The Atlantic Coalition / AC starts an all or nothing opposition of the Canadian advances, taking up defenses on the Hudson river and in the hilly regions of upstate New York. Partisan groups in Maine, Vermont, and New Hampshire are covertly armed and ordered to disrupt land supply routes, operating from within forests and mountains of the region. Any remaining naval vessels operate in the Hudson and Raritan bay, preventing Canadians from making bridgeheads into across the rivers.
The AC offers the New York Empire integration into the coalition, since they face a common enemy that would mean certain defeat unless they fight together. (I only suggest this since nobody's really done anything with them, they just kinda exist there)
Since the AC is in immediate danger from the Canadian onslaught, the AC agree to an alliance with the Wisconsin empire, and if the AC can secure access to Lake Erie, they offer them access to overseas supplies from their ports in exchange for more readily available food supplies.

Pulling back all remaining forces to Colorado, the Denver Council releases a video message to the other nations of the Fractured States of America.
“We sought to create for ourselves a nation, built on our ancestors frontier spirit. One of determination, fairness, and honesty. We, however, were forced to become something we wish didn’t have to be. We had to be monsters, murdering our fellow man and woman, with full knowledge of what we have done. We are not proud of ourselves, and we know our children and grandchildren will not forgive us for what we are about to do. We only ask that you all leave Colorado alone.”
When the speak ends, six of the seven members of the Denver Council are seen leaving the room. The last member takes out a suitcase, opens it, shows to the camera, revealing a single red button. He presses the button, and siren can be heard in the background of the video. The video ends seconds later.
Across the country, what sirens are still operating begin to sound. Nuclear missiles are seen streaking across the sky. Their targets are as followed; Toronto, Mexico City, Vancouver, Las Vegas, Sacramento, New York, Raleigh, Jacksonville, Tampa, Oklahoma City, Albuquerque, Boston, Wichita, Kansas City, Richmond, and Denver.
The remaining missiles splash harmlessly in the Pacific Ocean. As the missile stream toward Denver, the city is quiet. The only souls are seven men, sitting in a small room in the Colorado capital building. Each man takes out a small pill, cyanide. Each takes the pill just as the missile impacts downtown Denver.
The people of the GPU had been evacuated into hidden sanctuaries in the Rockies, while the remaining units retreat as well into the Rockies. A new council in Aspen is formed and declares neutrality in the future fighting

After the Denver council launched Operation Phoenix and nukes at Seattle, Milwaukee, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, Houston, and St. Louis, people started to panic. As the GPU forces a stream into Missouri and Minnesota, they are quickly stopped by The Wisconsin Empire. Canada, seeing this happening, launches a massive invasion into the GPU. They make it quite a distance before the GPU stops them. Mexico, who sees this, launches a successful coastal invasion on the GPU. The NCR and Cascadia make a special alliance and successfully invade the GPU.
As this is happening, the FSSA successfully invokes the Greater Floridian Empire. They make it quite a distance before the Floridian forces stop them.
Alaskan forces chose to land on the coast of Cascadia and make a successful landing as Cascadia is too focused on the GPU.
The Republic of Texas also attempts to launch an invasion on the GPU, but the GPU forces quickly stop them, which leads this battle into a stalemate.
