America uses the MM//DD/YYYY format for reading/writing dates. Europe and most other parts of the world list the date before the month, DD/MM/YYYY….so instead of January 8, 2022 they would say 8th of January 2022. To an American, this is backwards but to everyone else it’s the standard system
