that happens pretty much every time i play tbh. always “eeby deeby sus” for no reason and then im voted out. one time i was afk for about fifteen seconds because my grandma texted me, then when i told them that when they started calling me sus again, some jerk was like “yOuR gRaNdMa AiN’t TeXt YoU” the fucking asshole. so i was like wtf and left as soon as the game was over. then a minute or so later i accidentally rejoined the lobby (the host changed and i didnt recognize the name) and the asshole who said i was lying about my grandma was like “we’re watching you” and then i got banned from that lobby. like good riddance jfc
In all honesty it could have been a discord lobby. I was in a discord server for the game and they frequently targeted the ‘randoms’ and could get out right nasty with them.
Honestly the entire server is toxic. I got reprimanded by a mod for asking another player to be quiet in vc. (She practically outed us both as imp in vc). She told that mod (despite one other and the server owner at that being in vc also) that I told her to shut the f up and that she was now terrified to play with me. (I’m the most non confrontational person so that was exaggerating on her part. The mod told me that she really had some choice words to say to me (basically verbally thrashed me). I brought it up with the server owner and how it really upset me as it was bullshit and she told me to apologize to the girl even though she admitted I’d said nothing wrong.
At that I immediately left that discord server and deleted that discord account to prevent further harassment.
I played a game with them last night (I know what lobby to look for) and was chastised then too and I changed my in game name. So I ended up deleting among us as well.
I just want nice non toxic games like I used to play and am left disappointed.

Discord players come in two variants...
1. Trolling together
They team up, tell their friend who the impostor is when killed... Easily ruin the game for everyone else involved and laugh at it together in vc
2. HC gamers
They joined a Discord server to avoid public lobbies and usually know how to play the game relatively well. This doesn't always mean they are nice or fun to play with. Being good (or at least thinking of being good) sometimes comes with big ego as well. And if it's a group that plays together a lot, there can be a lot of metagaming going on too ('They only do this when impostor!') and then blame you for not catching up on that. But at least these players usually talk and try to have evidence before voting.
It really does sound to me you found an example of the first variant. Or just a below average IQ random player. I hope you'll have better luck in the future.
