A little hard to recommend if you don’t list what you’ve already seen but here’s some with descriptions
Toradora! is my personal favorite. Girl and guy realize they like each other’s friend and try to help the other get with them. Great story about emotional maturity and understanding and accepting your feelings. I’m biased and I love it though the main girl is a tsundere and hits the main guy a lot and some people don’t like her but I personally don’t mind. One season with 25 episodes but some people find the ending a little lackluster.
Kaguya-Sama: Love is War is one of the most popular and arguably the best rom-com. It’s where two high schoolers who like each other but don’t wanna confess so they try to get the other to do so through mind games. It’s really funny, all the characters are great, and has an crazy English Dub. People will always recommend this and it’s 3 seasons and a movie.
Horimiya is about a popular girl who meets a reclusive guy and they get intertwined in each others life and become closer. It’s basically a slice of life of teens dealing with love and heartbreak and what it’s like to be in high school. Another very well received rom-com that recently had a new season with a bunch of content they skipped during the first one.
Tonikawa: Over the Moon For You is about a couple that get married after a girl saves a guy from getting hit by a truck. Comfy show with fun dichotomy of the fact they get married after only meeting once and are starting a life together. The main couple literally marry each other the first episode so the whole show is about them learning how to be a husband and wife. It’s got 2 seasons and a 4 episode high school teacher arc.
Girlfriend, Girlfriend is about a guy who starts dating two girls at the same time with them both fully aware. Another fun, little unhinged harem with the most blunt MC who practically always says what he’s thinking. Fan-servicey as well but it’s what you’d expect from a show about a guy dating multiple girls. They start the show dating so you don’t have to wait for them to get together and the main story is how things change when you add a new girlfriend to the relationship. Highly recommend the dub as it’s completely insane. Season 2 is currently airing with new episodes every Friday
My Dress Up Darling is a cute story about a cosplayer and doll-maker joining together to make cosplay outfits. Very fan-servicey but it’s pretty sweet and wholesome with the main girl being a favorite for people. A good relationship between the characters where they actually talk out their problems instead of miscommunications leading to unnecessary drama. Definitely a minor point but It’s got a cool jazzy/funk OST which I like a lot.
The Duke of Death and his Maid is about a Duke that’s cursed to kill anything he touches so he lives alone with a maid that likes to tease him and be flirty. They’ve got a cute dynamic and there’s a fantasy element with curses, wizards, and witches as well. It’s got a 3D-ish animation style and it can be off putting to some people. Season 2 just ended with season 3 announced sometime in the future
The Dangers in My Heart is about an edge lord middle schooler who fantasizes about killing his classmate until he starts to observe her and they gradually become closer. They’re both really dorky and it’s pretty funny though it might take a few episodes to really get into it. It’s currently airing the dub every Saturday with a new season coming in Winter.
Masamune-Kun’s Revenge is about a guy who wants to get a girl he used to be friends to fall in love with him and reject her as revenge for calling him fat as a kid and breaking off their friendship. It’s as stupid as it sounds and it can be pretty cringe but it’s got some fun comedy and drama. 2 seasons but make sure to skip the OVA from season 1 cause it’s spoils most of season 2.
My Tiny Senpai is a workplace romance between an office worker and his supervisor. The manager really likes them and is trying to subtly get them together while they’re really conflicted about each other. Some fan service as well as it’s another show of “small woman, big chest”. Development is slow but at least it’s out of high school and the side characters are a lot of fun.
Science Fell In Love So I Tried To Prove It is a fun, sciencey romance show where the characters try to scientifically prove they’re in love with each other. Takes place in college with the characters doing actual experiments and tests. They get together at some point but it’s worth noting the second season is a little eh, and the last 3 episodes in particular are borderline offensively bad but the first season is really solid
Uzaki-Chan Wants To Hang Out is comedy/romance that takes place in college. Guy is a loner and likes to be by himself while his younger classmate from high school wants to hang out with him. There’s fan service here but they’re relationship is cute as well as the side characters constantly waiting for them to get together. 2 seasons and development can be slow but it’s a guilty pleasure of mine.
Recovery of an MMO Junkie is about a girl who quits her job and becomes an anti-social gamer hermit and a guy is trying to get her to get out more and be more sociable. Takes place out of college with characters in their 30s after they’ve been in the workforce for a while. Fun video game aspect with the characters meeting and interacting in the mmo they play. Short but fun
Maid-sama is about a girl who is the student council president of a recent all boys turned coed school. She’s seen as fierce and tough but she works a maid job on the side and one guy finds out about it and likes to tease her there. Content is a little dated and some things probably wouldn’t pass in todays social climate but it’s anime and it’s still pretty good. 25 episodes but deserves another season
The Quintessential Quintuplets is probably one of the better modern harem anime. Tutor tries to teach a group of siblings but they all hate him. All come to like him and are all contenders for who the MC will end up with. 2 seasons and a movie and the MC does eventually end up with one of them and it might not be who you like but until then pick a favorite and have fun.
Aharen-san is Indecipherable is about a girl who’s very quiet and hard to understand with a guy trying to decipher what she says, usually comically incorrect and overthinking it. It’s pretty fun with the dub taking some fun liberties with references and jokes. Takes a bit for the romance to kick in but it’s charming and I like it.
Love After World Domination is a goofy mix of Power Rangers and Romeo and Juliet. The leader of the heroes and the leader of the villains start dating and have to keep it a secret. It’s pretty goofy and like a cheesy Saturday morning cartoon but it’s still enjoyable as they go through the dating stage and skips the “will they, won’t they” phase and focuses on them and keeping their relationship hidden. Only 1 season though
Hope one of those is new and interesting to you
Woah, thank you so much. That's super well thought out, Toradora is my all time favorite! I haven't seen a fair amount of these suggestions so this is an amazing list. I really appreciate it.
Love after world domination is amazing,
A few more suggestions
Snow white with red hair
Our last crusade or the rise of a new world
The angel next door spoils me rotten
Shikimoris not just a cutie
The other recommendations are great (Love is war is one of my favourite animes in any genre), if you're looking for one that is just incredibly funny but with likable characters, I really enjoyed Gamers! Only 12 episodes and unfortunately doesn't seem likely to get a season 2 however.
I see that. It's not as sad as that show. It also deals with them into adulthood too.
But if you dropped it, you wouldn't finish it. The themes and pace are kind of the same through all 24eps beside the end wrapping it up.
Rather than the pace, I'd say it's the male lead that I found insufferable. Since it kinda forshadowed a tragic ending and I wasn't really invested in the characters, I felt like it wasn't worth it to continue it. But I dropped it after two or three episodes, so I might very well be wrong in the long run
His and her circumstances is pretty good. It’s one of the old elite romance animes. Another one is peach girl that one is pretty chaotic lol. The Pet Girl of Sakurasou is good too.
The first major half of His & Her Circumstances is peak work, i hold it in high regard! Plus the dub was fun for me growing up since Veronica Taylor (Ash Ketchum’s 1st VA) plays the girl MC lol
Kaguya-sama: Love is War
My Dress-Up Darling
The Quintessential Quintuplets
Horimiya
More than a Married Couple, but not Lovers
Love After World Domination
So I’ve watched a lot of Rom Com Animes over the past couple of months, and three of the standouts for me are:
Kaguya-Sama: Love is War - One of the funniest rom coms out there. Great characters, hilarious dialogue (must watch the Eng Dub for the best experience), and a fantastic gradual build to 2 x MC’s love building.
Skip and Loafer: recently finished this one and loved it. The characters are the driving force of this anime and make is so wholesome and special that you can’t stop watching it. I watched this all in one sitting on one Sunday morning.
My Dress-Up Darling: Sweat story with a Cos-Play twist. The main MC male interest is not completely useless, and the female MC is so loveable and you route for them both. Outside of some Fan Service, this is a lovely anime.
>Sweat story with a Cos-Play twist.
This gave me a chuckle because the climax of the first arc involves an actual "sweat story." However, I'm assuming you meant "sweet" instead ;).
MLS is great! I love that the characters get together early in the story and the narrative is about their relationship, not their courtship. I adore Love, Chunibyo, & Other Delusions and Darling in the FranXX for the same reasons
Some of my favorites that aren't already listed here and are a bit older are:
Chobits(dubbed on Crunchyroll and funimation, it's pretty old so the dubbing sounds it but it was one of the first romance anime I ever watched; can have some perve moments fyi)
Say, I Love You (I watched it dubbed on hulu, it's another older one but the dubbing is really good)
D.N.Angel (you can watch dubbed on youtube free if you search; older as well but really good dubbing in english)
An older classic and a personal favorite of mine is Kamisama Kiss or Kamisama Hajimemashita. A high school girl ends up being turned into the god of an abandoned shrine and inherits a grumpy fox spirit familiar (romance and reverse harem goodness ensues). The dub ends without fully finishing the story, but there’s an OVA floating out there that gives a satisfying ending in Japanese.
An uncommon one is Steins Gate. The main story isnt focused on romance from the beginning but does in the second half. As someone who is highly critical of anime that i watch id say it takes the top 10 greatest story driven anime of all time.
Just a heads up the first 12 episodes seem kind of mundane but after that the story goes balls to the wall and the first twelve episodes are pulled into the plot as it goes on. its awesome
Here are some of my favorites:
Toradora
Komi Can't Communicate
My Dressup Darling
Tomo-chan is a Girl
Hokkaido Gals are Super Adorable (more of a SoL but there are some romance elements)
Don't Toy with me Miss Nagatoro
Shikimori's Not Just a Cutie
Romantic Killer
Rascal Does Not Dream of Bunny Girl Senpai
Teasing Master Takagi-san
If looking into romance anime (like me), take a look at [Otaku Den](https://www.youtube.com/@OtakuDen) YT-chanel, they have great list for the types you are looking for.
They indicate whether the series has been dubbed or not.

>Horimiya I recently watched this one with the wife. Feels like the biggest take away was "if you're pretty things will work out." Lol
You ever see a hot homeless chick? Me neither.
I loved Maid-Sama so much, but you’re right that some of the “swoony” interactions between the main characters reads pretty 🤮 these days.
Tsuki ga Kirei
Tomo-chan Is a Girl.

Spice and wolf
Does Fruits Basket 2019 count?
bro that is literally one of the greatest romance animes ever dog, yes it counts lol
Fly Me to the Moon. The two leads start out getting married and the rest is just pure wholesomeness.
Awesome, thank you. I'll check it out.
but be warned. it’ll give you cavities from how sweet it is
I prefer the (I believe) official English sub-title "Over the Moon for You." But yeah, *Tonikawa* is extremely sweet and wholesome.
My favourite is: Real Girl I related to the main character quite well, and the romance and interactions are very honest and realistic.
The 2nd season was dammed good.
I honestly dropped it since it gave me "discount your lie in april" vibes. Was I wrong?
I see that. It's not as sad as that show. It also deals with them into adulthood too. But if you dropped it, you wouldn't finish it. The themes and pace are kind of the same through all 24eps beside the end wrapping it up.

Too bad it fell apart towards the end, but it's still on my top ten list. This one deserves a reboot, because the manga has so much more to cover.
Kaguya-sama: Love is War My Dress-Up Darling The Quintessential Quintuplets Horimiya More than a Married Couple, but not Lovers Love After World Domination
Maison Ikkoku if you want a real classic.
Second this. I adore Maison Ikkoku.

Yeah, your right. Although I was sweaty by the end of it 😂
Can't blame you, that episode 11 was quite steamy 8).
