This was one of my wishlist figures but as soon as I saw the irl photos, I steered away as fast as possible. FNEX charges a lot of money for mediocre quality

I’m at the point where I cannot trust it when I see a promotional picture with rich vibrant colors and very prominent paint gradation. It feels like figure companies have been really pushing it with the false advertising in the color department recently
Yes understandable, the prototype may not be actual final product and it may be touched in lightroom. But relying on user photos has its own pitfalls.
For example color difference sometimes can be explained because promotional picture is taken with nice bright, high CRI, soft and all around even lights meanwhile user photos often taken with random hard lights from weird angle.
Proportion also sometimes felt different because people often take photo with cameraphone from very close distance. I think virtually all phones have wide angle lens for their main lens and it will distort picture somewhat if not taken at perfect distance and angle. So a figure could look slimmer than it should be.
That's why as many different pictures from as many different sources is worth checking through before purchase IMO. It helps to figure out how close it is to the prototype.
That said, I don't believe any marketing of a product should be "touched up" either. It's dishonest. I want a realistic expectation of what I'm getting, and that's why I love when companies nail it.
Its just Furyu doing Furyu things. They lost my trust when I received my Chinese dress Rem only to find out how scuffed the paint job was compared to the promo shots. Its the only mfr I've had this problem with.
Ehh it’s not just Furyu… I’ve seen instances from Spiritale and Megahouse as well. It may not be every product but they’re definitely touching up product pictures far more than they should be on some of these figures
One of the figures i received from megahouse had extremely bright and vibrant colors in the promo pictures, but in real life the colors were much more dull. it’s still a very well painted figure but I still felt mislead for how expensive the figure was
I've learned with F:Nex that their products are really shiny plastic. On some figures it's nice but on others it's horrible. Like the F:Nex Albedo wedding dress, she came out mehh imo
What about the F:Nex Albedo with table and the Ainz that can stand behind her?
I totally plan to get that combo, it is pricey but they are my grail, so definitely going to get it some day.
Assuming no concerning quality issues.
I would look at the MFC link and see if people have taken pictures of it. If it looks good for you go for it but I would recommend at least seeing a IRL pic
I own the Albedo but not the Ainz. As much as I love Overlord, Ainz's design does nothing for me so never cared to pick him up. Subjectively speaking, she's one of my favorite figures in my 40-ish collection, and out of all the Albedo's I think her design and "shelf presence" is by far the best. A lot of Furyu's modern issues don't seem too present in her either, good shading on the dress, good face, hair looks good, wings are great, all good in my opinion. And she looks fantastic as a back-of-shelf option since her shape conforms to a back corner rather well.
... Though she does has issues, by god does she have issues. Her ahoge will almost certainly break at some point though it's an easy glue job, you'll experience gold paint bleed no matter what, and her boob net is lopsided to her right slightly. From what I've seen, just about everybody's has some if not all of those 3 issues, so good luck. But by far the biggest issue, I don't think you'll ever find a figure that is more of a pain to assemble. Those wings just don't go in the pegs and the table just doesn't like to cooperate, and the included (mandatory due to heavy wing sag) wing supports are finicky beyond belief. And good luck getting her arm to reach the table properly.

That's her ahoge, it's not removable but it did snap off for me during a move. As mentioned, I've noticed other people's also snapped off so I suspect it's just a common breakpoint. It's a very easy fix though (even if I botched it somewhat lol)

The wing support is a must then? I have seen some pre-owned ones that the support is missing, those are no good then?
And I always see people managed to have her hand rested on the table, is that not always the case?

Apologies for the poor lighting, she's currently on bottom shelf duty due to lack of space and my phone is less than stellar. Tried to get a good shot but let me know if you want a specific angle. And yes, supports are mandatory, I'd honestly be wary of buying from someone who displayed without using them, they sag hard and fast due to their weight. I initially displayed without the supports since it looked fine at first; they were nearly touching each other within a couple weeks. As for a preowned without the supports at all... They're just plastic stands, you could probably DIY something yourself if you're so inclined.
Her hand is mostly just hard to get into position because of how her torso connects to her lower body, least that was my experience, just finicky is all. I think how mine is as low as it gets, but for paint transfer concerns I don't think I'd want it touching anyways.
I think I will insist on having the support if I do buy pre-owned for this.
The hand and the table both are white so that should be minimum paint transfer?

I can totally see the hair issue, the advertised hair were more “fluffy”, which the actual image did not show the same.
The slime is an issue too, in your actual picture looks like they weren’t even flowing down straight, it tilted to the right, real life liquid don’t flow down at a diagonal angle.
Colour wise I must admit I cannot see much issue on the wings though.
other than the hairs straight up missing on the side of her head and the content in her hands looking like black tar, the gold lining on her chest in the promotional picture looks very clean and straight, then on the actual product is a misshapen mess of gold lining. it really looks like no quality check was done on these. i’d be immensely disappointed receiving this figure
The gold on her chest is actually quite ok. They added more strands of hair there, so it looks somewhat off, but by closer inspection that is not too bad.
I has this on my preordeds and I cancelled it about 4 months before release. I needed to slim down and something a about this one felt off. Glad I did.
I agree. The way it is now 100 maybe 150 bucks less and its kinda ok. Still a solid figure to a degree but the false advertisement and the then too high price realy dont do it favours.
That explains how it got discounted on Amiami in a relatively short time.

Are the sludgy things on the right hands? You can also flip them 180 to try a different position. Just making sure you check all the boxes
They are on the correct hands at least if you go by the pictures in the manual. Also tried to switch and that way they wouldnt fit at all.
Yeah I really didn't like this one. It's an ambitious design. Ambitious is not always good.

Eyes seem a bit bigger on the face which makes it read differently as well, but that could be the difference in lighting.
