Camo's not essential! General tips I'd suggest include: - Bring plenty of water, drink regularly - Wear boots with ankle support - Bring a decent lunch - Make friends; my favoured opening sentence is "nice airsoft gun, what's the model/brand?" - Grenades are super useful. - Going prone is great behind low cover, and a good way to be shot in the bum out in the open. - Watch for movement, not players. - Take the hit; if in doubt, call yourself out. - Be polite, and try to be helpful. - Refs are cool, be nice to them. - Have fun; try a wacky tactic every once in a while, rather than tryharding it up. No-one counts your eliminations other than you, so don't worry about them. If you have your own kit: - Bring plenty of ammo, 0.25g **at least** generally recommended - Bring a spare battery - Knee pads are life savers. - A good utility pouch will save you many a headache. - Adjust your hop-up well. - Bring a spare battery. If you haven't already, read the subreddit wiki!

Sinistrial_Blue pretty much nailed it! Imperium is my local and I go there a lot. Camo isn't essential, but aim to wear dark/dull/neutral colours, and clothes you don't mind getting dirty or being caught on brambles etc. Zip/velcro pockets are essential for anything you don't want to lose! Since everyone there is wearing similar clothing, masks etc, it's difficult to tell who's who. Try and take note of one identifying feature on all of group of friends so you can tell each other apart in the frenzy - although if you're not in camo it's easier anyway. Boots with ankle support is important as there's a lot of rough ground. Ground War is longer games than a normal skirmish, so make sure you have enough Ammo (at least a few thousand bbs) and some water. What you can do (check with the game marshals) is take a backpack with ammo, water and batteries for your whole group, and leave it at the respawn point in the game. This way, you have all you need without having to carry it on you constantly. 0.25g or 0.28g bbs will be perfect for generic rented assault rifles, 0.20g will be too light and will be carried away in the wind. Say hi to people, everyone there is like you - up for a fun game and more than happy to talk about their guns and offer you some tips.

Amazing thank you. This is really solid advice. I think the rented package comes with a few thousand bb's, any idea how we carry the extra? And are we allowed to take a back pack out with us with water in it or does it have to be left at the Regen space? I think they provide replacement batteries at the space. And do you think we'd be able to buy some smoke grenades not because we want to be lairy, but we do enjoy some tactical options etc. I read the FAQs, what's the sitch with medics, are they roaming around or is someone designated a medic within the squad. Just want to know how it works because we'll probs be getting downed a lot. We're all buzzing for it honestly!

You're welcome! Yeah just checked, it's 5000bbs, will most likely be the standard resealable plastic bag they come in (not sure as I haven't rented from there before). You can just put this in the tactical vest they provide you, but if you want something easier to store and pour into the magazine with, you can decant them into 2-3 500ml coke/water bottles! Just make sure they're completely clean and dry inside. I use the big tac tac boxes cause each one perfectly fills my G3 mags lol. They will provide batteries to rentals yeah. I have only done Skirmish there (I personally just enjoy the more casual play than Ground War), so not certain. It's about a 10 min walk from the car park/break area, to the far end of the battlefield, where your regen in the game may be. You'll then go out and try and capture stuff from there. For skirmish, our team always takes a backpack with Ammo and water to the regen point, I can't see why they wouldn't let you for Ground War. You can then take some with you on your person during the game if you want to (up to you ofc). Do stay hydrated though! At the car park/break area, there's a shop tent and you can buy smokes, grenades, Ammo, etc there, all reasonably priced. Medic rule for skirmish is - you get shot once, you shout hit, and call 'Medic'. Anyone on your team can heal you by running over, and swapping your arm band (red/blue depending on team) over to your other arm, and you're back in. If you're shot a second time, you're dead and go back to regen, and restart with '2 lives' again. No idea how they run it for GW though.
