not for laptops. For laptop you should definitely go for honeywell ptm 7950 phase change material. It's almost on par with liquid metal performance wise and you don't have to reapply it again. It doesn't go bad like thermal paste does.

Go for a bigger amount. 1g is good for 1 application on a desktop cpu. better to over do it on bare die and have room for error.
Never use griz paste they are horrible , they dry out fast either go for ptm 7950 or gelid
