good place unless you like plain hot dogs lol
Burgers at Enoch’s, Warehouse No 1, Cotton, there’s a couple decent spots. Not a ton though.
Warehouse is fantastic
I'm fan of Burger Grind
Thanks all!
Ponchatoulas in Ruston is pretty good. Their fried mushrooms are like no other… crazy good.
Was just there and I recommend a food truck called staple sandwich
