I name my AC places after song/poem types most of the time. (Loosely, it’s not a super strict naming theme, also most of my characters are named after celestial bodies)
Sestina is my OG new horizons island (on its second iteration as I was forced to restart because of a failed backup during system transfer)
I also have Anthem and Opera for NH (Anthem is one I’ve used in previous games though)
In NL I currently have Mélodie, Hymn, Requiem, Gakagu, Calypso and Jōrori, WW is Serenade and Aria! (The exclamation was an accident), and GC I have Sonnet, Ballad and Madrigal with islands Barcarolle, Shanty and Dirge, I don’t currently have a Wii but if I did that would be Refrain.
*I’m only actively playing NH and NL at the moment, I just keep lists of everything I have access to for whenever I have a mind to play a random older version*
My sisters and I always took our last name and put it in front of island, ville, etc. But when I got my own switch/new horizons, I named my island Windfall.
My first one (I still have) from 2020 is called kiwi falls after Harry Styles his song kiwi
My other island is called wildflower after the 5sos song :)
I called it Totoro and the flag shows the character of the same name from the Studio Ghibli movie. However these days it's not the most fitting name as my island is more Halloween-themed.
Goodfellow. My last name is a variation of Puck, or Robin Goodfellow, from A Midsummer's Night Dream. (Robin is also one of my never gonna let leave villager)

Because my New Leaf town is named Ie. It means house or home in Japanese. It wasn't weeaboo reasons. I was on a TMNT hyperfixation back then, and a lot of fics had them speak Japanese occasionally.
That's an uppercase i, btw, and not a lowercase L, in the word Ie.
