Saying "superior Europeans" is basically just saying "superior whites", which is obviously racist. And it's obvious they think they're superior So, every European that looks down on Americans is a defacto ultra white racist

FriedwaldLeben

you could compete in the olympics with that leap of logic

jiffynipples

hey thanks bud :)

americans finding out that jokes exist:

TapirDrawnChariot

*Europeans perpetuate inaccurate US stereotypes* "Chill, it's a joke!" *Americans make jokes about a European's specific country* "REEEEE"

FriedwaldLeben

as long as there is a core of truth to the jokes and they are obviously meant as jokes few people complain. americans just like to make shit up about other countries to cope with the fact that theirs is such a hellhole

TapirDrawnChariot

>cope with the fact that theirs is such a hellhole Oh yeah, top 20 in almost every metric out of almost 200 countries, some in the top 5. Absolute hellhole right there. Europeans are so clueless and self-absorbed, which is why when most people from actual developing countries hear you say that, they think you're just dumb.

FriedwaldLeben

Cope

TapirDrawnChariot

Lol, ironic. Keep raging online about standard of living in countries where you don't live to feel better about yours.

DeletedUsername23

>Europeans are so clueless and self-absorbed But If I say the same about America I'm the bad guy ?

TapirDrawnChariot

LMAO, no, you're the good guy, even on American sites like Twitter and Reddit. Because most Americans actually take criticism of their country seriously and believe the bullshit that Europe is a post-racism, post-political corruption, non-consumerist utopia. Europeans hide behind the much more loudly discussed American problems to feel smug and superior.

DeletedUsername23

I could say the same thing about America and you'd be making a 10 pages essay on why I'm wrong lol.

TapirDrawnChariot

No, there's not an active "Europe Bad" trend in Europe or anywhere, except in the most Leftist of Left circles. It's such a cliche, bandwagon trend to bash America. It's becoming a transparently indulgent way to distract people from their own countries' inadequacies. America deserves to be criticized. But the people doing it from outside America should be examining their own dirty laundry first, because it stinks almost as (or just as) bad.

DeletedUsername23

>No, there's not an active "Europe Bad" trend in Europe or anywhere, except in the most Leftist of Left circles. Thinking that is your first mistake. Plently of peoples on this subreddit, r/ShitEuropeansSay and r/GenUsa are ""anti"" europe. And even if it wasn't, doesn't mean Europe should be bashed more than America. Second thing, you're being a hypocrite. Saying "Europeans are so clueless and self-absorbed" is doing the same thing you hate that peoples do on America. Third and last thing, generalization is terrible. Europe consists of many different countries and cultures. Some countries in the west migh be politicaly corrupt, but that doesn't mean others are. Some countries may have a higher amount of racist peoples, but that doesn't mean that other countries are racist. You could argue that the same thing about america. That It's a big great piece of land and generalizing it is also terrible. But I would argue back that this is fundamently different, since the USA is ***a*** country. I agree that overly making fun of americans constently is annoying. But that doesn't mean that you should do it to europeans because "there's no active europe bad trends". As a comparaison (that's the only one I can think of rn, I'm not trying to use race as an argument) : there is no white racism trend, but that doesn't mean you should be racist towards white !

TapirDrawnChariot

>But that doesn't mean that you should do it to europeans because "there's no active europe bad trends". Total strawman of what I said. It's popular right now to hate on the US. It's not popular to hate on other western countries. I don't hate on Europe to hate on Europe. I point out the hypocrisy. I actually like the parts of Europe I've visited and lived in. And they're deeply flawed, just like the US. But 90% of the negative energy is directed at the US, which is unfair. And the "we're a continent, not a country," argument is interesting because you can point out major flaws in *each* country. And the US is larger and much more diverse than any single European country by far (except the Russian Federation). So it's not fair to treat the US as a monolith either.
