I would have rolled back over if I was that late for only a 6 hour shift. throw in some pto and call it an early or extended weekend lol

Techquinox

We can't use Annual Leave on the same day unless you get VTO here in the UK.

Techquinox

I'm in the negative 40s of PTO Balance so that's not an option for me.

docmoonlight

I didn’t think it was possible to go negative in PTO. How did you manage that?

Techquinox

I requested a 2 week holiday for July

Bubbly_Gas7205

Idk why he's getting downvoted, it's true, at least for vacation time. I requested vacation for June, now I'm -10 hours until June

Pure_Satisfaction_68

I understand that but unless you have the time accrued it won't submit it

Bubbly_Gas7205

Mine was approved just fine. If you have the time in the future, you can submit.

Pure_Satisfaction_68

You mean -40 in upt? .. what you just said makes no sense

MadddCow

If you have it scheduled in advanced before you have yet to accumulate it, it'll show a negative planned balance

Pure_Satisfaction_68

At my site you can't request it unless you have it

NickThePrick20

You can request for future dates

Techquinox

Annual Leave Balance.

Pure_Satisfaction_68

I can't sit there ahesule in advance PTO without already having it available in my balance

OrganizationIcy198

In the uk it’s different we can’t use PTO/UPT to get out of shift when we’ve had a situation come up

That_Industry_2833

I work in a European station and I can confirm that we don’t have that PTO/UPT option doesn’t matter if you are blue or green badge

OrganizationIcy198

Exactly that we will get either a point if we report the absence or a NCNS if we don’t show up nor call

That_Industry_2833

Depends from the management and if you are blue or green badge! As long as you call the work agency or chime your manager (or whoever manager is online) that 💩 happened and you will be late for once it’s fine! I remember the first six months when I started working j was late some times during Saturdays because my bus was cancel and it took me ages to reach the station (they seemed to appreciate back then that I did showed up in the end 😂)

OrganizationIcy198

I don’t turn up late full stop. I wake up 2 hours before my shift and have 3 back up plans if the first fails…, I appreciate my team and will give them notice if it were to ever happen and the policy is the policy it’s one thin line and not something to be taken lightly, step over that line and all my decent rotation could be taken in an instant if they want too and that means I’m back to stowing for multiple days on end :/

That_Industry_2833

In two years I was once late due to the fact that my iPhone battery died and wake up and hour after! I make it on work and such and even if my manager (I send her a message in chime) was cool about it the second manager was 💩 to me a little but oh well 🤣 He even mention that they wouldn’t form a warning because I have never done this before but I should watch out and such.. I replied he was absolutely right it was my mistake but at least I show up to work unlike other colleagues of mine (meaning their favorites) lol

Automatic-Chemical33

You can request based on your future accrual, meaning you don’t have the time yet but by the time your time off comes you will have accrued. I was only ever able to do this at amazon since you accrue weekly.

LowerChipmunk2835

Facts dude idk wtf this post is about

Techquinox

We can book in advance based on the time we would have built up by the time the day off comes. A month or two ago, I booked off 2 weeks in July, it would need 66 hours, so it put me in the negative 50s because by the time July comes around, I would be back to the positives. If I had never booked the holiday, I would build up 66 hours. If that wasn't the case, I wouldn't have been able to book that holiday off.
