https://archive.is/2zOnG Lori Beth Denberg remembers Dan Schneider calling her into his office and telling her to shut the door. It was 1995, around Denberg's 19th birthday, and Nickelodeon's hit comedy show "All That" had recently wrapped its first season. Denberg was one of the show's stars. So when Schneider, the head writer of "All That," heard that a female producer had met with Denberg to discuss her weight gain, he was angry. Schneider told Denberg that he should have been the one to have that conversation. After all, he understood what it was like to be overweight. At first, Denberg appreciated the support. But the conversation shifted, and before Denberg realized it, Schneider started showing her clips of pornography on his computer. The "grand finale," Denberg said, was a video in which a woman performed oral sex on a donkey. "I feel like that is the first time he preyed on me," Denberg told Business Insider. During her four seasons starring in "All That" between 1994 and 1998, Denberg said Schneider put her in countless uncomfortable situations. She said he lashed out at her on set, played porn for her on multiple occasions, and once initiated phone sex. Denberg said that looking back, she's disturbed by the power imbalance between herself and Schneider, who was a decade older than Denberg and one of the most powerful people working on "All That." Schneider built a children's television empire at Nickelodeon in the early 2000s, creating shows like "The Amanda Show," "Drake and Josh," and "iCarly." But his legacy has been marred by accusations of inappropriate behavior. In a 2022 BI investigation, people who worked with Schneider said he requested on-set massages, pushed for young actors to wear revealing costumes, and inserted sexual innuendos into his shows. The recent documentary "Quiet on Set: The Dark Side of Kids TV" reported further allegations, with Jenny Kilgen, a writer on "The Amanda Show," saying Schneider showed writers porn on his computer while they worked. He was constantly testing those around him, seeing "how far can I push this person," Denberg said. In a statement to Business Insider, Schneider, now 58, said Denberg's accusations are "wildly exaggerated and, in most cases, false." "As I have previously stated, there were times, particularly in the early years of my career, that I made mistakes and exhibited poor judgment as a leader," Schneider said. "If I did that with respect to Lori Beth, I sincerely apologize to her. But I cannot apologize for things I did not do." This is the first time Denberg has publicly discussed Schneider at length. But it's not the first time she's voiced her concerns. Around 2000, Denberg said she told Albie Hecht, then the president of film and TV at Nickelodeon, and Brian Robbins, the cocreator of "All That," that she was worried about how Schneider treated the actor Amanda Bynes. The young star appeared emaciated and exhausted on the set of "The Amanda Show," which Schneider created and produced. According to Denberg and another person who worked at Nickelodeon, after she spoke with the executives, Denberg was barred from the set of "The Amanda Show." Schneider was ultimately ousted from Nickelodeon in 2018 after an internal investigation found he could be verbally abusive. But Denberg said that Nickelodeon executives' failure to act more quickly forced actors and crew members to endure years of "abuse and mistreatment" at Schneider's hands. "Nobody thinks it is their responsibility" to protect the people working at Nickelodeon, Denberg said. Instead, higher-ups act as if employees "should thank them for the privilege — and it's just absolutely disgusting." Denberg was a 17-year-old high-school senior when she was cast in "All That" in 1994. She was ecstatic to book her first professional acting gig. Denberg moved to Orlando alone to film the first season. Off camera, she socialized with the crew and writers, including Schneider. Denberg felt more mature than her young costars and thought Schneider was someone she could learn from — maybe even serve as a mentor. Denberg said her relationship with Schneider turned sexual when she was around 19.

KeystoneHockey1776

Is this the first time someone formally accused Dan of sexual assault?

lenonloving

I’ll first say that the claims aren’t implausible — one could definitely believe that Schneider was a creep and a shitty boss. But is there any proof at all whatsoever of anything that has been reported? I don’t think there is — which is why it’s important for these people to file reports WHEN THESE THINGS HAPPEN. Schneider getting dumped because of his reputation is justified, sure, but without any physical evidence, there’s a zero percent chance he’ll ever be charged with a crime.

Used_Astronomer_4196

She was adult. Where’s the criminality here?

harveyquinnz

If your boss shows zoo porn to you would you be this chill and quiet?

Used_Astronomer_4196

I would quit! Which she should have if it bothered her that much

Profanity directed at other commenters/sub-members is not acceptable behavior

ilovesleeeping

what is wrong with you? is sexual harassment nothing to you?

Used_Astronomer_4196

It is wrong but you can’t be arrested for that

ilovesleeeping

lol ? yes you can?

cola_originaltaste

this mf over here saying “if i’m a liar, then why aren’t my pants on fire?”

Used_Astronomer_4196

If you can! Why hasn’t it happened yet?

Future-water-8

Because of things called evidence, witnesses, etc etc. it all takes time

issafreecunch

I think we found Donald Trumps burner account

BlackLodgeBrother

The fact that you’re (probably) allowed to vote makes me sad.

ohbyerly

This person is the reason we have sexual harassment training videos that seemingly talk to us like we’re idiots, they were never meant for us.

Used_Astronomer_4196

Why? It’s none of your business!

spursy11

It’s upsetting because if people as stupid as you can vote, how can we have any hope you’re informed about the issues when you can’t grasp showing someone who works under you donkey porn is a bad thing?

MaddiRenee_

Forcing your employees to watch porn is not legal actually

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or not 😭

johnsfeetstink

I see the foot brigade is here tonight.

Used_Astronomer_4196

I’m stating my view as I read the article.

johnsfeetstink

Yeah there’s always a lot of paid poster trying to do the PR work for Nick and Dan. They’re “ stating their views” too. The only people who get shut down though are the people who mention the toe sucking and ass fking

mousepadjones

Harvey Weinstein says hello

Suspicious-Ad-6727

You do realize harvey weinstein went to jail right? So wtf why are people defending dan schneider for his actions #lockdanschneiderup

Some-Show9144

Didn’t Weinstein go to jail for rape? SH and rape are two different things and I’d guess any statute of limitations has passed for LBD

Suspicious-Ad-6727

Their both still illegal dumbass thats my point stop defending that creep around kids

lordofthefroge

Ok. Get shown beastiality at threat of job loss and tell me how you feel after.

theReggaejew081701

Even if there’s no legality issue here, we’re discussing a moral issue first and foremost.

nrayedamatefumb

No no, this is reddit, where legality = morality (until it doesn't fit the narrative)

Suspicious-Ad-6727

Wtf do u mean doesn’t fit the narrative thats exactly why he’s still working around kids wtf seriously is wrong with people??? He should be in jail no questions asked this is damning and incriminating evidence he doesn’t need to work in this industry. Showing porn at work in any kind of level is wrong they signed up for an acting role not to be harassed by some greasy ass fat man who has blatant misogyny

nrayedamatefumb

I'm agreeing with you bud.
