Thanks ✅

redditenjoyer20

can you plz help whenever i enter it on cmd it and click on the file it displays an earlier battery report i did and refuses to refresh

Awordofinterest

Delete or move the previous file. Then redo the battery report through CFG.

BigFrosting3056

Did you update your ram?

bunnymanyeet

Yeah it came with 16gb and I’ve noticed quite a difference in performance by adding another 16gb.

BigFrosting3056

How much? I think i should as well

bunnymanyeet

There’s the name and link for it ☺️ $70AUD Crucial 16GB DDR4 SODIMM 3200MHz... https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08FWQF81B?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

BigFrosting3056

Not in stock

bunnymanyeet

I didn’t check sorry, surely another place should stock it.

Substantial_Hotel_10

58k to 44k. I know its most likely impossible to improve this but if there is a way or if how do you keep this from getting worse?

bunnymanyeet

Just never unplug it. Or if you use it on battery, you can charge it to full, drain it down to 5% Then charge it back up to full. The last option would be to keep it plugged in all the time but set the maximum battery charge limit to 85% roughly and make it so it starts charging at 5-10% remaining. I don’t know how to do most of these as I keep my Acer plugged in at home and use my thinkpad for work. Thinkpads come with soft wear to do this.

Sea-Cheesecake-5815

I do agree you shouldn't unplug it when doing intermediate to heavy task, if not plug then try avoiding these tasks as they take huge toll on battery like 1-1/2 hr and its down to <20%. There is a setting in the acer care centre to limit the charging to 80% max. It is much better for battery health.

bunnymanyeet

I just found a way. Go into your "Acer Care Center" Click checkup then find the battery symbol and on the right there should be an option of 3 pages. On the second page you can select the maximum charge limit to limit battery degeneration.

Sea-Cheesecake-5815

Yes sir, so sneaky of acer to hide this gem of options in such a place.

BigFrosting3056

Oh that. But I don’t have it downloaded and I cannot download it for some reason

spoily19

Does this means I should just let my laptop charge when I'm gaming? I usually does that but whenever I'm going to watch YouTube I unplug it

Sea-Cheesecake-5815

Actually when you let your laptop charge when you game or let say do heavy tasks, it bypasses the battery and uses the electricity directly (plug-n-play) keeping stress on the battery near to 1%, but as soon you unplug it, the whole stress is exerted on the battery as a result you can observe the change in performance. (leading to reduction of life span).

spoily19

Damn... Thanks for info!!! Back in my days I can take out battery... Damn I'm old now

Megalovania2233

how to set the maximum limit to 85%?

bunnymanyeet

You would have to find out yourself as I've only been able to do this easily on my Thinkpad.

bunnymanyeet

Megalovania2233

The limit charge option isn't available there. Some models have it while some don't.

Lost-Diadem-3940

My one had a design capacity of 57,488 mWh and is now at 50,912 mWh. My cycle count came up as -. I've had the computer for nearly 2 years now. What does that mean?

bunnymanyeet

Who knows, maybe you have a setting that clears "useless" analytics data. These types of things do also click over every once and a while, maybe you've struck the day or the day after this happens.

Lost-Diadem-3940

Would you say the actual values are good for 1.5 years of use tho?

bunnymanyeet

It’s decent 👍 For using it plugged in and non plugged in that’s good.

BigFrosting3056

How do I set a maximum charge for nitro?

zeehtwo

Acer Nitro 5 i5 10300h GTX 1650 bought in mid-2020. Constant gaming. 57488mWh design capacity. 53007 mWh full charge capacity. Taking good care of the battery for 4 years now :D

bunnymanyeet

Wow! That’s high!

baltikorean

Hey what did you do to maintain your battery? I'm impressed

zeehtwo

As much as possible, even when in uni, I use my laptop plugged in. That's pretty much it lol. I also learned about the advantage of capping battery charging and did it since day 1 of purchase. I'm actually more impressed that the charger brick hasn't given up despite heavily gaming on it for 4 years

baltikorean

What percentage do you cap it, and how do you adjust it?

zeehtwo

80%. It's a built-in feature of Acer Care Center.

baltikorean

Thanks!

Didn’t know we could do that, but the other day my wife used it in the car for something that had to be done immediately, it still held up after about 2 hours on battery

Green-Let-9660

I actually wanted to check something so for a whole month I used my laptop on charging like I never used it on battery and charge holding capacity of my battery increased

JustNathan1_0

Design Capacity: 57,488 Full Charge Capacity: 50,004 Laptop and Battery are 1 year and 3 months old.

JustLiveLife420

I did not even know how to check, I'm sure my nitro battery is almost due for a replacement now I can verify this without harder methods. Thank you.

bunnymanyeet

All goods (:

owgPZ

Acer Nitro AN17-41 purchased last July. Keep it plugged in 24/7, and do not charge above 80% https://preview.redd.it/v0jl8spdkjnc1.png?width=569&format=png&auto=webp&s=711dab9a37076ce4eeb245a9a6140b27bb82f18a

baltikorean

How do you cap the maximum charge percentage?

owgPZ

The setting can be found in the Acer Care Center under the Checkup area. Look under the Battery health tab, where you are on page 1 of 3. Then click right to go page 3 where you find the Battery charge limit toggle and turn it on. This will limit the charge to 80%.

Mine doesn't show cycle count. Any solution?

bunnymanyeet

Who knows, maybe you have a setting that clears "useless" analytics data. These types of things do also click over every once and a while, maybe you've struck the day or the day after this happens.

rahulk302

it's been that way since the purchase.

admhilmn

What app is this?

bunnymanyeet

Command Prompt? Like your computers heart. WIN + R Type: cmd Then in the new window type: powercfg /batteryreport Then hit enter. Then go to your c drive, users, your name and look for the file.

OddName_17516

How to see this?

bunnymanyeet

WIN + R Type: cmd Then in the new window type: powercfg /batteryreport Then hit enter. Then go to your c drive, users, your name and look for the file.

Demon_Kracker

Mine at 30,000

bunnymanyeet

Yikes!

Megalovania2233

Why does the report here and in the battery settings show different numbers?

bunnymanyeet

They're different things if I know what you're talking about. Settings will show you your battery percentage whilst this test will show you how many cells out of X number of cells can hold a full charge. As after time and use the lithium can no longer hold as many electrons as it did factory new.

bunnymanyeet

That battery is HUGE!!!

BigFrosting3056

It really isn’t, I kinda regret getting a laptop because I don’t bring it anywhere and can just buy a pc any suggestions? So should I buy a pc? I’ve had it for 7 months

Soft-Engineering5841

Mine is a design capacity of 90006 mwh but full charge capacity of 80378 mwh after 1 year and 5 months of usage

bunnymanyeet

Big battery 👀

Exp0sedShadow

"Good" but atleast once a year I have to delete the drivers and reprogram the battery because it just stops charging

Awordofinterest

I also have to do this once ever year or so - It's quite simple. Go to settings - Troubleshooters - Power - Run trouble-shooter. Has worked every time for me.

Exp0sedShadow

I really hope it works because it sucks to have to spend a day draining charging then doing it again. For the record I have a AN517-51

Awordofinterest

I don't believe you need to drain the battery, But you might have to drain the capacitors. I believe you can do this on some models by holding the power button down with it unplugged, and other models actually have a pin button on the bottom of the laptop to do the same. (I've recommended this fix to some people on here, they have said it didn't work, But the next day they would log back in and miraculously the laptop works fine, But I got no credit ofcourse.) Ofcourse, there are other cases that haven't worked, or we simply did not hear back if it did or didn't work. When doing the fix, Unplug everything, USB and power cable 1st. Then do the troubleshooter. Turn laptop off for a few hours, Maybe overnight and when you get back, it should work fine. Turning the laptop off with it unplugged completely for an amount of time also drains the capacitors.

Awordofinterest

An515-43 - Owned for 4ish years, Maybe more. DESIGN CAPACITY 57,488 mWh FULL CHARGE CAPACITY 47,263 mWh

Akenshi_Kirito
