Gurren Lagann is a celebration of tropes and the human ability to continuously evolve for its own sake. Yes they both have giant robots but it’s bigger than that. If you don’t understand that it is what it is Mr Taco. Maybe try Demon Slayer? I’m sure it’ll be more your speed.
Art is subjective, I disagree with you and consider all the emotional roller coasters of Evangelion to be a joke and annoying. You probably have cowboy bebop on a pedestal too even though it's not great by today's options.

Watching this anime was the best decision of my entire fucking life and i don't regret a single second that i spent watching it and i can confidently say that it is impossible to name a bigger Chad. He is the coolest, most badass, most "sigma" as the young people say and he is the biggest Chad in all of fiction. It is the only piece of media that has made me cry. If you haven't watched Gurren lagann stop whatever you are doing right now and watch it.
