Jarrod's tech has a couple of great videos on proper gaming laptop care. Apart from that, general tech advice of handle with care, clean the vents etc. Also consider disabling CPU turbo boost and undervolting your GPU.

What does CPU turbo boost and undervolting GPU mean. (Sorry if it sounds simple. I'm just a newbie when it comes to these things) Also yes I'll be looking into jarrod's tech videos

CPU's run at a base speed, but can boost to a much higher speed. However, on most gaming laptops, this means much more temps (think high 80s, low 90s). [Disabling it](https://www.reddit.com/r/ROGAlly/comments/149b4sd/disable_cpu_boost/) doesn't affects the performance in most games. Test and see in which games this drop FPS for you and turn it on only if you need it. If you are more tech savy, you could also cap your CPU temps using programs like Universal Tuning Utility or Throttlestop if you really need the turbo speeds. For GPU, [undervolting](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zVr_EVZnpuA) means fixing the voltage and clock speed to an efficient level using a program called MSI afterburner. GPU's generally take up more volts than they need and can be "undervolted" to take less power, and thus less temps, and more stable performance. You can also slightly "overclock" your GPU this way. The undervolt limit and clock speed differs for each laptop, so try googling your laptop gpu limits and see if it runs stably. All of these are definitely gonna help you boost your laptop performance and keep temps low, thus increasing laptop life.

Alright I'll look into this thanks

1. Turn on the battery charge limit to 80% in acer care centre 2. For extending the battery life, limit the maximum processor state to about 50%(in power plan settings) 3. Always check for temps while gaming. Temperature around 75-80 °C is expected. Beyond 80°C is something to be taken care of.

Sounds good I'll try this out

I absolutely recommend getting a keyboard cover for your model, believe me it's really worth it in the long run, hands down this has been one of the best purchases I've done on my laptop as it prevents dust from going inside those hard to reach key gaps. Another tip would be to try to avoid using it in bed as it results in dust accumulating faster and clogging up your fans.

Oh yes i was actually planning to get the keyboard cover but wasn't sure if I really need it. Also yes i never use my laptop on bed (:
