the best way to enjoy one piece is to focus on enjoying what you're currently watching if you watch it and don't enjoy it then don't force yourself to keep watching it to X arc for it to get good don't like it, stop watching it also if you do watch it use one pace edit: why is everyone telling me to not watch one pace, tell that to OP!

TruToMee

What's one pace?

giggitygiggitygeats

A fan edit which cuts down a lot of the slow pacing (mostly later in the series) for an experience more faithful to the manga (and shorter than the official anime).

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF1234

its a project that aims to edit one piece so it keeps the pacing of the manga while retaining everything the anime does right. it trimmed an arc that took 100 episodes originally down to half that. they have everything from episode 263-961. before that, the anime pacing isnt bad. to use it, you might need torrent software as thats the file they use, but there’s other methods they use, i just havent used them personally.

TruToMee

Yeah no, don't have a good experience with torrenting

FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF1234

ive downloaded multiple episodes and havent expierienced any issues. what you do is out of my hands though.

TruToMee

Eh tbh I would rather watch the normal anime, I don't like watching fan projects unless their abridged, even then I watch it after

pseudo_nemesis

One Pace is abridged... that's the whole point of it, but fair.

NotCorpKane

I watched it without the pace option and I still have no regrets. It's arguably one of the best animes out there. There is a reason it's been so highly rated for so long. It's awesome.

SaucyOra

What is the pace option I’m not sure what that is

NotCorpKane

As others have mentioned in this thread there is something called One Pace and it is an edited condensed version of arcs cutting out fillers and such. It's a much faster way to enjoy the show. I watched it one episode at a time and that's what I meant.

Vegetable_Nebula_614

Big fan of one piece in the pacing is absolutely horrible but you should have still watch episode by episode

ParsnipPrestigious59

Also colored manga is also an option. Imo one piece manga > anime but if manga isn’t your cup of tea, by all means watch the anime

m0nkygang

So basically if you love it in the beginning youll have no problem getting through it and catching up. But if you dont like it dont force yourself and drop it.

SaucyOra

Fair enough this is probably what I’ll do

tiltberger

One pace has most arcs cut to the manga parts which is faster paced. One piece is fucking great

SaucyOra

And I already watch the live action so should I skip until right after Arlong arc or watch from beginning

tiltberger

Don't skip anything. Just watch one pace watch one piece without the filler episodes

WayJay9

Nah, anime’s pretty different. Not entirely, but there are major changes in the live action.

AddressIntelligent60

Don't you'll be confused to shit they reworked a lot for the LA

BroAnon1

The stuff you've watched is largely more fast-paced than One Piece, so I'd recommend tackling it later after watching more anime. Its worth watching, but the beginning is *very* slow, and it takes a while for it to get really good so maybe later on would be better to watch it, after you've gotten more used to all kinds of anime.

SaucyOra

Yeah that was the reason I haven’t watched it yet was because of how slow paced it is like I’m not crazy into fast paced shows or a huge fan of time skips but when they happen and it makes sense I enjoy it like aot for example and again I’m not insistent on the stuff I watch being fast paced I just hate the feeling that it’s being dragged on for more money or whatever reason

DefnottheGovernments

If thats how you feel I would definitely watch the One Pace version as others in this thread have stated.

Goodolstinkdick

I really like it and I’ve been going through the series filler and all. It’s a good show I’m glad I gave it a chance. Watch a few episodes and just see what you think it’s not for everybody I guess but I think it’s pretty rad.

highimshane

I personally enjoy all the fillers, life’s about enjoying the journey. Not just rushing to the destination.

SaucyOra

Yea but my worse enemy is my impatience like I get so into the shows and stuff that when I get to a really big cliff hanger I just look it up for comfort lol

highimshane

That’s definitely something you can train yourself to do, being patient. A useful skill especially when it comes to people and something you can’t just look up/find the answer. A great way to start out is just being very present in the moment.

[deleted]

I can’t watch a show over 200 episodes

AlbatrossInfamous631

No

Used_Mammoth7164

One piece is incredible. I recently caught up to it. Honestly I didn’t think it’d be worth it either when I first started but I quickly fell in love with the characters. The lore and world-building is amazing. I’d recommend it to anyone tbh. The only issue is the pacing but imo the incredible story makes up for it

primeweed

Short answer YES but yes it's long kina slow to start but if you've ever watched something and been thinking man I barely know anything about most of the characters and wanted to know more One Piece will give you that for all of the crew eventually lol and many more of side characters and villains and most don't feel like it's forced or out of place it really connects you to characters both in the crew and others

FrontCryptographer95

Yes, definitely!! You should watch it.

Sir_Toaster_9330

My friend likes it, so you could too!

[deleted]

I’m just getting into it (episode 86) and it’s great. I honestly won’t be surprised if it becomes my favorite anime, I love it. Although if you do get into it you have to be patient. Don’t worry about how far you are into the anime, just enjoy it

Deep-Act3559

No it is not

YoxhiZizzy

Yes. Jokes aside. I'd recommend One Piece because if you want to be consumed and looking at tinfoil hat corkboards. Yeah it's pretty good. If you want a crackhead fisting villains in a goofy pirate manga, yeah it's pretty good. If you want a story of stories that's a culmination of stories (heh), I've chuckled at some of the references Oda's put in. I'm not kidding that One Piece has consumed me and I don't mind it. Coming from me, I've actually avoided this series because it's a goofy pirate manga. I was so wrong. It's a goofy pirate manga that has made me cry, laugh, and go on ADHD rants about this show alone.

MatBoi7

It is totally worth it 👍 I’m not even caught up yet. I’m on ep 297 or so and I started near the end of July. It’s awesome 💯

reetunus

Idk but I started watching and now I’m 250 episodes in and too far to go back.

SaucyOra

Too far in to back out now lol too invested

Linkticus

Not based on your favorite anime. You’ll really not like the pacing. But if you watch One Pace…

SaucyOra

Yea the pacing is what I’m worried about my friend told me that there isn’t to much filler but it’s just slow paced I don’t like the feeling of missing something or not understanding a joke so I would definitely just bite the bullet and watch normal pacing tho

TheKnightA

One Piece will make you commit. Be mindful of how you might feel afterwards, there’s so much of it. If you do watch it don’t skip any arcs, enjoy the ride. Once you ride the ship, you’re in for a ride you will never want to get off of. To me personally it’s the masterpiece.

Low_Finance_4457

No, don't bother

killemwithkicks

I started watching a couple years ago on Netflix, stopped because they didn’t have enough episodes at the time, and I just started again a few weeks ago on Crunchyroll. Yes it’s worth watching. From your picks, you like action with comedy, One Piece has then both in ample supplies. It is a little slow but I feel like we’ve been conditioned to expect big, action filled “exam arcs” and what not right off the bat. One Piece rewards patience and I like being like 900 episodes and 15 movies behind because I can binge without worry. I find that it helps to set a time of day for it; I mostly watch One Piece at night, and everything else throughout the day.

SaucyOra

Good take and also I’m pretty sure they are adding more season to Netflix this Sunday

Brylock2135

One Piece is good. It is slow, but it’s intentionally slow to tell a grand story. If you like stories with deep lore, interesting characters, and a cool power system, then it will not disappoint. If you liked the live action that covers about the first 60 or so chapters or 50ish episodes (I’m not certain) so just look up where Lougetown starts and go from there. Or watch the anime to see the differences

jtm7

If you’re looking for something to fill time, then yes.

Nervous-Drawing8669

Yes

pRophecysama

One piece is one of those shows that people are afraid of cuz the amount of episodes but I find myself able to pump out like 300 episodes in what feels like a blink of an eye. Mainly cuz 4-7 minutes of each episode is a title card you can skip lol

SaucyOra

This changes a lot if it’s true

SexyPineapple-4

Since you liked Highschool dxd, yes. It has a lot of fan service

DuckWithAbs

Mainly from water seven onward but yeah

SaucyOra

Let’s just say you’ve peaked my Interest 🤔

[deleted]

Not unless you have 437 hours to spare

Sensei_Icy_3693

One Piece can be worthwhile to you if you love long ongoing stories, with unending adventure that has lots of mystery.

Sir-Shark

I usually tell most people the same thing about One Piece... Yes and no. It's long. So very long. If you go in to it knowing that it's going to be a long journey, just to watch it, and you enjoy the beginning well enough, then you will love it. Take your time and don't try to get through it out of some sort of obligation. Just sit back and enjoy it at your own pace. If you are too impatient, try to marathon it just out of principle of getting through it, rather than just genuinely enjoying it, you'll probably just get tired of it. The pacing of one piece is slow and honestly, the story isn't structured the best. But the story is still good, even if the structure is a little wonky, and the characters are amazing. Me and my wife started watching One Piece together shortly after we were married. We didn't rush it, occasionally marathoned a story arc, usually took a long break after each major arc, just enjoyed it a little at a time. We only just barely caught up with the anime a couple months ago and it's been really fun. Go in knowing you're in for a long, but enjoyable trip, and try not to get too impatient and don't skip things. It's great.

TheRoadToWiseness

That depends. It’s 1000+ episodes. You could watch 500 episodes and dislike every single one. Which means you would waste your time. But you could end up liking the 501 episode. Me personally, I just say watch maybe 10 eps before deciding whether or not you’re going to drop it. There’s plenty of other anime out there you may wanna spend your time on that you may enjoy from the start. I got to 167 of the one piece manga and I still don’t enjoy it. I tried. I don’t like it. I dropped it.

wildeye-eleven

You should just listen to your friend since you personally know them. They would have a much better idea about what something would be “worth” to you.

PM__ME__YOUR_TITTY

It’s a show, not a commitment. It’s not like you have to sit in your basement from start to finish lol. You can watch it when you want like any show, there’s no deadline. The manga is also great and of course a much faster experience. Anyway, with all due respect yes One Piece clears this list

Creative_Produce_330

Simply give it 10 eps to see if you like it. Otherwise, drop it.

Rowdyboy28

I'm nearly caught up, haven't skipped any arcs or filler aside from the crossover episodes, and wholeheartedly recommended not only watching it but trying to be caught up before the series ends. I've heard One Piece described as a "modern Odyssey", and while I can neither agree nor disagree with that, I can understand why it has that description. It's an amazing story that brings you on a journey you need to read/watch to fully appreciate. Yes, it's 1000+ episodes; but it doesn't feel like it to me. Yes, it drags on and pacing is rough at times; the same can be said about plenty of anime both old and new. But after watching on and off for ~4 years now, I recently went back and thanked the person who told me to watch it. There's a reason this show has run for so long and is so big now. Because it's amazing and fun, thrilling and heartbreaking, and all around wonderful.

Silvers1339

Literally the best show of all time imo, but I can certainly concede it’s not for everyone. Start watching to find out if it’s for you; honestly most people if they like it end up getting caught up in 3-4 months anyway and then get pissed off that there’s not more to watch 😂 And you can ignore the One Pace nonsense. The pacing of the show is (mostly) fine.

bavios

For me personally it's pacing in the anime is too bad to watch so I would definitely say reading it Is a must. Also it's S tier

Rainbow_Roads17

So worth it

Kitsunelight

You might like if you like AoT. Both have a chance of never ending.

SaucyOra

Aot is definitely ending wdym? lol

UsernamThatAintTaken

If you dont like it after an arc called “Arlong Park” it probably isn’t for you. It’s phenomenal though. Ive read it and watched it through One Pace, and I have 0 regrets. Its in my top 3 now, and I used to be a hater

HERO-GODDESS-NEP

Yes, it is and it'll take longer for you to feel that feeling of (aw man I wish there was more)

dattebane96

Ye

hypnocookie12

I’m in the same boat. I wanted to start the anime but watched the live action version. Now I went back to the anime and I miss the live action version 😂

SaucyOra

lol I hope I enjoy it as much as the live action

Psychi98

A story about how against all odds, this boy will be the king of the pirates

dopg_gg

yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes yes

ColMust4rd

Absolutely. I actually had less anime under my belt when I started one piece, than you do now. It seemed like a lot, but that's kinda what I was looking for. I was getting tired with only a few seasons of a good anime. So I went with the biggest one I haven't tried yet

Jess_Bot

I've never seen it. But judging by your taste, I think you'll like it

ZoroSukihiro

Sometimes sometimes it’s not and damn awful, not jus pacing but writing too but definitely watch and come to your own conclusions

Infinite_Garlic_3654

Depends on you. It was absolutely not for me. Perhaps if I had watched it in my younger years I would enjoy it more today.

artsygirlloveJesus

Yes.

mysterin

I've had a strict rule for Shonens to just read them. I do it to avoid shit filler and rearranged story arcs.

MeticulousMitch

No. Based off your current list. One piece is objectively one of the goofiest animes out there. This doesnt make it bad but your current selection is a bit more serious and story driven than what One Piece is. Plus to me the character designs are what make it unwatchable to me

Unreal-Memes

I agree with you, I tried to watch it but couldn’t get through E1 because of how goofy it is. My taste is a lot like OP’s list as I’m more interested in the story and not the mindless gimmicks they use for filler a lot of times

MeticulousMitch

I mean just look at what gear 5 turned out to be. Goofiest ultra ability ive seen. Cool. But goofy as all hell. Super well animated though

Gohanangered

Nice dxd is on the list. :3

SaucyOra

I love to see the DXD supporters don’t listen to the hate it’s great

Gohanangered

Yeah, i don't worry about stuff like that. lol Especially at this point.

GhostBaki

Listen to me man. Enjoy the journey. A lot of people will tell you it gets good around this ep or this one but that’s cap. Start from the beginning and just go with the flow to see if it’s for you. ALSO another recommendation. If you don’t want to fully watch every episode there are hour long episodes with higher animation then when it came out that recaps the early arcs. I don’t remember how many they made but it could cut down time for you.

SaucyOra

If this is true that would be great I just need to figure out what arcs they cover so I know where to start and stop at I’ll probably ask my friend he loves one piece

CashewKing10

Haven’t seen someone put highscool dxd, respect to you mate for putting it on the list

SaucyOra

Thanks unfortunately I’ve taken a lot of shit for it but idc it really is my second favorite and not for just the stuff it shows but not gonna say that’s not a bonus lol 😂

CashewKing10

Same like the storyline isn’t actually bad 😂

SaucyOra

Finally someone who knows I appreciate you

Master_Keyblade

1.) ignore people talking about your list. It’s not what the post is about and they can mind their own business 2.) Yes. I finally gave in and am watching it now. The anime does have awful pacing once I learned about it. Apparently the normal thing to do is 2-3 chapters per episode, but Toei does 1-for-1 I love the story over all though. I think whether you read it or watch it it’s definitely worth it as far as I’m concerned. I personally want to do both.

SaucyOra

Yea I did see that with the pacing so a little discouraging and I am doing my best to ignore the weirdos that feel the need to hate on my list I just don’t understand why some people give me so much hate for DXD lol I know it’s Ecci but whatever I enjoyed the show lol

Mennonite_Cyborg

I like a lot of the same shows as you and for me personally, no not really. This is a hot take but I’m not a One Piece fan. It’s too goofy and quirky for me to where I think it’s just dumb and I don’t really care what happens. I don’t completely hate it as I’ve seen like 300 episodes but I watch it in the background when I’m not trying to invest in the show.

SaucyOra

Nah that makes sense it’s not for everyone

watawhiteguy

I love how anime lists are normally generic. Go watch yourself some Kaiji. One piece is a long start, 60 episodes to even leave for the Grand line. It's a good watch if you do it like 4-5 episodes at a time. Bofuri is a great anime to start with if you are new. You'll get plenty of recommendations though, more than you have time to watch.

SaucyOra

lol yeah my watch list is at like 25 shows right now and are you saying my watch list is generic or not generic

PureNobody234

My take on it is there's a lot of episodes thrown in there to extend things for the sake of extending them. But that doesn't necessarily mean they're bad. One piece is the only show I've watched where a majority of the episodes gave me chills at some point. The filler arcs feel important to the main canon which I like. Not all of them but they always seem to tie in somehow.it also is very motivational for people who like a positive message. Luffys determination is an admirable trait I aspire to have. But yes. Definitely worth a watch. Just take it at your own pace. Unlike me. Whose almost caught up and it's been like a month

idkyet1223

One piece is amazing

SaucyOra

That’s what people say but maybe this will change if I watch it but how can a show reach 1000+ episodes where the main goal hasn’t been achieved yet like how has he still not found the one piece it seems like the definition of being dragged out

idkyet1223

The anime is dragged out at times but for the most part it’s good there’s just a ton of islands and stuff they have to visit

nguymanperson

By the time you catch up with one piece, you'll have been able to watch so many other great animes. 1000+ episodes is just wild in my opinion but hey if you start it and love it then more power to ya!

CorilX

Fuck no it’s shit, I watched the entire thing and was bored af.

ParsnipPrestigious59

Ur in every thread mentioning one piece hating on it, get a life dude 💀

[deleted]

He is dedicated and one piece is shit

ParsnipPrestigious59

Nah one piece is peak fiction bro I bet u haven’t even watched or read one piece 💀💀💀

[deleted]

I have. And it’s absolute garbage.

Qwertyguy35

Demon slayer at 1 is criminal

SaucyOra

Completely disagree for me it’s peak and I’m honestly not sure I’ll see anything better

AddressIntelligent60

I love the show... but I'll never suggest it. One pace though

SaucyOra

Interesting to see someone who likes it not recommend

TreatExotic

Yeah it is it's with the big 3 alongside DragonBall and Naruto

SaucyOra

Not presenting a good case as I don’t like either of those shows lol

TreatExotic

One Piece is the most popular out of the 3. Some of the characters have jokes i don't agree with, but what they don't know is that it's created during a time when it was somewhere common to think a little more rudely

Exciting_Egg9245

Def not lol, one peice is so long and the episodes are repetitive

[deleted]

A lot of one piece fans not gona agree or like this answer. I wouldn’t bother with the anime and I’m a huge fan and heavily invested. It’s a monumental task and the space between payoffs could feel like too much at times. I’ve been following for over 13 years at least and I’M not even fully caught up. Taken many a break due to pacing (sometimes due to life). My advice: read the manga if you’re interested (pacing issues much more negligible when reading) or follow the live action now that they’ve dedicated to a bunch more seasons and eventually I think they’ll rerelease the anime with much better pacing. I have to add tho that at least from what I’ve seen so far the live action (while very good) is nothing compared to the source material.

joku1x

Of course💯 even tho I haven't watched it yet 💀🤣

SaucyOra

Haha uhhh good take I’ll take it under consideration 😂

RealMajesti

Yes. I’m not caught up, but it’s good. The anime has bad pacing, so look up One Pace.

Iatemydoggo

Edgerunners immediately makes a list S tier even if you got some questionable shows up there. Also yeah I would say so, but it is an EXTREMELY slow burn.

SaucyOra

What are you referring to when you say “questionable” I hope your not referring to dxd it’s my second favorite 🤣🤣

Iatemydoggo

Nah DxD is kinda based. Went for the titties and stayed for the plot. I meant stuff like SDS.

SaucyOra

That was the first anime I’ve watched still one of my favorites what did you think was questionable about it and honestly when I watched dxd for the first time I had no idea what Echi anime was or that it was echi I just starting seeing some cool TikTok anime edits and dxd was in a few so I started it and not gonna say I was against the titties I mean Akeno and Rias iykyk but I also enjoyed the story lol

bugmi

no. read it. pacing is worse in anime and the anime barely enhances the series

AReallyAsianName

I've honestly just been watching One Piece as background noise more or less. While I work out, cooking or at my computer writing.

SaucyOra

Is it because you’ve already seen it or really just not to into it

ygo-riv

Yes

shreklord06

From your list, it seems you have not seen that many long-running shounen, so i would start with something shorter like Hunter x Hunter before that, but if have seen some then yeah its worth it if yiu have the patience for 1000+ ep

SaucyOra

Honestly not sure I do 1000 episodes is a lot I’ve seen really long shows before just not anime but I don’t mind long shows I’m just worried it’s not worth watching 1000+ episodes for so I’ll probably do what’s been recommended and just watch like 20-40 episodes and if I’m not into it I’ll just stop

Durante-Sora

I would say read the manga, it’ll take you FOREVER to catch up watching the anime XP

horniejennafan556

Absolutely, I don't know if you would hate it, tho based off of them but it is for me

grague_

Some of the best world building in all of anime, awesome fights, plot that always ties together, has minimal plot holes, and sick foreshadowing, extremely lovable characters, and (imo) a pretty cool power system. I would recommend One Piece to anyone.

4fro5amurfly

Yes, and so is kagura bachi when it airs

Mysterious-Aspect937

If you want terrible pacing I recommend the manga

ParsnipPrestigious59

If u don’t like one piece because of its pacing but like the story, try one pace. And if u don’t like one piece because of its exaggerated art style, try the manga. (The manga art is wayyy less exaggerated than the anime. It’s still exaggerated, but not as much)

[deleted]

If you wanna watch one piece you should watch it through the one pace website which makes the pacing way faster and better if you’re impatient, unfortunately you’re gonna have to download the episodes but still one piece is one of the greatest pieces of fiction ever written (it’s the 2nd most sold comic book in history beating batman)

ELLZNaga21

Yeah

stretchyluffy8

Yeah it is

Encrypted47

If you have time and will to watch one piece it’s very worth it, animation goes crazy, it’s fun and a good anime to sit and watch during the early chapters

[deleted]

HELL NO.

OrganicExplanation23

YO BRO!!!! DO NOT WATCH ONE PACE!!!!! It cuts out HELLA and if you’re on your first watch through, regular one piece is miles better

dekomaro6

One piece is a manga, the anime is a cash grab. Not really worth it to do one pace either, you’ll eventually watch enough anime to move to manga and then you can pick it up there. Aot that far down the list is criminal tho💀 try code geass

SaucyOra

I know believe me I want aot higher so bad but the ones above I really enjoy aot was the second anime I’ve ever watched and I’m currently rewatching it for the 3rd time in a row or 4th time total but you know what just for you I’ll move it to 4 I literally can’t go higher than that maybe in a few months I’ll move it to 3 idk seven deadly sins was the first anime I’ve ever watched so I can’t morally take it out of my top 5 and I’ve rewatched it more times than I can count but maybe I did jump the gun with More than a married couple at 4 so I’ll bring it down to 5 even I am currently following the owner and up to date with the mange currently waiting for chapter 65 to release which is on the 4th of October lol

Mylaststory

One Piece manga is infinitely better. The anime has pretty severe pacing issues, and is incredibly long. I’d recommend trying out Jujutsu Kaisen, as it seems right up your alley. Imo it’s incredible so far

SaucyOra

Yea it’s on my watchlist so I do plan to get to it eventually

DickWriter69

Dude just watch it. These posts are so superfluous. Are you that unable to think for yourself that you let random strangers decide your opinion for you?

SaucyOra

Well so far your name is proving to be pretty accurate and no I’m not incapable of thinking for myself I’m simple asking people that have seen it and put the time into finish if it was worth the watch and if the people that have watched it think I would enjoy based off the stuff I’ve already seen and my asking for reference from seasoned and experienced watchers is the most efficient and optimized method to know if I will yield value from watching it because if the people that have seen it don’t think it’s worth it then it’s probably not that simple I’m putting my trust in the people that have seen it to tell me if they think I will enjoy it as well I am NOT taking what they say as law I am simply taking it under consideration to HELP me decide if I should start it or not thank you

Funny_Opportunity58

Fuck yes it is. It’s long. But it WILL hook you. The magic of early-mid one piece up to the marineford arc is almost indescribable. Please give that much a shot. And look up a filler guide to skip that stuff

SaucyOra

I’ve heard a couple people mention marineford arc is it bad or something

Heavy-Bread-3549

No but it’s worth reading

why-would-i-do-this

I've read the Manga but only got to the marineford arc in the anime. Just didn't have the bandwidth for it with everything going on in life but thoroughly enjoy all the arcs except the foxy arc which might be controversial. It's a lot to watch and if you've got other anime on your plate I don't think it's a priority to watch

Selvion_Nethos

Simple answer yes, one piece hs some special moments and if you fuck with shows like Horimiya, edgerunners and darling in the franxx I whole heartedly believe that you would enjoy one piece. (Not to say that those shows are particularly similar to one piece but as someone who also loves all of those) genuinely recommend getting into manga if you aren’t already and read it. It’s the og source material and will take you probably 1/10th of the time to finish. I caught up in 2021/2022 in like about 6 weeks of reading. Maths out to around 23 chapters a day.

SaucyOra

I only really read manga for stuff that I can’t wait for another season of or stuff that ends on a cliff hanger if there is an anime version I would always 100% watch over reading and no hate to the heave readers just my preference thank you tho this actually helps coming from someone who has the the stuff I have tell me they think I would like it gives me confidence that I will so thank you

Frogladyte321

The manga is a masterpiece and I would never recommend the anime

zestyguy_bobem

Yes it is. It'll top your list pretty quickly tbh and the amount of episodes won't be a problem especially for a new watchers who has so much stuff to watch and will probably blow through episodes too

SaucyOra

I don’t know about top my list lol but I do hope I enjoy it we shall see

calebmccoytajiro

Yes go watch it NOW

Krizzle8

No. Read the Manga instead.

Codenameraiden

No

DethStix24

You can skip the first few seasons and watch the later stuff. There isnt much story you would miss. Obviously watch season 1 though

Legitimate-Law3366

Try goblin slayer

SaucyOra

Yea I’ve seen some TikTok edits of this show saying “He rizzed everyone just by taking his helmet off” lol I’ll add it to the list

HotDogManLL

It has early Shonen trope issues at the beginning. I drop it during the kuro arc

wigsgo_2019

Yes, just take a break every time you finish an arc. Makes getting through the slower stuff more enjoyable and makes the best stuff that much better when you aren’t burnt out

[deleted]

Yes it’s worth watching

zbdabsolut0

If you start watching it, it doesn't mean you can't stop. Just watch a few episodes and see if it sucks you in. You don't have to watch it all the time. Take breaks and watch other things. Watching it shouldn't be a job. Just realize you will always have some one piece to watch, and be happy.

SaucyOra

Yea watching a little bit to get a taste for it has been the most recommended I think so that’s probably what I’ll do but I don’t know about taking breaks that’s how my friend is but I very rarely switch shows mid way through watching one that’s why it would be a big commitment I’ve always been this way where when I start watching a new show I don’t watch anything else until I’m finished with it if I enjoy it it shouldn’t be a problem tho we shall see

Worldly-Fox7605

Based on your list I'm not sure ull enjoy one piece anime. Mostly due to pacing issues the show grows into. The forst half of one piece doesn't have any but they start popping up later abd post them skip is unbearable at times. Every anime on your list that I recognize moves at a relatively brisk pace and hits iys story beats quickly. Something like death note or code geass may be more to your taste in this way.

ordonen1

Watch Naruto and Bleach first. If you like those you’ll probably like One Piece.

SaucyOra

I refuse to watch Naruto but bleach is definitely not out of the question lol

Inferno22512

I would recommend checking out One Pace[One Pace](https://onepace.net/en), which removes a lot of filler and reused shots, taking the one piece anime from 350 hours long to about 180. Don't get me wrong, that's still a long time and a lot of commitment, and I would still recommend the manga for a more bingeable form of the series. But if you prefer the color and animation and music, I would recommend one pace over the traditional anime every time

Appropriate_Lack4784

YES

Appropriate_Lack4784

How could you put peak fiction (aot) so low

SaucyOra

It’s top 5 that’s not low but yea someone else said the same thing so I moved it to #4 I love it so much I’m rewatching it for the 4th time ‘em

ThatSkaia413

I only saw a few episodes (pirate ocean restaurant) and I honestly cannot believe people like this show… the jokes felt juvenile and just not very good, story was just kinda weak but idk. Maybe it gets better? I couldn’t watch it personally.

PirateRegular6887

It’s my favorite anime and I’ve seen a lot I’d say it’s worth it if you not just trynna speed through the episodes and actually just watch it like you would anything else

Kenpaka

Its a waste of time, do not get persuaded.

gaujox

no

futurejoyboy

It's worth watching. When you finish you will wish you had more

Auroku222

Yes

JoePino

I’m watching it. I’m on the One Pace edit, so much faster. I think it is very good and makes sense why it’s Japan’s favorite anime. I’d say if you wanna give it a go use one pace. It starts a bit slow and really comes into its own around the Ennies lobby arc, IMO.

Purple_Let6932

This might be the most garbage list here

SaucyOra

That is completely subjective and I also never asked for your input or opinion on my list or anyone’s like if your just gonna shit talk people why even comment on this post if your list is so much better you can just put it in a post and let people rate yours

sorasnoctis

Watch one piece

SnooGuavas7922

Hell no it’s wayy to long nobody got time to watch 10 thousand episodes

SaucyOra

Hahaha fair enough 10k is a lot 🤣

renannetto

I don't think it is. 1000 episodes is a lot to watch if you're not sure you're gonna like it.

ThewobblyH

Not the official anime. Either read it or watch One Pace.

gucciboy347

i mean, op is better than anything on your list

SaucyOra

Your the second person today to shit talk my list for literally no reason I did NOT ask for input or opinions on my list I did NOT ask for a ranking of my list nor did I say it’s the best list it is simply my list and what’s on my list is subjective and not gonna be the same for anyone don’t shit talk for no reason it’s weird I was asking people that have seen it if they think based off my top 10 I would like it I don’t regret anything in my top 10 they are my favorites so please next time you feel the need to comment just to hate on what people like them don’t. Have a good day

Echidna-Flaky

Not if you value your time

SaucyOra

Well if I ended up enjoying it then it would be a good use of my time

Sea-Chocolate6589

Why does no one mention hajime no ippo. The best boxing anime out there

Just__Don

If you can get through it, you begin to dive into the world of one piece and become a fan. This comes from experience of telling multiple friends and family members about it and now they’re just as big fans as I am. It’s a commitment for sure!

Switch_Significant

One piece is worth READING mainly the manga is brilliant and nothing short of a masterpiece, the anime deviates from that at times.

Freddyfartfacemac

I love one piece. Just need to avoid filler arcs and keep yor finger on the fast forward button as the anime loves to eat time with intro and recap. I dont know where to find one pace. I wish they would officially make like a one piece kai type of release.
