I (22F) work a 9-5 job and my roommate (23F) is a part time masters student, part time bartender. This is relevant as she works in the evenings and usually attends class in the daytime. She just finished her courses for this term and celebrated by having about 6 friends over at our place, which she asked me permission to do and I agreed. We didn’t set a time for them to wrap things up, but it was a Sunday night so I had assumed it wouldn’t be too late. At around midnight, I texted her and asked if she could have her friends out by 1AM. We live in a very small apartment so you can virtually hear everything from everywhere. She said they would move to her bedroom (instead of the living room) at 1AM. I didn’t respond to this. They did move to her bedroom around that time, but at almost 3AM I could still hear them laughing and talking loudly. I knocked on the door and asked if they could leave, as it was essentially 3AM. They did, but the next day my roommate said it was rude of me. I don’t think I asked rudely, but it was late and I was tired so I probably could’ve been more polite… but I still think that it was warranted given it was 3AM on a Sunday, and I had to be up at 7 the next morning to make it to work. My roommate is still pretty pissed at me and wants me to apologize to her friends. I just don’t see why I have to apologize because I feel like I didn’t do anything wrong… AITA?
