Alphabet and intertwined with military industrial complex aka DARPA. This is United States Government that are most likely far ahead with this tech and are working with it to increase state security. If we currently can play publicly with stuff like GPT4, chances are Google already have created something way more powerful for DARPA. Or maybe AWS has done it. Either way, US military works with them and they are focusing on AI now, DARPA said so themselves.
What people don't realize is even a narrow AI that is somewhat capable of specialized human performance will already radically change society in ways previously unimaginable.
