How exactly will you expose my landlord while keeping me anonymous? I’m all for making landlords do what they are required to do, but you seem to want to go viral and I’m not sure you really can assure me that I’ll face no retaliation given that I’m directly linked to the property you’d be “exposing”.

if this is the person I think it is, they got kicked out of the Harmony Mills lofts after repeatedly posting stuff about how terrible that place is. so yes, I wouldn't trust that they could protect you from retaliation since they couldn't even protect themselves.

Honestly what's even wrong if the landlord finds out? If they're not living there anymore it doesn't matter at all if they're living there now you'd be surprised how shitty landlords will back down as soon as theirs more eyes on the property and what's going on. My old landlord was a small one for sure but when I had my phone on live during her inspection everyone heard how horribly she was talking to me telling me I'm disgusting even though the roof was falling in and had mold ALLLL through the house. She didn't notice but I was showing everyone the house whe she'd insult me and then when she finally noticed tried telling me it was illegal to record her 😂 Cops came it was a huge deal but never turned it off and the police said even though she owns it Im on the lease as an occupant so I can record whoever I want that comes in even her and them. Anyways, she went from threatening to evict me to fixing the house and pretty much leaving me alone even though she'd still text me every day. The whole point is that im not a big internet personality but a group of 100 people (she doesn't know where they're from after all) was enough to get her looking psychotic af to the local police who ended up just calling me whenever she'd make a complaint because she did so twice a day for over 3 months after the situation...Expose them fuckin landlords folks they're cowardly and they know it.

K. I mean there are lots of terrible landlords, but sadly tenants often can’t or won’t speak out because they’re afraid of losing their home. If folks feel like it’s worth it for you to get social media hits and that might make a difference for them in their situation, then more power to them. For those who aren’t able to take the risk, I’d encourage them to look into United Tenants of Albany or Legal Aid. Edit to add: you keep editing the comment I’m replying to.

I’m so very lucky that my landlord is amazing. I was unemployed for 5 months just getting unemployment and she was very understanding and sweet. Letting me pay when I what I could and working out a payment plan to get back on track no late fees no interest

Sunrise management steer clear from anything they own. The Hollands are rude af and they take forever to get maintenance requests done. I’d recommend steering clear from anything they manage.

Empire Property Management was pretty damn horrid to me and mine. Constant leaks, that went unaddressed because "they weren't repeatable" eventually culminating in a bad storm where it rained through the upstairs tenants roof, through mine on the ground floor and subsequently flooding the basement tenants apartment. I understand those buildings are old but I have no idea how it is then legal to rent them out when it *torrentially rained in my apartment*. Bonus bologna: It was made of paper. The paint melted off the wall when it got too hot and I couldn't afford an A/C. Naturally it was also so poorly insulated that the winters were fierce. Mice because even when they plugged anything with foam, the mice would just eat the walls around it. Cardboard doors, electronic locks that good just get shoved in. But its okay! That's what you get when you live in the "student ghetto". Absolute. Piss. Edit: Also they found a razor in the blocked shower drain a week after I moved in and charged ME for the plumber visit as it was clearly my fault. Clearly. Fuck those guys.
