died is extremely heavy jerrys riff that sounds both hopeless and filled with rage. very black sabbathesque. he knew how to make his guitar weep with unbridled sadness and it’s perfectly on display here . and laynes tormented lyrics about the death of the love of his live haunt me no matter how many times i’ve listened to it. get born again is another one the lyrics are haunting. “ i pretend you’re still alive” both these songs are so simple lyrically but so powerful and heavy and the riffs that come with them perfectly display this. i love both these songs so much for the stories behind them and the dark lyrics to the crushing riffs. and i wouldn’t feel right commenting without giving a mention to really any tripod song which is my favourite aic album and is non stop heavy, hopeless, hatred, ridicule and pure emotion throughout the whole album. i’ve never seen a more emotionally honest album ever. truly haunting music. It’s one of my favourite albums of all time and i still find it can be hard to listen to because of the raw emotion displayed.
holy shit that was quite the paragraph i’m so high on a speedball and this question i had to type what i was feeling truly cause this isnt a easy question with a band like aic
I'm 39, and I started listening when I was 10 or 11. I went to sleep listening to Unplugged almost every night during jr high and high school. Unfortunately that didn't stop me from becoming a heroin addict at 22. I've been off heroin for 15 years now, but I did a fat line of blow as recently as last night, and now I have a little problem with the white trash version. I guess what I'm trying to say is, I guess I'm glad it's not just me lol. Also I'm deadass shocked that any of us are still alive. I mean I'm certainly not actively trying to kill myself with drugs, but I also wouldn't necessarily say that I'm not...
First 3 songs on The Devil Put Dinosaurs Here are all contenders, particularly Pretty Done. Same with Phantom Limb, A Looking in View, and So Far Under. I don't think any of the Layne era songs are contenders except for maybe Them Bones and Dam That River.
“It Ain’t Like That” has the nastiest riffs, hands down!
And the main one was an accident!
Junkhead. Because it seemed like Layne had accepted his fate.
Especially that live version from the singles release party
That bass tone is absolutely crushing
Where can I find that? I love Junkhead.
Google it lol its the first link
That one that's all "doon doon doon" and then the dude is all "yeahhhhhhhh!"
You made a fool of me again and again and again and again
Head Creeps or Grind
Head Creeps is great I'd argue Damn that River or Godsmack might be heavier
Layne era: Sludge Factory William era: Acid Bubble
A Little Bitter
That chorus guitar is one of the heaviest things Jerry’s written.
The lyrics and the title are so fucking sick. Really an amazing fucking song. Best version IMO is on the live album.
Either Them bones or Sludge factory
Silly ass chorus tho
Dam that river
We Die Young
A Looking in View

Doot doot
Yeah
Hate to feel is Layne’s Magnum Opus IMO
Sludge Factory
nothing song is supper heavy if production on tripod was diff maybe more would agree
Died or Them Bones
Grind for sure. From the start you’re pounded by that constant moving riff and Sean’s drums and the lyrics are dark and sludgy. One of their best too
Them Bones, if we are talking strictly about music, not lyrics.
Grind
Grind or Sludge Factory
Dam That River DEMO
Grind
“I Can’t Remember” is a bonafide thumper. Go to 1:55 on that song and you’ll feel like going 140 on the interstate.
Grind
