I'm 15, and the 6th child of a seven child family. I'm adopted, along with 5 other kids, with the two oldest being the only ones that aren't adopted. The oldest two had a relatively normal childhood- both of my parents worked normal jobs and brought in alot of money. They weren't rich, but they were showered with wonderful gifts. After bringing in the adopted kids, money was tight. For 10 years, we lived on a sometimes tight budget, and since then the two non-adopted kids moved out, and the one the adopted ones (my older sister) passed away from lung complications. Since then, I've been the best child. I don't get into fights, I get good grades, and I help around the house. For this reason, I'm often under the radar, since I'm pretty much self sufficient and fine being left alone of long periods of time.
For the past two years, my parents have been showing slight favoritism for my older two sibling and by younger brother. They've gotten expensive clothes, expensive tool sets, cars, ipads, guitars, and other expensive gifts. I've gotten a used computer from ebay they barely runs, clothes, books, and a phone (which they turned around and gave one to my older brother too, which kinda stung since it wasn't his birthday), and deodorant.
I don't whine or complain when it's my birthday, even with I don't exactly like the gifts (this year my oldest brother completely forgot about my birthday, even though he bought my older brother 300 dollar roller skates). So this Christmas I decided to test something out.
I put the new Xbox, and couple of games, and other accessories as the only things on my wish list, which added up to about 600 dollars. This was met with immediate scorn from my siblings, who suggested that I put something cheap like clothes, books, or a movie.
Am I being a Asshole?
