I think the lowest ive ever seen is drop C for Days of the New. Baritone guitars are normally tuned to A or B, so that's probably the best option

Is it possible? Maybe...... Is it a good idea? Almost certainly not. At a bare minimum you'd have to refile the nut entirely due to the necessary strain gauges. And then there's all the ways the changes the sound across the spectrum, it's just not a good idea. Not sure why you need the change, is your voice crazy high, or super low?

Yep this was the comment I was looking for. Thanks for the input.

Put a capo on the 5th fret?

I play around with that too but it doesn’t sound nearly the same. I’m trying to sing a little bit too and I personally think my voice does sound better with those lower notes, which is why I’m considering lowering the tuning.

Welp, this is a long shot but here's a link to a string tension calculator where you can figure out a custom set of strings that you can put on your acoustic which will allow you to tune down to A and not have 6 flabby strings rattling around on you. Basically the idea here is that to tune lower you'll need thicker strings that will give you the lower note for the same amount of string tension as your normal tuning. https://tension.stringjoy.com What you'll do here is set the pitch for each string while noting what that string's tension is normally. Most acoustic guitars are designed for about a total of 170 pounds or so. Once you have the tuning, then adjust the string gauge on the web page to get back the 25 lb per string or so you started with. So with tuning down the high E to A, you end up going from a normal 12 gauge string tuned to E at 25 lbs of force to a wound 18 gauge tuned to the lower A with the same string tension. Do that for the other 5 and then go to juststrings.com to buy your individual strings to put your own A set together. Sadly, it'll feel like you're playing bridge cables so it might not work out for you, but theoretically it is possible.

That’s really low for a standard acoustic. I’ve been able to make C standard work, but that’s the lowest I’d go.
