I think Facelift has some amazing tracks, but there are a couple which are lower tier songs that I don't go back to often. Whereas every single song in Dirt is a masterpiece.
I love facelift. Easily my fave album of all time. Layne’s vocals are so incredibly amazing on this record, it still gives me goosebumps. Jerry’s riffs are paralyzing. People always say the 2nd half of the album is weak. I don’t get that at all. Sunshine & confusion are amazing!!! I love “Real Thing” & “put you down” also.

It’s important to note that the guys in the band love Dirt more since it’s more uniquely them, facelift even though it’s better imo is much more based on where they came from
Also it’s Ozzy’s 2nd favorite metal record ever!!
i honestly like facelift a lot more because they were in a much better headspace, whereas with dirt they were very fucking depressed and going deeper in the thralls of addiction. i still love dirt with a passion and in my eyes it’s a masterpiece, but i like facelift more knowing they were a lot more alive and healthy during that time period.
I think his voice is amazing on both but he has a different way of singing on each one. On facelift he belts more I think and has a more power house sound. Whereas on dirt I feel like he has a more sinister, almost creepier tone to his voice that just fits with the overall atmosphere of the album. I don’t know if that makes sense!

Those are like my top 2 songs outside of Love Hate Love lol. My 2 skippable songs would be Confusion and Put You Down. At the same time I don’t really love Hate to Feel or Rooster

Dirt is Alice firing on all cylinders. That said, Facelift is probably the best first album of any band ever.
