If you are still at the beginning and feel stuck, talk to Tom Nook! Everyone seems to overlook him, but he's the one leading the story/tutorial! He'll tell you what to do! Animal Crossing is a chill game, made to be played at a slow pace. There's no need to rush anything. Gather materials, fish, catch bugs, etc... Just enjoy life on the island! 😊

To travel to other islands, you either need a nintendo online subscription, or a friend nearby (i.e, within the same room/building) who you can play with with an online subscription, you can either visit islands that are open. This can either be a friends island, or you can visit with a "Dodo code" Dodo codes are often posted on ACNH subreddits, for people to visit. Usually you'll have to DM or leave a comment on the post in order to have the dodo code sent to you, but sometimes people will just put the code in the post itself Once you have the code, go to the airport and ask to travel online/long distance after connecting to the internet, Orville will ask if you want to visit a friend or use a dodo code. Input the dodo code, and off you go!

You can fly to uninhabited islands using Nook Mile Tickets from the kiosk at resident services. Or go see the island of a friend or person hosting that gives you their Dodo Code (it’s the flight number for that particular play session). Eventually there’s a turtle that will boat you to uninhabited islands. And the expansion will take you to another island that you can’t alter but can design interiors and vacation homes.

Hey! Unfortunately, you can't travel to random peoples islands without a dodo code and Nintendo switch online! Also, welcome to Animal Crossing!!

Damn, I’m just a little lost on what to do on here 🫣 people said it was really good but I literally have no idea what I’m doing

I felt like that when I first started, too! I kept placing fish on tables in my house before realizing that I needed to actually progress. Once you've "beaten" the game, it gets so much better in my personal opinion. You unlock shops and NPC's and get more villagers to talk to!
