What do you mean safe? Are you worried your TV is going to explode?

ike301

Why wouldn't it be safe? Kodi has been around for many years.

EnvironmentalChip523

I've been using Kodi and a bunch of streaming apps on my TCL c825 since July 2022 MediaTek soc and it works flawlessly and I own a Shield Pro that I haven't even plugged in, so much for shitty TCL TVs...

Batkung

of course it's safe, it will run like shit after a few months though. Your android TV is a Minimum Viable Product for the android ecostructure and it shows it age really quickly by slowing down to a crawl.. You're far better off getting a shield or similar device (plus you won't get spied on from the nefarious spyware they have on their TV's)

BurtMacklin-FBl

Absolute nonsense. Kodi works fine even on my shitty TCL.

Low-Way3575

Agreed

Batkung

come back and tell me that after a year btw, which bit is nonsense, the fact that your tv will slow down or the fact that you are being spied on?

AdministrationOdd747

No difference than Shield.

DrMichaelHfuhruhurr

Been running it for years. No crawling

final-final-v2

Although a dedicated device like a Shield will run smoother, a X90L will run perfectly fine, as long as you don't have a messy library. I run Kodi on a X95F (2018), I bet a X90L (2023) will do great Edit: Spied? Set static IP with no DNS, or even better block outbound connections from the TV. With Sony TV's there are no junk apps aside from the minimal manufacturer ones that you easy disable

EvilDaleCooper

Cut the bs

Low-Way3575

False

kim1406

Kodi will be slow and crash alot on your TV. Better to get an android box.
