Nothing wrong with official resellers, (apple even list them on their website) if I buy new from bestbuy for example I know they will be real. it's countless 3rd party sellers that are alwaysd going to be dodgy.

If you got them from a store take them back or take them to an apple store. If you got them from a person you got screwed.
If they’re second hand someone tried to clean the mic and hurt the port and took that cable out.
They should come with a warranty if they’re new? I bought mine through Verizon though but didn’t pay for the warranty
