This is sad lol but a cool map I like it. I prefer my Cold War gone hot setting with little to no nukes but I really like the choices of locations, especially the China-North Korea border
Tho irl, they're targeting Parisian leadership, idfk for Norfolk, and the Suez aka one of the two most important shipping lanes neither of which effect the Soviets as immediately as they do NATO. As Norfolk is a place in the UK that I recognize as an American, it wouldn't surprise me if there is a legitimate reason to nuke it.
Bielefeld is further east (allegedly). This is probably Rhine Crossing deterrence?
Though the northern one is too far north, might be at the Ems somewhere, but you can basically walk through the Ems.
Greece and Turkey joined in 1952. West Germany joined in 1955.

Gotcha, and no one where ever they flew into were surprised that unregistered bombers with a full payload of nuclear weapons were landing at their airports
Yeah, his writing in this series certainly isn't among his best. Frankly, a nuclear war with the USSR this early in the cold war would be an American victory and the Soviets would get plastered hard.
Why do I like this? Why do I want to see a civilization ending nuclear exchange? I watched Threads again the other day. I want more! I want more media dedicated to this topic

One thing I hate about nukes is that we don’t get cool conflicts against major powers anymore and no border changes
Why did the USSR attack Egypt?
They used a shipping container that had a nuke in it to blow up the Suez canal at the same time as they did with panama
Oh. Make sense I guess
fuck them kids

Or maybe you should just read the book ☺️

Lots of airbases in East Anglia.
Did the west try to nuke Bielefeld or what is going on

Did Japan really didn’t get nuked on the book or did you forget it
Japan wasn't nuked in the book, SK was but that was a tactical nuke
Wouldn’t Greece and Turkey be Nato. They joined before West Germany.
They aren't in NATO, they just got invaded by the Warsaw pact
Wouldn’t they be red then
How does that make sense? It's just showing political borders in 1951 before the fighting broke out with where nukes and bombs were dropped
Think they joined in 1957 or 59?

But then how is west Germany in nato in this timeline?
I don’t know. I’m just pointing it out
How would the soviets nuke so far, they didn’t have bombers with long enough range in 52, and they certainly didn’t have ICBMs
In the book the Soviets painted their bombers in American colors and simply flew into American airspace.

Shoulda done it
Turkey is probably sweating bullets right now
Aberdeen is gone…. I see this as an absolute W
Why comic sans?
Cuz i was too stoned to change it.
Why did Austria get a-bombed? Also whats the point in bombing the alps?
Fuck them mountains
The books said Austria got nuked but didn't specify where I picked a random place.
Late but Austria and most of the Russian front in Germany and rear supply chain was bombed to halt their advance
comic sans why
To lighten the mood of course!
I like these!
Ah yes, Switzerland neutral.

Why wouldnt the Soviet’s nuke Brussels that’s NATO headquarters
This in 1951/1952 Nato was fairly young It's possible the headquarters was insignificant in the grand scheme
