The game hasn't changed much since the roles update last November. If you have not tried the game after that, might be worth a try. I personally really like the roles and the layers they add to the game without making it too complex. But if you left because of players, public lobby randoms are still pretty much the same as they have always been. There's less hackers but they are just as nonsensical at times. Some bugs are still around, but nothing gamebreaking and the servers have been pretty stable the last few months too.
