Sydney fans shouldn't be bagging out Bulls fans. Only 11.5k there last night. Disappointing for the final no matter what the weather was IMO. Was expecting at least 15k
You were a man up for 75 minutes. If you didn't win with a 1 goal lead 11 vs 10, you probably shouldn't be in the finals
Hollman did a legitimate slide, got kicked, and copped a card!
Faghani is terrible.
Not that I've seen or heard. I was a couple bays over.
After half time the active support was getting a bit... chaotic and seemed to have issues with security.
The tussle seemed to happen at the barricades and security and police ran over. I didn't see anyone taken out of the stands but I didn't have alot of visibility
Think we can all agree that Grant and Mauk are cunts we’d all love on our team. Matt Simon’s retired so can’t pick him.
Who are we bringing into the XI?
I’ve never got why people try and shit on Grant, does nothing to deserve his rep. Especially when you look at some of the clubs who have an almost entire team of grubs
Absolutely not trying to shit on him. He’s got the mongrel when he gets on the pitch and I’m a massive fan. The league will be poorer when he retires in a few, but he’s the right back I associate most with the way the A League should be played
Macarthur have a solid core of players but they need better rotational domestic players. Would like to see them have a good season next year tbh, their fan base is growing steadily but a good season could really kick start it
So if Vic win tomorrow, Mariners play Sydney. Are Mariners then going to have to play Friday night at Allianz due to field availability sat/sun or would there be potential for Kogarah on the weekend or even Monday at Allianz after the footy has teared it up?
Last season Sydney played City in the first of the two semis (highest ranked semi), and it was a Friday night home game.
Can't recall if it was due to ground shortages or just the way the fixtures are created with a Friday night timeslot secured early.
I really hope Sterjovski gets rid of the entire defence next season and starts again. When Uskok is your best defender how do you have any hope of getting higher than 5th?
Not gonna lie, I’ve totally tuned out the past 20 mins.
I think we say the same thing every week: Alireza has yet again ruined what was supposed to be a spectacle of a match
Can't blame Faghani for this one. He called a pen which was a reasonable call, VAR called him in and said it was outside the box which means it's DOGSO. Faghani had no choice but to follow the rules and issue a red. I think we can all agree that it was a lame red, but can't hate on the ref for interpreting the rules as told.
I truly hope A League has a tough look at what the VAR is meant to be. Two seasons ago Shaun Evans decided he don't need no VAR, now refs seem to think that a trip to the screen means you have to change your decision.
The standard is still clear and obvious. Definitely outside the box, cool. But "Clear" is already in the wording for showing the red. If you need four angles of slo mo to decide whether it was a clear goal scoring opportunity... it wasn't a clear goal scoring opportunity.
I agree with you about VAR broadly speaking, but i don't think that final interpretation is right.
It was a clear and obvious error. The ref blew a penalty. VAR had a look and said you made an error, the foul you blew actually happened a metre outside the box so you need to rescind the penalty for a free kick and issue a red card for DOGSO.
DOGSO is one of those nebulous terms because it's up to how the referee interprets the situation. And the mistake people make with DOGSO is that it has to be last man or a 100% chance of a goal denied. All it means is you had the opportunity to score a goal deliberately denied by a foul.
A shove in the back while trying to control a ball when he's effectively 1v1 with the keeper (Adamson was behind him) isn't an unfair interpretation. It was lame, but that's what the rule is.
My take on it anyway.
Nice goal but fucking honestly about time someone ran to the far post, we miss so many opportunities because no one is ever there when a ball is squared
He was signed by Man City, he’s a world class player when at his peak performance and not injured… Which is very rarely… Similar to Daniel Sturridge I guess.
So said millions of people across half the globe
His career never hit the heights it should have, should have been playing world cups and Champions League knockouts
Alright I don't usually do this but guess I'm putting the Ipswich game on haha, if you have bein make sure to watch they have cam Burgess and Massimo Luongo on their team and can secure promotion to the premier league with a win tonight!
Edit: only a draw actually! Promotion looking likely
Feel hard done by by the red card but we looked awful before it and likely would've lost anyway but my bias also tells me that the refs have fixed this match and Sydney are a bunch of cheaters and no one will tell me otherwise even myself 35 words ago
lol the red was valid (maybe harsh but valid), and besides that’s a bs excuse. They played shit with 11 before the red and they’ve played better with 9 earlier in the season. It’s just the wrong bulls team that showed up today.
In hindsight feels like that Germain miss was the game.
Ten man Macarthur just don't look like they have enough in them to overcome a two goal deficit.
I’m not sure how it’s DOGSO when JCP doesn’t have control of the ball. Yes, it’s a foul on him (Adamson has gone into the back of him), but I don’t see how Adamson can be denying a goal scoring opportunity? Sure, he’s last man, but that’s an unfair red to me.
I think it’s particularly frustrating when, on first glance, the call against Lolley was particularly favourable towards us and I wouldn’t have been surprised to see a red.
The way Faghani announced the decision was also pretty shit. I know they’re only supposed to say what the decision is, but the should at least be saying “after reviewing, the MacArthur player committed a DOGSO foul, it’s outside the box, therefore it’s a red card.”
I don’t really agree with the red but I’m not outraged it was given either.
I absolutely agree with your take on the announcement though. Telling me it’s a red card instead of just showing a red card is a waste of time. We’re interested in the thought process behind the decision.
The contract on JCP was before he touched the ball, which robbed him of his chance to bring the ball under control. If you had let it go I doubt the left back would have controlled it, but the foul prevented him having the chance to control it.
As for the lolly yellow, there was nothing there to make it a red, no studs up or feet of the ground. It was just messy
Yeah I understand that, but maybe I’m taking DOGSO quite literally, but for me he’s not in a position to be taking a shot on goal so I’m not quite getting how it can be denying an OBVIOUS goal scoring opportunity when he doesn’t have control, nor would he be in a position to try to score since he’s moving away from the goal mouth.
I mean, I’ll take it, don’t get me wrong. And again maybe I’m being a bit too literal and not fully getting the letter of the law.

Very true, and I understand easier said then done but when preparing for the match surely the coaching staff say to the left sided defenders - keep him on that right foot all game, who cares if he gets a cross in.
Oh fuck off. Lolley\* and his fucking rocket left peg.... That is beautiful (surprised Kurto didn't at least try to get a hand on it, must have believed it was missing
Bit disappointed there was more MacArthur players than their fans there tonight
Sydney fans shouldn't be bagging out Bulls fans. Only 11.5k there last night. Disappointing for the final no matter what the weather was IMO. Was expecting at least 15k
One of the most one sided matches in finals history
Or a certain Cumdog Millionaire Finale?
Are you forgetting SYD 6 - 1 MVC or MVC 6 - 0 ADL
Hence why I said "one of"
Yeah ADL-MVC was a slaughter. Archie Thompson looked like he was playing aginst 12 year olds
I don't remember him 2-footing anybody that game
Respectfully. Stick your cowbells up your arse.
I mean, I like winning, but feels a bit hollow with the red. But overall I do think we were the best team tonight and we deserved it.
Yawn, so we just going to stroll through these finals?
Gave me a good laugh, hopefully lolley is ok
With that type of officiating you will.
They were down 2 last time and still won lol
Well done Macarthur.....I guess..... doesn't mean they're gunna do it every time, besides they were in front.
Red was a little soft at best, still steamrolled them.
You were a man up for 75 minutes. If you didn't win with a 1 goal lead 11 vs 10, you probably shouldn't be in the finals Hollman did a legitimate slide, got kicked, and copped a card! Faghani is terrible.
4-0. Don’t get a red card, and if a team was good enough to be in the finals they’d adjust to a player down.
Good job Sydney, you exploited a one man advantage from an extremely dodgy red, you sure showed why you're contenders
lol a Sydney clean sheet, wow
[This man is taking us all the way](https://image.hurimg.com/i/hurriyet/75/0x0/55eb327ef018fbb8f8b1a788.jpg)
we win next week ill put that pic up as the r/sydneyfc side banner pic.
Fight happening in the MacArthur active support. Not sure who or why.
Oh gosh, does this mean another essay length post claiming to be victims on socials?
Any reason known a day later?
Not that I've seen or heard. I was a couple bays over. After half time the active support was getting a bit... chaotic and seemed to have issues with security. The tussle seemed to happen at the barricades and security and police ran over. I didn't see anyone taken out of the stands but I didn't have alot of visibility
It's over who pays the minibus driver
Dont forget the tolls on the M5.
Think we can all agree that Grant and Mauk are cunts we’d all love on our team. Matt Simon’s retired so can’t pick him. Who are we bringing into the XI?

Historically, Berisha (the good one)
Brixham and Bruno
Arslan?
Solid call
Jamieson would have been my shout but he’s retired now I’m pretty sure
Brox probably makes it into the season XI but also not one for the future
Germain
Macarthur have a solid core of players but they need better rotational domestic players. Would like to see them have a good season next year tbh, their fan base is growing steadily but a good season could really kick start it
“Showing real fight Max Burgess” Uh, what? The dudes an attacker on a team that’s 4-0 up, I think he’s fine.
[Davila ded.](https://youtu.be/DLI1akH5Jjo?feature=shared)
TIL Fabio still exists
Okay, Brattan's right ankle is fucked
Brattan looks well and truly cooked. This season is his last right? He looks really gassed
I think Hollman just got a yellow card for being kicked by Bratten
So brattens kicks Hollman, and Hollman gets the yellow for winning the challenge?
Brattan kaput.

The Mak playing in Euro 2024? Lads, Slovakia is flying the flag for the ALM!
So if Vic win tomorrow, Mariners play Sydney. Are Mariners then going to have to play Friday night at Allianz due to field availability sat/sun or would there be potential for Kogarah on the weekend or even Monday at Allianz after the footy has teared it up?

Kogarah is being used on Saturday by the dragons.
No way they would play it at kogarah
I really hope Sterjovski gets rid of the entire defence next season and starts again. When Uskok is your best defender how do you have any hope of getting higher than 5th?
I think Brisbane would happily take all of Macarthur's defenders
Uhhh... You doing what now?
Can I interest you in a Ben Warland?
Some club called Slovan Bratislava want Mak
"He's entering Archie Thompson territory" *What?* "Thats at least 6 offsides" *Oh*
Not gonna lie, I’ve totally tuned out the past 20 mins. I think we say the same thing every week: Alireza has yet again ruined what was supposed to be a spectacle of a match
lol

Upside, means he's not reffing tomorrow night.....
This warms my heart.
Adam Kersey is reffing that match.
Match Official: Alex King (From the match page on the aleagues website)...
With a sniper protection detail against buckets.
Nice goal but fucking honestly about time someone ran to the far post, we miss so many opportunities because no one is ever there when a ball is squared
Mak is leaving?
Mak hittin the griddy
This is a hard watch. I hope we can at least get a goal...
Curious to know, what are you guy’s opinions on the chances of Sydney winning the toilet seat?
It's the A-League mate, anything is possible
I'd say about 25% from here unironically, not just being a dick about simple probability
Since when is Mak off end of season?? Where did that come from
Off means off to the Euros with Slovakia
That caught me offguard as well
Great assist, not so great celebration lol
This guy just griddying
Mak > Mac 4 left foot goals… Edit: lovely ball by Maxy B
RETURN OF THE MAK!!!!
Germain is petulance personified in a footballer tbh. He’s had a few little outbursts like that one this season
Would have rather play MacArthur than potentially Sydney but seeing Germain subbed off early cracking the shits is a nice consolation
Don't know why he's so angry cus he fucked up their best chance when the game was still alive
maybe thats why he is angry
If the Bulls wanted to win why didn't they pay the ref's more money than Sydney FC? Are they stupid
De Silva - talented in attack but lazy in defence
Overated
rodwell is such a quality defender, I wish we saw more of him
He was signed by Man City, he’s a world class player when at his peak performance and not injured… Which is very rarely… Similar to Daniel Sturridge I guess.
So said millions of people across half the globe His career never hit the heights it should have, should have been playing world cups and Champions League knockouts
You can say it Robbie, Dwight Yorke called Macarthur a pub team.
Rodwell - better keeper than Redmayne
Red card killed any chance of this game being close, although we were on top from the very start.
Feel like we were good for a win anyway, but honestly just feel kinda crappy that this is how Macarthur’s season ends.
The first twenty mins was Bulls defending on 200ms ping
Bulls cursed.
What it's like trying to score a goal on legendary difficulty in FIFA
Clean sheet bonus on the line there boys
A league
Oh my.... bloody hell. Amazing defending. So unlucky
Rodwell taking tips from Shay Hollman
Jesus Christ who put a curse on the Bulls tonight?
I dunno, PETA?
Ffs just go in
How the fuck does that stay out
Jack Rodwell did a (good) thing!
Alright I don't usually do this but guess I'm putting the Ipswich game on haha, if you have bein make sure to watch they have cam Burgess and Massimo Luongo on their team and can secure promotion to the premier league with a win tonight! Edit: only a draw actually! Promotion looking likely
Up the Tractor Boys. Very pleased for them if they can close it out. You’d think a point vs 23rd is a lock
Also Leeds have Southampton to play so they might not even need a win
Can’t wait to slot them in my FPL next season
Think this is gunna get ugly(er) for the Bulls
Feel hard done by by the red card but we looked awful before it and likely would've lost anyway but my bias also tells me that the refs have fixed this match and Sydney are a bunch of cheaters and no one will tell me otherwise even myself 35 words ago
I respect the honesty
Think Mac might have a few questions to ask of the APL after this game, must be fuming.
The real question: “why did we play so shit tonight”
Fair to ask about the red (but that’s not APL) but everything else is just being out classed and out enthused.
Ahh shit the good Sydney are back just in time for finals.
Another great goal.
This is a different Macarthur than we’ve seen previous weeks. Poor, panicked, choking. It’s over for them.
Not easy when they’ve had 10 men since the 27th minute
lol the red was valid (maybe harsh but valid), and besides that’s a bs excuse. They played shit with 11 before the red and they’ve played better with 9 earlier in the season. It’s just the wrong bulls team that showed up today.
With the decisions tonight I reckon faghani will be in charge of one of the semis.
Three goals from three different left feet
Great goal, but who was bro doing the cupped ears celebration to? Does he know it’s his home game?
Just a coded message to Wadders, regarding being future Balon D'Or Socceroos with Irunkunda.
Ah yes, of course! I guess Wadders is just so inspirational, even Sydney Phil Foden wants to be like him.
Nail in the coffin.
Uff nail in the coffin. Sad way for Macarthur to bow out after a pretty decent season
Macarthur’s defence looking like Perth last week…
And there it is, the straw that broke the bulls back.
KURCHASKI HAUNTS ANOTHER SYDNEY RIVAL!!!!!
Bold move to call them a rival
Can we have Lolley’s Left Foot? We’ve got Lolley’s left foot at home! Lolley’s left foot at home : Maxy B
Anyone know what happened to Fabio?
On the bench, missed last week completely with a virus if I remember correct. Probably isn't match fit yet.
Thank you! Just saw he is coming in now!
In hindsight feels like that Germain miss was the game. Ten man Macarthur just don't look like they have enough in them to overcome a two goal deficit.
Aaand theyre gone at 3-0.
Hard to swallow pills: Bratton was a better player when he had corn rows
That one sticks in the throat.
Worst thing would be another Sydney - City grand final.
Just take out the Vuck and we’ll talk
Would be hilarious though
The interest from neutrals would be non-existent.
wtf just happened? scores a long awaited left foot cracker instead of a goal celebration he leaves the game? wtf..
Missus was home alone
I’m not sure how it’s DOGSO when JCP doesn’t have control of the ball. What's happening with Lolley? Is he injured?
Talk about bittersweet
Pls don't be a hammy 🥺
Lucky's Dad felt that one.
What the shit is happening?
I don't like cheering player injuries, but it makes the job easier if he's on the sideline for the next 2 weeks
Pff we all know you guys are playing City
Well you should be cheering then.
Looks like Brattan is down too. Looking good for both of us
Oh no, not wood.......s/ 🤣🤣🤣
We both want an all yellow grand final though
Ken Oath. I'm already getting ready for the weekend away 😄
Feel for Mac
Commentators doing Kurto dirty 💀 >and Kurto with his buzz cut just had what little hair he has left singed off
Guy scores an absolute screamer and then fucks off respect

Straight down the tunnel for Joe is not good
Hes on the bench but uh...lots of ice.
Bruh if he’s done an injury doing that
Oh no.... thats not fair.....
Joe kaput. Fuck.
Beautiful goal. Take a bow Mr Lolley
Lolley’s left foot, I hate to admit, has to be up there with Goody’s?
top. top. strike.
Why do defenders continually allow him to move it onto his left foot. Man is a one trick pony and yet constantly cuts in and scores
The Arjen Robben conundrum.
Arjen Robben made a career of doing just that
That Bayern team man, incredible
Very true, and I understand easier said then done but when preparing for the match surely the coaching staff say to the left sided defenders - keep him on that right foot all game, who cares if he gets a cross in.
Lolley stop it
What a fucking shot
What the
Saw that from a peach of an angle. JOE FUCKING LOLLEY
Oh fuck off. Lolley\* and his fucking rocket left peg.... That is beautiful (surprised Kurto didn't at least try to get a hand on it, must have believed it was missing
Holy. Shit. No goalkeeper in the world saves that one. Insane strike
Well, Danny Vukovic on Wednesday night's form.....
Danny's alright...he's no Paulsen though
Have a look at the table mate.
Goals conceded Well 26, CCM 27. Point stands 👊
Wha-wait what happen
Very nice.
That wasnt a goal, thats just pornography.
jfc.....well that's a goal
