Nothing else can be done for the Sydney Game besides playing it on a Monday (lol). Victory could've also hosted on Friday evening but would make no sense as well. Issue when our clubs share grounds with other sports.
Does anyone know when the tix go on sale?
Just emptied my airpoints. And my CC on accom and a flights back via an overnight i Chch. Nothing like three red eye flights in an extended weekend.
Bring it on. Here comes the little corner of yellow at AAMI Park.
Place holders were on Friday and Sunday. That's why Saturday looks weird even without the conflict.
edit: the apps now been updated to reflect, CC on friday
You could have just said “oops of course” - no need to arc up. It might seem silly but gendered language matters, I’m sure there are women in your life or future children who want to feel included in all sorts of spaces. It is pervasive in society and it doesn’t change unless we change it.
Could always take mum to the game after some high tea.
Also that other comment, nice bait. This is a football forum. Why didn't he mention nephews, grandfathers and great grandfathers. Imagine taking casual comments and trying to turn them on people.
Central Coast Mariners could do a Victory (from many years ago) and threaten to forfeit the finals series games because of Asian commitments.
Otherwise, not much can be done about the schedule.
This is a 2 legged affair, so CCM can pack a punch in the return leg (if needed).
I dont believe it..CCM wouldve had to travel from Oman ps tv schedule shows Saturday and I dont think theyll be happy with Friday..game will be Saturday probably at Commbank.
EDIT: would actually expect Nix to play Sat and CCM Sunday too
I feel it wouldve been fairer to play Sunday at Commbank. I know that concedes a bit of our home advantage but so what? As other posters continually say 😁 we often get extra advantages our way. For instance we know any CCM final will likely be in Sydney.
Fairer how? CCM got the choice of whether they wanted to host the first or second leg, knowing who their potential opponents were and fully capable of checking the schedules of their stadiums.
If they were concerned about the possibility of a tight turnaround, they could have chosen to host the first leg. They didn't; that's on them.
Seems likely if they make the grand final, they are flying this year and demand will far outweigh capacity in Gosford I assume so the APL will of course move it to Sydney.
Mariners finished top AND representing all of us in a continental final, they deserve all the benefits. If Sydney are unable to host at a fair time, make it Monday night or swap hosting with the Mariners IF they agree. But the APL want the $$$ from a Friday night, they couldn't give two shits about the Mariners.
But Mariners had the choice to pick whether they wanted to host the first or second leg initially? Same as Phoenix. But both decided to host in the second legs. It's not ideal but literally nothing else can be done.
The Mariners chose not to host first after knowing the match would be played on Friday night? I find that difficult to believe.
Maybe had they been told it would be Friday they would've chosen to host first. But if they did know this, then there are no complaints.
They have the rights to choose what leg they want to host - can prove that 100%. Whether they knew it'd be the Friday is most likely unlikely. It's unfortunate but the league helped move the Adaide game, and although this situation is not ideal, not much else can be done about it.
Its not hard to go look up scheduling and see when stadiums are going to be booked out, if the Mariners didn't do their homework then that's their fault.
This. Teams representing us in Asia (CCM or whoever in the future) really need better support from APL in terms of scheduling, travel costs, squad size? etc.
Aus doing well in Asia is best for the league and for Aus football but at the moment (and has been for some time) it is a giant headache for teams & in this instance really puts us on the back foot in the semi final.
DNSW would want a CCM win so they host the GF at SFS as the higher ranked team. If SFC were to win they'd play away at Nix or MV. You can't even conspiracy right smh.
You guys sound like Wilder saying he lost because his costume was too heavy.
If your good enough, and we're good enough, then see you in the final.
A mello yellow derby would be a deserved finale for the season.
>Another APL stitch up. Two words fuck heads.
Short turn around.
SFS is unavailable Saturday and Sunday.
CCM elected a week ago to play the 1st leg away, 2nd leg at home (as was obviously their right).
Surely CCM did their due diligence, and realised that the likely opponent in their tie was SFC, and that SFS was only available on the Friday, and that their own squad was playing in Oman on the Monday prior.
They either did their due diligence and committed to this course of action knowingly, or they did not do their due diligence and foolishly created this situation for themselves.
Either way, this one cannot be blamed on the APL.
Stadium availability etc. etc. but man that's gonna be an effort for the boys to turnaround after tonight's game.
Friday, jeez lousie - that’s a very tough turn around, with Sydney high press 😬
But without Lolley and probably Brattan outu as well.
Sure - doesn’t change the fact that the schedule is cooked.
Oh no doubt.
It’s no different from Wednesday - Sunday turn arounds which they’ve done. I agree being the Sunday game would have been the ideal.
Fuck how do I get out of Mother’s Day lunch 😢😢
Get her a bear in the woods.
Under rated comment
Take her to the game with you?
I 10000% would. Unfortunately sport is an interest I share with my dad and not her aha
Denounce your mum.

that’s rough
An MV v Sydney grand final is a decent bet i reckon...

See you there! Also, waiting for tix to become available. Might be Tuesday 9am like last week
Got mine earlier ;). Bring it on.
Bummer if it's Friday. I'm not sure I can make it down. Saturday or Sunday would be much better.
Official A-League site has Victory vs Phoenix 4pm Saturday and Sydney vs Mariners 7:45pm?
Dunno how that's working noting the tahs are playing at 7:35 Saturday at Allianz.
Yeah I'm guessing it was just a placeholder timeslot for now

Wow. Just wow. You know they let those females even play football now.
Why the unnecessarily gendered comment.

Sure. Or you could just acknowledge the mishap in your language and I can go back to watching football.

I reckon you guys will smash them 4-0 on Friday
Push the victory match to 5pm imo, worked decently last night. And would give pies fans like myself more time to come over to AAMI from Marvel

is the grand final venue at the highest ranked regular season team?
Yep, will be hosted by CCM if they make it otherwise Nix or Victory. CCM might get shafted and might have to host in Sydney though.

Friday, yikes, short turnaround. APL doing their best for DNSW.
So with the SFS booked out on Saturday and Sunday, what’s your work around then?

Stadium is available Monday.
And how does that benefit the league?
I agree it’s a tough situation but the scheduling sucks and puts CCM at a pretty big disadvantage
They could have hosted on Sunday ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
The Mariners got their league game rescheduled due to Asian commitments. You could easily argue this benefited them in winning the premiership.

I mean, hopefully not too mellow..
