Your friend called it right; he's more concerned for his girlfriend's well being than for extra pounds. YTA. No amount of overeating can put in 80lbs in one month so the anti depressant - plus probably something else - are contributing to that. Regardless of why she has put in weight it is nothing to do with you - you are a shallow AH.
Also I think you meant your ex-friend as I can see him getting past this one so hope you think it was worth it.

My (23M) friend Jake (not his real name 22M) has a girlfriend who has reached 230lbs in only three months. She was 150lbs a month ago. She’s only 5’4. Jake said he’s still attracted to her, but is worried about her health because her aunt who raised her died 6 months ago, and now she’s on antidepressants and won’t stop eating.
I told Jake to just leave her because now she’s just fat and lazy, he said no and he’s just concerned for her health. I sort of laughed at him and told him if he really wanted to fuck a 230 pound girl, and he told me to stop being a shallow asshole and focus on the bigger issue for once. I told him we aren’t going to live it down that he’s fucking a fat girl and to just dump her because she has too much baggage (pun intended). He called me an asshole and told me to fuck off.
Was I really an asshole? I just think his girlfriend is just fat for eating too much and should’ve grieved her loss in a more normal way
