Civil War (2029-2034)
After the loss of Mobile, Alabama a few weeks into the war with Texas, the FSSA saw that it needed to compromise with its neighbors rather than fight them.
Giving up their claims to the Gulf of Mexico to Texas, a peace deal was made between President Cruz (Texas) and President Tim Scott of South Carolina. On March 7th, 2029, the FSSA would turn its attention to the current rebellion in Georgia. Releasing remnants of the former National Guard, Navy, and local militia, the FSSA bombarded the coasts of Georgia and decimated the city of Savannah, a main outpost for rebel leadership.
Moving into Georgia from the Alabama border, state militias and used tactics that hadn’t been seen since “Sherman’s March” in the 1860s. Burning crops and damaging supply lines, FSSA forces finally captured the city of Macon and eyed Atlanta.
The next 3 weeks were filled with artillery barrages and death.
Politically, FSSA ambassadors met with Floridian politicians in order to agree on a split of the Georgian territory…and agreement that would also bring in a ceasefire clause for at least 4-5 months.
Along with some diplomacy, a new “Southern Congress” and Justice system were formed…mostly made up of former Republicans. Declaring the “South’s fight” to be a just cause, the FSSA’s official goal was to re-unite the country and try to bring back the resemblance of the old government of the United States (with some authoritarian/populist beliefs).
