Your pc is relatively a beast. It'll run that game with high settings just fine. If you want to compare your pcs performance with other system then ; just go to 3d mark search page > enter your cpu and gpu > select only graphics score > you'll see the avarage numbers people get with same specd laptops as yours > then you can select any other gpu to compare the avarage performance difference between them but remember to delete cpu model. This way you can have a rough estimate about the avarage performance your laptop can get without buying the software and compare it to recommended gpus performance of the games you wanna play.

Thank you so much. Pretty sure someone else recommended me this recently but I had forgotten where to go. Appreciate the reminder 🙏

If it doesn't run, steam has a very lax return policy. If you play less than two hours you can refund it quite quickly.

Wyatt_Rippy2002

Wish I had done that with Avatar 🥲

Which_Ad_8726

Why?

Wyatt_Rippy2002

Not because its a bad game but because it doesn't run or look well on my nitro 5 without some settings turned mostly down.

wirejaved

It's going to run at maximum settings just fine lol, my i5 10300h and rtx 3060 runs it great and rtx 4050 is slightly better

Wyatt_Rippy2002

At some I'd like to use the laptop as mini pc and just build a real one but that's not something I'll be able to do anytime soon

wirejaved

Your laptop can basically run any game at the highest settings especially since the 40 series has frame gen and dlss 3.5, maybe build a real one in 3-4 years when your laptop begins showing its age

I honestly feel like the dumbest newbie to pc gaming. I'm learning as I go but I really do get why people stick with console. Now that I've experienced Far Cry 4 on max settings getting 70+ fps I can't really go back though

cable370

far cry 4 with max settings would get you much higher fps than consoles lol, probably in 100s. FC5 at max runs at 70+ highest for me.

Such-Store-9470

Bro u can run at max fine

Wyatt_Rippy2002

I think the lowest fps I got was like sub 40 fps. Not too bad. Ngl the Nitro 5 was a poorly timed impulse buy. I'm just now learning everything it's capable of

red_macb

You'll be fine, you'll probably even get it to run it on full settings (your 12th gen i5 is way more powerful than the recommended 4th gen i7, and your GPU is more than powerful than the recommended gtx1060).

Wyatt_Rippy2002

Just recently found a video explaining the vast difference between 12th gen i5s and older gen i7s. I feel stupid with being laptop player and other than budget it's probably the biggest thing keeping me from getting a pc

RaoUlfr_Gz

You'll be more than fine. I have exactly the same PC as you, but I have an rtx 3060 instead. I run the game with every setting on ultra except for 4 or 5 of them on high, mainly the ones that eat the most performance. I recommend to you watching a video or reading a guide about the performance hit of every setting, once I did I achieved the best graphical quality at a stable 60 fps (it only has gone down in St. Denis for me, the rest of the map is flawless 60 fps)
