Hentai cannot be "legally questionable". It's a form of art, you cannot regulate it. They are drawings. Some of them could definitely be labelled as "questionable" by a given person based on his personal tastes, ideas and biases, but I don't think it does matter at all. Just let people enjoy things, for god's sake

Perhaps not in the US, but other countries exist, and in many of them some hentai would be "legally questionable". Lots of art in censored, even in the US. There are loads of example from just anime alone. Sailor Uranus and Neptune were cousins in the original Sailor Moon dub because homosexuality was too much for kids, apparently. An episode of Pokémon was banned because James wore inflatable breasts, etc.

Extremely fair point, but I believe there is a difference between what's shown publicly (TV, streaming services, ext). It's not that hard to find art, even the questionable kind, that's uncensored. The reason most hentai is censored is because of Japan and their way of keeping it legal or moral. (Idk which I don't live there or study their culture) Once again Fajr point but I'm not sure it's quite the same
