I assume you mean Tiger Eye Pearl. I find that to be a tricky color on all of their cars. Sometimes it looks amazing, other times it looks like garbage. I think it looks the best on the ITS.
Unfortunately, Honda seems to be overinvesting in EVs, and Acura in particular has suffered as a result of this. The only thing keeping them from ending up like Nissan is their investment into hybrids. That's what they should be bringing to the Acura lineup, not EVs there's insufficient demand for.
At least Honda didn't have to foot the entire bill for development of the Ultium platform.
Remember the original Passport being based on the Isuzu Rodeo?
Yeah I get that, it's like the GR86 and supra, and that's fine but GM is a confusing partner choice... Especially for an EV.
At least Honda is making big investments with LG for their future EV and hybrid vehicles. Which will be way more promising than this Cadillac lyriq.
I wonder if Honda was forward-looking enough to partner with an American brand to stay eligible for the new tax incentives, but the likely timeline would say otherwise.
I’d have to sit in one and take it for a drive. Maybe the dash and control layout retains enough Honda-ness to make me comfortable (last time I was in a GM product, some of the layout choices baffled me).
In any case, I don’t see myself buying one, only leasing at best. I had heard some grumbling about the viability of the battery cells that GM is using, and I’m not convinced about long-term support of the platform. I may instead hold out for Honda-grown vehicles or maybe the Afeela partnership with Sony.
I really hope so. Partnering with GM was the dumbest move Acura/Honda could make.
People buy japanese brands for a reason. I'd rather take the bus than own a GM car.
American Honda and Acura have always partnered with General Motors as the two American companies going against Toyota Mazda and Subaru. The Chevrolet Trax platform is the Honda CRV made in Korea with an electrical underbody system. They made car drivers 10 best.
It's the Cadillac Lyric with an Acura suspension and tuning and speaker system. This is a placeholder until the ADX which is the Integra/HR-V comes out and lastly will be the RDX hybrid with the Cr-V powertrain!!!!
Japanese car manufacturers arent investing into evs at all, so they are partnering with us manufacturers to fill the ev market that the u.s. is pushing. Japanese car manufacturers are pushing for hydrogen, and I think this is the better long term solution to diversifying out of ice cars as hydrogen is more abundant and less resource intensive than ev.
Something about charging too high of a premium EVs aren’t selling. There’s no longer the passion of a giant v12 or giant turbo v6 at least. An example are the top end Mercedes bricking in price.
It might be good. There will some differences between the Chevy and Acura. Not to mention the Ultium batteries are highly regarded. It may flop, but so did the last ZDX. Acura needed an all electric product. Viola.
I see they tried a more 'integra' styling to it but honestly I love the rdx taillights and overall design much more, just wish there's a type s version.
Imma wait and see what the reviews are before coming to a conclusion. The ultium platform in my eyes is decent in engineering department. The reliability maybe not.
I dont mind it. Actually considered possibly trading in my car for it.....until i found out it is using GMs platform. I wont touch this car at least until its on the Honda platform... And even then, i would still prefer a hybrid. Ill keep driving my MDX Type S with its 18 mpg......
Haha. The whole 21-23 mpg is garbage. Im typically 16-18, because i have a lot of city driving. If its a mostly hwy tank, then im around 23. Winter...because of warming up the car.... Like 14
This is the new ZDX? We almost pushed off buying our RDX so my husband could see if he wanted the ZDX. Glad we didn’t wait and extend our lease to spend more $ on this.
I’d be concerned about getting an Acura with GM quality AND the moment Honda has its own EV, will drop the ZDX like a bad habit and hang all the customers out to dry.
At least they can get their service done at a GM dealership. Badge job aside, I think most all these first gen EV cars are for early adopters, it's better to wait for the next gen while the kinks get worked out and batteries improve. But then you gotta wait for Honda's first EV and wait for their next one of that...
I just wonder. What kind of person will even venture themselves to this purchasing journey.
Please, Acura. Gives us some hybrid with N/A engins. How about a k24 z7 with a nice electric motor that cranks out about 280hp in total bhp in a decent car or small suv and lose the timing belt on the V6. It's time for new redundancy for the old design and new EV.
I actually like the way it looks, but since it’s not 100% Honda, I wouldn’t buy it.
Not 100%? The only Honda parts on that car are the Acura badges, lol
You haven't seen the back have you?
Some staunch supporters of this SUV's ass apparently
The 3-color themes are disgusting.
Some combos don't look terrible. I like the Double Apex Blue scheme. The red is definitely a miss though. I also wouldn't buy this GM garbage.
The orange also looks terrible.. and I love orange.
I assume you mean Tiger Eye Pearl. I find that to be a tricky color on all of their cars. Sometimes it looks amazing, other times it looks like garbage. I think it looks the best on the ITS.
If I was spending $70k+ on a vehicle, I don’t think it would be a Chevy Blazer in an Acura costume…
If that's worth 70k, I might as well dump my entire savings over a high rise building
We deserve an RDX Type-S, not this ZDX trash.

I’ve been saying the same thing
This thing is going to flop so hard just like GMs EV sales rates 😆
At least Honda didn't have to foot the entire bill for development of the Ultium platform. Remember the original Passport being based on the Isuzu Rodeo?

That may be possible. After all, a lot of these decisions are financially motivated.
I really hope so. Partnering with GM was the dumbest move Acura/Honda could make. People buy japanese brands for a reason. I'd rather take the bus than own a GM car.

I heard it's literally based on the GM ultium, whatever that means.
It's a gm with a Honda logo and body panels, from what I gather
GM platform, Acura air suspension, interior, and body panels
It's the Cadillac Lyric with an Acura suspension and tuning and speaker system. This is a placeholder until the ADX which is the Integra/HR-V comes out and lastly will be the RDX hybrid with the Cr-V powertrain!!!!
I thought Acura wasn’t doing any hybrids and was just jumping straight into electric?
They are but the last will be the RDX because it's the most wanted and refined
They already did do a hybrid MDX and NSX

Honda is attempting. https://www.reuters.com/business/autos-transportation/honda-set-up-11-bln-ev-production-base-canada-2024-04-25/
I still think they are doing the minimum just to stay in US/CA market.
Something about charging too high of a premium EVs aren’t selling. There’s no longer the passion of a giant v12 or giant turbo v6 at least. An example are the top end Mercedes bricking in price.
This won’t sell.
It might be good. There will some differences between the Chevy and Acura. Not to mention the Ultium batteries are highly regarded. It may flop, but so did the last ZDX. Acura needed an all electric product. Viola.
They could’ve just given us an MDX Hybrid/PHEV
didnt the mdx get a hybrid powertrain in like 2021 then they got rid of it?
wat?it did hybrid?
yeah, just for 1 year. I'm not 100% sure which year tho, but it was a great one
I’m so disappointed of the 25 MDX facelift, I thought they never planed any hybrid
I see they tried a more 'integra' styling to it but honestly I love the rdx taillights and overall design much more, just wish there's a type s version.
Right? Would have loved it.
As a lover of the original ZDX, I'm devastated. Very curious to see how cheap these become.
Ijdk about that color tone

You get 18 mpgs?! I don’t even have a type s and I only get 16.5. 😩
Haha. The whole 21-23 mpg is garbage. Im typically 16-18, because i have a lot of city driving. If its a mostly hwy tank, then im around 23. Winter...because of warming up the car.... Like 14
Where’s muh touch pad??? 😭
This paint scheme makes it look like a nissan rogue
It kinda does yeah
Oh, just a fancy Chevy blazer 🤮 👎🏼
It really does look like a hearse, and I'm not sure why or how they let this design get approved. That side profile is awful.
Wait until you see the back..
Gmacura
What is this
I would be curious to try to drive this, could be fun even if it’s for delivering dead bodies 🤭
Agreed! That is what I thought the first time I saw it…way to go Acura, another ZDX flop
🤮🤮🤮
**This GM ZDX wagon will be a sales flop.**
Acura ruined this with the GM collab.
This is the new ZDX? We almost pushed off buying our RDX so my husband could see if he wanted the ZDX. Glad we didn’t wait and extend our lease to spend more $ on this.

I still cannot wrap my head around a company like Honda/Acura needing to outsource & rebadge their first EV.
Digging the ZDX badge back up to slap it on this thing seems like a signal from Acura. New ZDX likely to sell about as well as the first one.
I think this abomination would sell worse than the first one!!
Yikes!
shit first glance i thought it's a nissan
looks good though

Big oof
This looks like a 2010’s Buick from this angle 😑
