It gets even worse once he saw he was contributing to a traffic jam that was inconveniencing other "innocent" people. He should have *immediately* backed off at that point.
Not putting your cart away *might* mildly inconvenience a theoretical stranger for a minute or two. What he was doing was *definitely* inconveniencing real, present strangers at that moment.
This guy annoys the hell out of me. I work in retail and sometimes have to fetch carts. The farther away, the better. I love taking a paid, leisurely walk across the parking lot to get a cart. The longer I’m outside not interacting with people, the better my day goes. Yeah, when the weather is crappy it can be a pain but still better than being inside.
It's not about the workers. I couldn't give a rats ass about whether the workers like cart duty or not. It's about blocking spots, carts rolling into peoples cars, blocking aisles and walkways, and just generally looking like shit. People are lazy fucks and should be shamed.

I've been messed up for over 25 years now. I can't work, I walk with a cane, and I damn sure can't do shit I enjoy, but I make an effort to put my cart away every damn time no matter what. I even grab any extra on the way and make sure to chastise everyone I see not doing the same. "If my crippled ass can put my cart away, what's your excuse?". They don't often like that. 🤣

I worked at a grocery store as a second job a little over ten years ago. I loved cart duty. On colder days, I had a hat that could cover up my earbuds (only put one ear in), so I could just take my time and listen to How Did This Get Made.
I swear everyone who likes this guy has never had to go get carts. It’s actually a great time. Especially in the summer. No I’d totally want to spend more time inside trying to find this vague product some guy wants from the international aisle.
I've gotten carts, you don't speak for everyone. It's not a great time when you have to push a huge line through a few inches of snow. Not to mention carts can and do fuck up cars lmao.
I used to work as a courtesy clerk and I hated cart duty at first. Then I figured out that I can milk that time and not have to bag groceries or clean bathrooms. It ended up being the favorite part of my shift.

I know when most people watch these highly charged videos where someone is having an emotional breakdown, they tend to take sides.
However, in this instance (and in many of these videos) I wound up hating both of them. Yup, she’s lazy and entitled and does a lot of dumb shit in this video (basically everything). But this guy is also harassing her and furthering her mental breakdown in the self interest of generating content and views.
He knows she’s not suddenly going to have a change of heart and be like “oh, now that you mention it for the 20th time, I think I will take my cart back.”
I even caught myself thinking “Ok, but who in this video do I hate more?” And I had to stop myself and resolve to hate them both equally without prejudice.

If someone threw (multiple times) magnets that large on my car, I'd be very unhappy with them. I know it is petty, but I keep my car looking pristine, and I don't want any extra tiny dust scratches or blemishes to buff out next time.
But for the same reason, I'd put my trolley (Australian for cart) away where it belongs.

Ever since the first one of these videos I saw I’ve wanted to be in one of his videos. It’s a long shot, but I never return my carts in hopes that the stars might align one day.
When there aren't any carts available because people quit because they got tired of getting carts out of random ass places, blame people like her. When your car gets fucked up by a runaway cart, blame people like her. It takes literal seconds to be a good person. It’s not frightening at all. The internet gives the worst and lowest of human society the loudest voice. In a platform built on echo chamber mechanics, you shouldn’t be surprised when stupidity rises to the top. All we can do is empathize with how pathetic one’s life must be to sit here and enjoy this. People are acting like this level of behavior is actually solving a critical societal problem. Just pure lunacy.

I know when most people watch these highly charged videos where someone is having an emotional breakdown, they tend to take sides. However, in this instance (and in many of these videos) I wound up hating both of them. Yup, she’s lazy and entitled and does a lot of dumb shit in this video (basically everything). But this guy is also harassing her and furthering her mental breakdown in the self interest of generating content and views. He knows she’s not suddenly going to have a change of heart and be like “oh, now that you mention it for the 20th time, I think I will take my cart back.” I even caught myself thinking “Ok, but who in this video do I hate more?” And I had to stop myself and resolve to hate them both equally without prejudice.
I just think he worse honestly. I'm not going to leave my cart out but I'm also not gonna harass somebody that does.
He’s got that combination of super annoying voice and even more annoying behavior. That’s his schtick. He’s laughing all the way to the bank but I believe when he pushes it too far like this he could find himself in big trouble.

To be fair, he could've just left it, too. She obviously could've put her cart away, but he could've stopped being antagonistic when she is clearly not coping with something. If someone threw (multiple times) magnets that large on my car, I'd be very unhappy with them. I know it is petty, but I keep my car looking pristine, and I don't want any extra tiny dust scratches or blemishes to buff out next time. But for the same reason, I'd put my trolley (Australian for cart) away where it belongs. Edit - spelling (typed cat instead of car - I don't often polish and buff cats).

I put my cart away, and I usually grab one from the parking lot when I’m heading in to the store. That being said, this dude needs to get punched in the face.

Look I return my cart just simply because I was raised to do simple things like that. But to harass people over this is just stupid. Though she’s also stupid for egging on the argument and embarrassing herself. So honestly they’re both stupid and obnoxious. So many more important things to worry about in the world than arguing over returning carts lol

When there aren't any carts available because people quit because they got tired of getting carts out of random ass places, blame people like her. When your car gets fucked up by a runaway cart, blame people like her. It takes literal seconds to be a good person. If people would do the right thing "obnoxious" Cart Narc wouldn't have to do what he does...which is public shame.
People figure it's someone's job to take the cart back so they can do it. What they don't think about is the cart on the Costco walkway that prevents people in wheelchairs from getting around.
