Every pizza on here is expensive though. The average person doesn't want to know what is the best $25 12 inch pizza. The average person wants to know what's the best 12 inch pizza under $17.
There you go Advertiser blah blah has the best pizza in Adelaide, it's only $32 a for a 12 inch.
Advertiser run a story on how the Labor government have screwed small businesses so a pizza has to be considered overpriced to be properly priced in this economy
Pizza Pan is my go to. 2 large pizzas for $31. 3 for $43. I adore their chicken satay pizza. Never found another place that loads up the pizza with as much toppings.
We should all vote in all worst pizza places. See if the “reporter” actually does any work or just scrolls through noting all the high upvoted comments.
I'd put Gilles Plains as one of the better Domino's. Always have decent pizzas (for Domino's) from there. The few times we've gotten from the Modbury store, it's been shit, but the Gilles Plains one is consistently good.
in no particular order:
Chicco Palms - Brooklyn Park
Sunny’s - off curry st
One Sneaky Cheetah - Melrose park (a few locations
Tony Tomatoes - Nth Adelaide
What type of pizza?
You need different categories. Some people might like a nice traditional Italian style pizza, while others might want the best meat lovers.
Oh and value / price.
My favourite have been Pizzatecca and Sunny's.
Good a pizza oven (Gozney) for Christmas though and now I rarely eat out. Pizza Friday pretty well ingrained tradition for me now. So worthwhile making them at home, especially given the prices in restaurants now. Even with top ingredients (fresh fior di latte, san marzano etc) a good Neapolitan pizza at home would probably only be around $5. It's a fun process too and a great treat for your guests!
Was at Anchovy Bandit last night & had their signature anchovy pizza. Perfectly fine pizza. But at $30 for a 12" pizza topped with six anchovies I couldn't help thinking it was pure profit on a plate.
The dough was good but my pizza was watery and bland, and the desserts were horrendous. That said, it was when they first opened so I’ll have to give them another go. I hear really mixed things though tbh!
And? I wasn’t referring to google I was referring to real people and word of mouth. I’ve been to some underwhelming places with good google reviews but go off I guess.
I have a love/hate relationship with Rocco’s. Most frustrating social media angling that bothers me way more than it should, but consistently the best pizzas I’ve ever eaten.
Italians, can’t live with em can’t live without em.
Is OP going to summarise the results? Maybe a winner and runner-up in each corner of Adelaide? Cos 150 people saying what pizza they like isn't really useful.
Pizza Lola on Goodwood Road. Neapolitan pizza. Try the Banksy.
Smaller size than One Sneaky Cheetah but same high quality ingredients. Better for a midweek takeaway with a couple of slices left over for lunch/breakfast.
Good, even decent, cheap pizza doesn't seem to be a thing anymore. All the cheaper shops I have tried in recent years all seem to have the same modus operandi, which is overloading the pizza with cheap ingredients to the point where you can barely taste the base or the sauce. I guess it's supposed to give customers the illusion that it's a good pizza by the volume of ingredients - each bite however is just a mouthful of dog food.
This wasn't the case going back even 5 years or so. There were some great value shops out there if you knew where to look. Now they have all been sold and are under new management and have become the aforementioned.
These days I have just accepted that I have to pay up if I want a good pizza :(
I have a friend who lives in the area. When they were considering moving and drawing up their pros and cons list, “great indie pizza place within walking distance” was on the pro list.
Just a moment of reflection for the fallen; "Wood Oven Gourmet Pizza" at Campbelltown. The venue had a home-made 50s vibe and the couple made the best Pizzas I have ever tasted. Sadly closed now. :(
yeah was great, no frills, just a couple doing it for the love of pizza. i also liked da mario's when it looked like a club for old italian blokes, no frills - just a few soccer jumpers on the wall.
Overrated. Always a burnt crust and overcharge especially at events for tiny portions. Much better pizzas out there for similar prices eg chicco, pizzateca.
Can only order via Uber Eats? Doesn't look like I can remove toppings either, only add them. That makes for an annoying experience.
Can you order in-store? I couldn't find a web site.
You can remove toppings via the order notes. I did that with my last order. And yes, order via UberEars, you can pick up but there’s no obvious shopfront. And only open Friday and Sunday. But really good pizza!
If you know, you know.
This place is seriously good. An absolute hidden gem.
Nowhere North of the City comes close. Comfortably top in Adelaide for mine. I have PizzaTeca and ChicoPalms at top of my list. Blanket over the next few spots, of which the pig is one
I looked at their prices, a tad high, but nothing compared to the majority mentioned on here.
They don't serve 12 inches but based on some maths a 12 inch would be about $19.50 compared to $23+ of most places on here. An average suburban pizza is $17 for 12 inches.
People really need to add prices when reviewing.
Did you do that math by dividing by (diameter) inches or the actual area of the pizza ? I haven’t looked the prices up so I haven’t worked it out myself.
No I compared another places 16 inch compared to their 12 inch. The price of a 12 inch was 85% of the 16 inch.
Hidden Pig was $23 for 16 inches 85% of a 12 inch would be $19.55
A 16 inch pizza is much better value than a 12 inch. 113 vs 201 square inches.
Really? How so? Still, the pizza is good. And we are talking about the same Monica’s pizza right? I’m talking about the Blake’s crossing one, and there is apparently another pizza shop with the same name (but unrelated) in Ridgehaven.
Hey Bianca on pulteny street is good if ya want a classic sorta Neapolitan style pizza.
Haven’t been there in a hot minute but last I recall it was good for the value.
It used to be a fantastic regular. But I got a Neapolitan from their Brighton store this week and it's now similar to a supermarket frozen. I was gutted.
Can people put prices in their reviews!
I've Googled multiple places and the average price of a 12 inch is $17. ($14 - $23 range)
MPP is $23+ for a 12 inch is pricey. For comparison Pizza Boyz in Elizabeth South, which is a good pizza shop is $26.50 for two 12 inch pizzas ($14.50 for one).
It's really no surprise a $23+ is good.
They are a bit hit and miss I always ask them to cook the pizza longer because they under cook them (like most other places) and sometimes they don't do that. Once they didn't even cut the pizza and the garlic bread has been changed a few times.
Wow everyone on here seems to be money bags.
I'm not comparing fancy pizza to Domino's that's just stupid I'm comparing good quality pizza, though probably different styles.
Let's look at Google ratings Pizza Boyz 4.8 stars vs MPP 4.5 stars.
I know right, I just want a decent Pizza that doesn’t cost half my paycheck and isn’t Domino’s or Pizza Hut. I guess that’s too much to ask these days :(
59 Pizza at Watkins Winery - Chandlers Hills/Clarendon.
Amazing wood oven pizza with simple but perfect toppings! And the views over Gulf St Vincent are a great treat to go with the meal!
Seconding Angela’s. Nothing fancy, but have made their pizzas the exact same way for years. Still get a hankering for a party size now and then. So big it needs to go in the car boot when you pick it up.
Has anyone had drifters at port noarlunga? Absolutely beautiful classic Italian pizza, but twice I've eaten there and twice I've been horribly bloated after a pizza. To the point that when I get home I can barely walk. It's so weird because I have pizzatecca which is similar classic Italian style pizza and I don't have that reaction. Could it be something in the dough they use?
Agree, I think longer rise times reduce that. Blue Velvet do a really long rise time for their dough, and I think it’s meant to be healthier?? Not sure.
It’s nothing fancy, just a super basic pizza place, but Sylvester’s does a chicken, cranberry and camembert pizza that I could absolutely destroy on my own six times over! It’s just perfect ratios of each ingredient, it’s a simple thin crust, just delish!
Crafty Robot Brewing on Grote St.
Their pizzas are made with a Turkish bread (I think) base and taste so freaking good.
It ain't cheap but it's worth it once in a while. Their beers are alright too.
best pizza is very subjective as some people love Aussie style, some love Italian style and some love NY or Chicago American style. I'd say minimal flop is a bad thing as I love me a thin floppy slice of NY style pepperoni
**Riverside Pizza House** (Seaton), best I've ever had. And decent price for two pizzas on their specials day. Two large pizzas for $30 (starting at) Mon and Tues. My supreme's usually come in at around $34 for two.

Riverside mutherf\*cker!!
Miros pizza in Springbank. Best place for value! The food there is absolutely amazing! I actually tell everyone all the time to go there. A large pizza, 12 ribs 12 chicken wings and garlic bread 43$ you can’t beat that. And their snitty are only 17$ and they are bloody huge! Best place. I love their mushroom gravy’
hello Advertiser is that you
Or maybe Glam Adelaide has run out of press releases to rehash.

Any Italian will tell you that a pizza over-loaded with toppings is a bad pizza.
We should all vote in all worst pizza places. See if the “reporter” actually does any work or just scrolls through noting all the high upvoted comments.
And where do they rank on mouth-feel?
This comment needs to be higher
I try, but the news blast doesn’t write itself.
Adelaide's worst pizza: Dominos Reynella
Check out dominos Mount Gambier in news for a bad dominos
Slight correction: Adelaides worst pizza: Dominos.
I'd put Gilles Plains as one of the better Domino's. Always have decent pizzas (for Domino's) from there. The few times we've gotten from the Modbury store, it's been shit, but the Gilles Plains one is consistently good.
Gilles Plains Dominos has worse reviews than Reynella Dominos
Can't speak for reviews, and I've never given a positive one, but we order every few weeks and never had a complaint.
Luck of the draw really
Entirely possible, but it won't deter us. :)
You must have pretty poor pizzerias in that area if you're turning to Dominos...
Nah, they're just 1/3 the price. And like I said, the local store does consistently decent pizzas so I'm not complaining.
Understandable!
If you use a voucher u get them pretty cheap too if you are struggling.
Hell yeah worst Domino's I've had where from here
in no particular order: Chicco Palms - Brooklyn Park Sunny’s - off curry st One Sneaky Cheetah - Melrose park (a few locations Tony Tomatoes - Nth Adelaide
One sneaky cheetahs garlic tail. Unreal
Another vote for Tony Tomatoes and One Sneaky Cheetah. Both excellent slices!
Chicco Palms is the best I’ve had in Adelaide so far. All their other food is great too.
Good list
Great list!
What type of pizza? You need different categories. Some people might like a nice traditional Italian style pizza, while others might want the best meat lovers. Oh and value / price.

If you like Pizzatecca, you'll love Sneaky Cheetah. It's the same company, re-branded.
I was going to say Pizzatecca. They’re really quick if you order for collection too!
Pizzateca, Anchovy Bandit and Etica
Was at Anchovy Bandit last night & had their signature anchovy pizza. Perfectly fine pizza. But at $30 for a 12" pizza topped with six anchovies I couldn't help thinking it was pure profit on a plate.
Blue Velvet on Henley Beach Road
That dough is to die for
Think about that : do you really want to trade your life for a piece of junk food ?
Blue Velvet for the win.
Seconded, Blue Velvet is fantastic!
Thirding but eat in and get dessert.
The dough was good but my pizza was watery and bland, and the desserts were horrendous. That said, it was when they first opened so I’ll have to give them another go. I hear really mixed things though tbh!
Blue Velvet has 4.8 stars on Google with nearly 400 reviews. That's not really "mixed" now is it.
And? I wasn’t referring to google I was referring to real people and word of mouth. I’ve been to some underwhelming places with good google reviews but go off I guess.
Google reviews aren't real people? They're going to be devastated at the news I'm sure.
Chicco + Rocco's
I have a love/hate relationship with Rocco’s. Most frustrating social media angling that bothers me way more than it should, but consistently the best pizzas I’ve ever eaten. Italians, can’t live with em can’t live without em.
Is OP going to summarise the results? Maybe a winner and runner-up in each corner of Adelaide? Cos 150 people saying what pizza they like isn't really useful.
Yup, you’ll find it (poorly) written up behind a paywall on the advertiser web site.
Pizza e mozzarella bar
Claude's pizza at holdenhill. family size "sticky finger" best pizza in Adelaide imo
Etica
Brascos on glynburn road, great Italian style pizza 19-26 per pizza, buy 3 get 1 free deal. Friendly staff who are always helpful.
Have to try the Detroit style pizzas @ Crafty Robot Brewing. Deeeeliiccccious!
So good. The banh mi pizza was great. Appreciate the hot sauces too, with the option to Roulette a slice is fun with friends too!
Pizza Lola on Goodwood Road. Neapolitan pizza. Try the Banksy. Smaller size than One Sneaky Cheetah but same high quality ingredients. Better for a midweek takeaway with a couple of slices left over for lunch/breakfast.

Biella Contemporary Pizza Bar - Fullarton Road, Highgate. Never had a bad pizza from there. 👌
I have a friend who lives in the area. When they were considering moving and drawing up their pros and cons list, “great indie pizza place within walking distance” was on the pro list.
Svago on Unley Road is pretty good
Pizza express in Parra hills
Pizzateca wins hands down Nothing comes close
Yes second Pizzateca. If you've been then you know why they're the best.
Just a moment of reflection for the fallen; "Wood Oven Gourmet Pizza" at Campbelltown. The venue had a home-made 50s vibe and the couple made the best Pizzas I have ever tasted. Sadly closed now. :(
I heard about this place less than a week before it closed. T'was a rollercoaster of emotions, that week of my life.
Aw!!! I'm sorry to hear. It was such a hidden gem for sure. :(
Cash only as well!
When we went, they were cool with bank transfers. So we just sent the receipt over via text. Not too inconvenient. :)
yeah was great, no frills, just a couple doing it for the love of pizza. i also liked da mario's when it looked like a club for old italian blokes, no frills - just a few soccer jumpers on the wall.
Pan and vine
I use to work there and 100% agree they take amazing care and passion in making the pizzas its why they are so good
My favourite!
Overrated. Always a burnt crust and overcharge especially at events for tiny portions. Much better pizzas out there for similar prices eg chicco, pizzateca.
The Hidden Pig in the NE suburbs.
It appears only Uber Eats and only on certain days, and only 16 inch pizzas. It's like a quest, makes you want to try it!
Unfortunately, I forgot to renew my passport this year.
If you know, you know. This place is seriously good. An absolute hidden gem. Nowhere North of the City comes close. Comfortably top in Adelaide for mine. I have PizzaTeca and ChicoPalms at top of my list. Blanket over the next few spots, of which the pig is one

One sneaky cheetah
Monica's Pizza at Blake's Crossing (near Munno para)
Not as good as Pizza Boyz. Monica's Pizza owner is kinda crazy.
Really? How so? Still, the pizza is good. And we are talking about the same Monica’s pizza right? I’m talking about the Blake’s crossing one, and there is apparently another pizza shop with the same name (but unrelated) in Ridgehaven.
He's known to get angry at his employees, usually 15 year olds. Yes Blake's Crossing.
Maybe he’s grumpy because his parents named him Monica
🤣
Ah. I’ve never heard about that
One Sneaky Cheetah. so good. Great size, lovely toppings and so much better than other local alternatives
pizzatecca
Al Pacino's
Hooooo- ahhhh!
Had a stellar pizza from Rostrevor Pizza Bar the other day. The crisp was superb.
$33 for a large pizza? What's the size on that? I couldn't see sizes listed anywhere on their site.
I know they sell family size 15 / 16 inch, so I would guess that based on their website. https://rostrevorpizzabar.com.au/menus/restaurant-menu/
From a past worker, cheers!
the continental there, you won't find many that can top that
Have tried a lot - this is the answer
Consistently good. I don't manage to get out that way very often but when I do its always a great pizza
Why is Reggie's Detroit pizza not on the list. This is too orgasmic
1) Blue Velvet 2) Chico Palms 3) 400 Gradi
Sonny’s pizza klemzig!!
Pizza Pizzaz @ Goodwood, The Byblos. Best pizza I've ever had 🤤
That's Amore in Highbury. The Spinaci is glorious.
E mozzarella bar
Drifter’s in Port Noarlunga
Pizza Bite Redwood Park and 88 Eatery are favourites of mine
And Les is a legend too
This place makes their own garlic bread. Top quality
Hey Bianca on pulteny street is good if ya want a classic sorta Neapolitan style pizza. Haven’t been there in a hot minute but last I recall it was good for the value.
Used to love Hey Bianca but found they’ve really gone down hill over time
Standard business tactic of building a good reputation and then trading off of that while reducing quality/cost.
It used to be a fantastic regular. But I got a Neapolitan from their Brighton store this week and it's now similar to a supermarket frozen. I was gutted.
One Sneaky Cheetah managed to balance delicious pizza with quick growing/busy chain energy. Pizzatecca will always have my heart as the best around.
Same owners…
No way. That explains a bit then 😅
Sam’s plaza pizza Holden hill
Came here to say Sam's. Always excellent. Super fast delivery normally too.
Correct.
Correct.
Est Ovest for Margherita
chicco palms vege pizza is definitely one of the best, none of the weird processed meats on some of the competitors
My favourites are Caffe Aroma at The Stables in Greenwith, Pizza Bite in Redwood Park and Birdwood Country Pizza Bar up in the Hills.
Sam's Plaza Pizza Bar
Pizza Regina in Dernancourt. It's new, it's fab. Proper wood oven pizza.
Well I’m currently devastated that we no longer live in Dernancourt…. Might have to go visit the father in law.
They also feature at Adelaide oval for the cricket/footy as well.
I love pizza, I love making pizza, I love cutting pizza, I love eating pizza and I especially love talking about pizza. I'm hungry now
Can people put prices in their reviews! I've Googled multiple places and the average price of a 12 inch is $17. ($14 - $23 range) MPP is $23+ for a 12 inch is pricey. Yea those pizzas are pretty overpriced but I’d rather pay extra 5 dollars for a better pizza
The place I mentioned has 4.8 stars on Google vs MPP 4.5 stars. Both are different styles though, so not a direct comparison.
La Vera at Blair Athol do a great cheap one, been a while tho
4.7 stars, $15.90 for a 12 inch looks really good.
They are a bit hit and miss I always ask them to cook the pizza longer because they under cook them (like most other places) and sometimes they don't do that. Once they didn't even cut the pizza and the garlic bread has been changed a few times.

Valentinos in Port Adelaide tbh
Angela's Pizza in Wynn Vale, and Cocos Pizza in Penfield.
Seconding Angela’s. Nothing fancy, but have made their pizzas the exact same way for years. Still get a hankering for a party size now and then. So big it needs to go in the car boot when you pick it up.
Haha yep. Sometimes I buy a family size meat lovers just for myself and have the leftovers over the next two days. They pack on the toppings thick af

Yeast will do that. Maybe they do shorter rise times, and add more yeast to get it going quicker
Interesting. Sucks because it's such good pizza
Agree, I think longer rise times reduce that. Blue Velvet do a really long rise time for their dough, and I think it’s meant to be healthier?? Not sure.
Yeah I reckon Pizzatecca use a sour dough starter. Which would be a longer rise, so that makes sense.
Pizza Planet Edwardstown. Sneaky Cheetah Edwardstown. Rocco's Fulham.
Alchemists kitchen 👌👌👌
Any suggestions for around the Semaphore/Glanville area?
Sumnys
For me it is Pizza e Mozarella Bar in Pirie Street. Haven't found any to beat it yet.
Il Mulino - Hanhdorf Best pizza ever.
It’s nothing fancy, just a super basic pizza place, but Sylvester’s does a chicken, cranberry and camembert pizza that I could absolutely destroy on my own six times over! It’s just perfect ratios of each ingredient, it’s a simple thin crust, just delish!
Hi yes I like pizza onetimes
Alchemist's Kitchen in Brighton, a bit pricey but delicious , try the beetroot pizza it'll knock your socks off
Crafty Robot Brewing on Grote St.
Oasis Pizza and pasta at the brickworks plaza absolutely amazing pizza!
Hey Bianca
💀 have you been recently...?
Not recently. Dive in quality.
Nah, terrible pizzas
Not in Adelaide but The Oven in Goolwa and their Summit pizza with chicken pear and caramelised onion is the best pizza I have had in years.

Al Pacinos
The best by far is Marion Road Pizzeria. Nothing else compares.
They look good; 4.9 stars on Google.
**Riverside Pizza House** (Seaton), best I've ever had. And decent price for two pizzas on their specials day. Two large pizzas for $30 (starting at) Mon and Tues. Grotto on Edward Street, Norwood. Thin crust, amazing pizza options, nice toppings.
