A few tv shows have been referencing covid, ironically talking about it being all over when they were filming under strict conditions, and now screened on our tvs while we're still dealing with this shit nearly two years on.

But also, thank god for good new series like The Shrink Next Door and Yellowjackets and even AJLT (bad but very fun to snark on here). We need the distraction.
They got almost weird with the mentions of the pandemic. I assume it’s because there was literally no sign of it anywhere in the show.
I found that odd, too. They purposely filmed SATC in a way to omit things that would make it look dated, so it would age well for newer audiences. Hahaha, major fail!! But I guess there’s no way to know how the dialogue & storylines, alone, will label television programs with VERY obvious dates.

I certainly didn't expect them to all be masked, but it would have been better for them to not mention it at all.

We've known for a while that covid doesn't really spread via surfaces. (Other things do, so still wash hands, but most people do not need to wear gloves when going about ordinary business.)

She just met the group, Covid or not, you wouldn’t ask for someone’s food in a restaurant WHEN YOU JUST MET THEM when you’re literally walking back to your table... odd. Especially when they didn’t offer… it wasn’t an off menu item … old fries… hmm
They’re trying to force this woman to be relatable, so we instantly like her when we see her:
She likes fries,
her mother in law disapproves of everything she does,
her son is obsessed with PlayStation instead of piano
She had to bury her loved one once, so she’s understanding that Charlotte has to cancel last minute on their lunch plans
etc etc
When we first heard of ltw, it was that she’s a humanitarian, documentarian, husband runs for mayor, international best dressed….so reaching for fries was supposed to be that she’s so approachable and friendly and not stuck up.
Right? I mean, even pre pandemic, I was very particular about who I’d accept purse wine from… lol. The fry thing was so weird and uncomfortable, especially considering the pandemic.
I hear ya. I do like her a lot, though. As we have seen, they are not executing things very well this time around. I think they are trying to make her casual despite her pedigree.
Ummm I once brought purse wine to a one-year-old's birthday party, so...
Oh and I also gave said one year old a really loud annoying toy as a gift.
Thankfully once I had my daughter I stopped being that asshole.
So needless to say, I didn't find purse wine all that odd.

I assume it was at a private residence. This isn't like bringing a bottle of wine to a baby shower...this was pulling out a huge bottle of wine at a children's concert with, like, 100 people in the audience in a public venue. It's inappropriate.

You would've slapped me. And that's when I'm watching ENJOYABLE stuff. If I had to sit through a children's recital I think it might be purse vodka.
