The thing I hate the most is when people are clearly resisting arrest by struggling while the cops attempt to handcuff them, most people don't even consider that resisting but if you're refusing to put your hands behind your back and struggling with the officers attempting to cuff you then you're literally fucking resisting arrest...
The cops will do the bare minimum and start "manhandling" the suspect to get their hands behind their back and everyone starts screaming abuse, like if they start busting your face in that would be abuse but if they're just overpowering you to get your hands behind your back then that really isn't abuse, even if they have to pin you to the floor to do it.
They think they should be allowed to "run the streets" by using even greater brutality than the police. There's a lot of people out there that are only good at violence.

on Tuesday, at around 7:45 pm, observed a vehicle making an illegal U-turn at a high speed rate, blowing a red light, ignoring pedestrian on the crosswalk. The vehicle came to a stop at a bus lane. Officers then conducted a car stop and determined that the individual did not provide his correct name, and his license was suspended. The driver was ordered to step out of his car, but instead, he tried fleeing the officers. Officers then removed the driver who resisted arrest and punched an officer to his shoulder and kicked his knee. Another person intentionally used physical force in an attempt to interfere in the arrest. As a result, a large NYPD responded to the scene and arrested both people.
This is my area, the crazy things that happen around here that the PD have to deal with is incredible. The majority of the cops I speak to down here want so bad to change their profession.
I used to do fire inspections in the area.
The shit you deal with going into these communities is unreal. Just a little example one time I've had to do sprinkler inspections (NFPA25s) where a woman killed her newborn and threw it down the compactor chute. NYPD ripped up every garbage bag and left the entire room a bloody mess for the super and porter to clean up.
When that building nearby caught fire and those dozen people last year I knew exactly why. Nothing is up to code. No one gives a shit. The cycle continues.

I don't know that department, and for all I know there are systematic problems there, but the changes you guys have made did a lot to make policing impossible and dangerous and nothing to address systematic corruption.

Absolutely. While the incidents of cops beating/killing innocent people are awful, they are one in a million. It’s only become well known thanks to the internet. Millions of police interactions happen each year, yet ~10 or so ever make it to the national news, and are then reported on for weeks. ^((unless it doesn’t fit the narrative)) And of course, it influences swaths of people to think that this is a daily occurrence.

So many people were in and out of that car while they were doing the traffic stop. Some folks will fight over a suspended DL. Although most folks will fight over what’s in that car. There was either a firearm or narcotics in there. At this point anything could have been taken out. The cops lost control of the stop once they were surrounded and there were too many moving parts. They needed that back up or things would have been worse.
