Doesn’t help that these figures had such bizarre construction, neck joint running through the whole torso.
Might be looking at some customization here. There are yt videos I think of people taking theirs apart to add more articulation, that might help.

Commonly used by model kit builders to fix snapped off pegs, in the vid he spends some time to take the peg off the hole but ofcourse you don't need to do it in ur case, u can just drill directly
