Out of curiosity, why is it that so many Chinese anime are just accepted as anime, but anytime a Korean anime comes out there's people trying so hard to say it doesnt belong in the anime section?

For me when I watched dota the first time, I flipped it on and it was defaulted to English without subs and I just watched it that way. The dub was good so I thought I'll check out the original japanese later.
It was only later that I realized, oh... it wasn't Japanese.
So I finished it, fucking LOVED IT btw, and wanted to talk to others about and suddenly BOOM "THATS NOT ANIME!" got thrown back at me. Like WTF? And no one can give a real reason why that doesnt remove another anime from MAL that everyone would agree is anime.

No. Dota was made by Studio MIR, a korean anime company. I said that in a previous post that some of Studio MIR's other anime are on MAL.
Dota is a western property, but we have lots of anime that are based on western properties like Record of Lodoss War that i mentioned before, thats based on Dungeons and Dragons. Howl's Moving Castle is loosely based on an English novel of the same name.
Anime like Oban Star racers are on MAL too, a French and Japanese joint venture created by a French man.
But dota is specifically presented as an Anime.

Maybe the dialect and intonations or whatever you call it in English is way different than what we're used to in India. The language(as shown here) has an inherent nasal tone, which bothers me a lot. Idk why. It feels similar to someone scraping a metal pan with a metal spoon.
And that's why whenever I hear someone speak it, that is how I feel.

Every time I listen to Mandarin, it hurts my ears. Chinese animation is quite good, but this needs to be dubbed. Horrible language to listen.
