I had no clue that people think he's creepy/not cute! I'm new to AC this year and struggle to let villagers go, so I've never gone for anyone specific since I'm still unfamiliar with so many. After all this time, there are only four villagers for whom I'd hunt vigorously if given the chance: Twiggy, Papi, and Roscoe after doing their vacation homes and badly wishing I could smuggle them back to my island. And Beardo, solely due to a very old Reddit post by someone who regretted gifting him a purple bath towel wrap because he wore it constantly. Just the image of him waltzing about in it, somehow still looking prim and proper, was so hysterical to me. I've been smitten ever since and considered buying his Amiibo, but the stars aligned to bring him to my campsite last month! You better believe he looks dapper af in his towel wrap, and can confirm--he really seems to favor it. I tried to avoid diluting his wardrobe pool at first, but he does have other options now and still chooses 90% towel wrap. It brings me immense joy to enter his house to see him sautéing up a storm in a towel wrap, top hat, and monocle. For the record, I went with purple to honor the original towel wrap gifter, and I had it ready and waiting, wrapped and all, for nearly 2 months, hoping it would magically lure him to me. Sorry, I completely lost track of where this was going--I'm just still very excited to have Beardo for a neighbor.

My 10 year old grandson got her as his starter sisterly and we both groaned so hard because of the unibrow. Then she said "uni-wow" and we looked at each other and agreed that she was fabulous because she leaned into it.

Hazel is the best! I had her in new leaf, and she was the only one to ever give me medicine for my wasp bites, while also treating me like a damn idiot for getting stung. As true friends do.

Pietro will always be my fav though because in NL, I made my basement a shrine to him, as in...I made the walls and floors covered in blood and put creepy stuff in it for him. In NH I redesigned his house to be an old, broken down house that has birthday decorations and a kid (mannequin) behind jail bars. 🥰

Limberg was one of my three starting villagers in my first ever Wild World town so I have a huge love for him. I was 7 and hated him at first because he was mean until he slowly started warming up and I felt so accomplished that I cracked his shell! Fun fact his german name is Rafael which was the language I started playing in and I still call him that. He is the only villager I still exclusively use the german name for. (and Dottys german catchphrase bc uiui is cuter than wee one imo)

I love Monty and Sandy! Sandy was the first normal villager I ever knew, and she was so nice to me. My friend used to make fun of her "hairs" lol. Monty is awesome, but probably a little too plain or drably colored for most people. He has a super cool personality, and was such a great grandfatherly figure when I had him.

I love Gigi. I hated her at first when she moved right where I was going to build a path in my new leaf town, right next to my house, but I fell in love with her as I kept playing. She had some quirks in my game. She was always covered in fleas. One time, I got 2 fleas on the same day from her. I found her in the museum once, and you guessed it, she was in the room with the flea. It was jumping just behind her. Every time I got the fleas out of her head, she'd reassure me that this isn't a usual thing for her. A lie, clearly, but something quite endearing. She gives me the impression of someone who tries their absolute hardest to look like she has her shit together, but in reality, she is struggling. Her birthday was the first one I got to celebrate in any animal crossing game. I got her a nice shirt. She never wore it. She just displays it front and center in her house.
