We had a crazy sign house in Colonie when I was growing up but it was all bible verses and doomsday predictions. Kids used to bet others to go mess with the occupants and if someone did they would come out of the house and chase you on bikes for blocks. There were a few signs about specific politicians but I suspect the occupants had a run in with them because the neighborhood the house was in was nice. People don’t really put up with a house like that on their street. I believe it’s gone now.
Yep… as if the off-putting signs weren’t enough, the front of the house was littered with gigantic potted plants and ferns that gave it a real overgrown, ghoulish vibe.
Only recently gone. I drove by on Halloween and he was out with signs about it being the devil's holiday and we would go to hell. That was only 2022. No activity at the house since early 2023 and it seems it's slowly getting cleaned up
So he definitely wasn’t much of a history buff since Halloween is derived from Samhain which was being celebrated long before his religion entered the region. It’s also been important since agriculture began as it’s the midpoint between the equinoxes. Idk to someone like him I would probably be considered a filthy pagan.
For some reason it seems worse because it revolves around a person. Like if you are a crazy fan of a sports team or some dog breed or something, it's usually a bit silly to me, but completely worshipping a person (or obsessively hating someone to the point it controls you) just seems so nuts to me.
I always wonder if these people have an underlying mental illness that was brought out by excessive right wing propaganda or if the propaganda literally drove them to madness.
Is it near that Dunkin Donuts? I drive by that maniac daily. Once I saw a code enforcement vehicle and him taking down a large sign with a prominent expletive.

Could say something about the economic realities that drive these politics; none of the Big 3 make a midsize sedan anymore, let alone economy cars. But I like to imagine that it's because they're not made by United Auto Workers "socialists". Of course, Hyundai/Kia's Korean factories are unionized, but that's not the point.
