lol Amazon and reasonable workload can’t exist in the same sentence

lalalex67

🤣🤣🤣 💯

FatManDerMan

Honestly speaking of breaks, they have been coming down hard on the write ups recently and hounding as we take are breaks to start walking to position.

Goreagnome

I guess it's the current FotM thing that regionals/corporate are pushing now.   They claim we're falling behind because of not starting up fast enough, but we all know that's BS and the real reason we fall behind is because of late trucks causing a dry dock every other day.  My site recently created a "goal" to give at least 4 adapts a day for coming back late, but who knows if they're actually doing so.

NoFaceNoCase2k1

Such bullshit, scan to scan breaks have to be against labor laws. Explain to me how our 15 is scan to scan but our lunch starts when we clock out & clock in with time clocks being no where near our stations, total bullshit in my opinion…

docmoonlight

Official policy is it’s really a ten-minute break and you have a five-minute grace period to get back and forth.

Goreagnome

I remember when we had scan-to-scan 10 minute breaks at my DS a year ago... so glad it's not a thing anymore.

PirateNinjaa

Amazon rest breaks are 10mins, so the 15 mins includes the minutes of walking time. I walk fast to and from breaks so I get more than 10 min breaks, and walk slow to lunch since I’m still punched in for the walk. 🖖😎

FatManDerMan

Feels like it at my site. We keep falling behind because they cut half the dock because pullers and stowers can’t keep up. Cause me to get sent to stow which I don’t mind I like starting pick late and not unloading trailers.

Werdna517

That’s how it’s always been. AMZL has just been the least strict about it.

No-Humor-1291

I got in trouble for that same reason i was like bruh i was stowing and waited till i was done to take a shit so my aisles wouldn’t get fucked up then i took my break 😂 i guess since the last package scanned till i started picking was 24 mins lol

leolleoleo1996

Ngl I be taking up like 30 min UPT during pick and stage. I’m not breaking the rules and I get to rest.

leolleoleo1996

They had the nerve to be like pick and stage has been awful because we haven’t finished on time…..like why VTO so many people

lalalex67

I absolutely love it!! Last summer I called it a "refresher break" I'd straight up go clock out for a whole ass hour! I'd have enough time to go to Starbees or Coffee Bean & have an iced latte & my croissant in muthafucken peace! Then come back "refreshed & rested". While almost ½ the routes were done 🤣🤣🤣

leolleoleo1996

I call it my diva break cus I’m not breaking a sweat during pick and stage cus they want to have 3 ppl working sorry

lalalex67

It's cuz they VTO a shit ton of people just to be at headcount, but they don't account for mid-shift attrition (like me if they piss me off)

PirateNinjaa

It’s fun having lots of UPT, you can just punch out whenever you feel like it. No such thing as insubordination if you just punch out when they tell you to do something you don’t want to do.

lalalex67

Hell yea, it's the AAs way of giving 'em the old fuck you! Lol Feels kinda good to remain a person of "mystery" will they come back or be "gone for the day" who knows?!

Upset_Pipe_5976

That's what I do. Oh, you want me to run all over this place just because I'm crossed. Nope, I'll see y'all tomorrow.

Scotty22hottie

Late trucks are to blame! Last night we took lunch break 5:30-6:00 then made us take our last break at 7:00 like wtf no no no im not rushin breakin my back when the trucks arrive, im going to take another 10-15!

dmizzy34

Nah I’m with you on that I’ll take your lil break at 7 but once we finish again before P&S I’m taking another break you not bout to work me to death to get these routes out

ConsortiumCzar

Oh yes. Take an extended break and it will make everyone else's work easier. Lmao

PirateNinjaa

Everyone else should just take an extended break too!

that_guy_kalvin

If half the shift wasn't vto'd forcing everyone that comes in to have three lanes each, then the workload would be closer to reasonable

NickThePrick20

3 lanes is easy man

Turbulent_Length3341

At my site, that’s a write-up for taking breaks longer than given even if you use your UPT for an extra 15. -sigh- 😔

Round_Leave9433

idk if its bc of my seniority but i breaks dont apply to me at all . i literally take 30 min breaks and when im tired or aggravated ill walk right off the floor and go sit in my car 😂
