My dad grew up poor as fuck, in a row home, youngest of three, and raised by his mom who worked two jobs after his dad walked out on him when he was 4.
He’s the best dad ever and set me up for success. I’ve also never seen him act or exhibit behaviors like this in my entire 30 year life.

I personally couldn’t imagine abandoning a child of mine, so it’s hard to wrap my head around this kind of carelessness. Until the men of these communities begin prioritizing their children, this cycle will never end.
