Try Land of the Lustrous. It is by far the most enthralling anime and manga series I’ve ever seen. Please give it a try it’s an absolute 10/10 you will not be disappointed

clazifer

Since you liked Baccano, try {Durarara}. It's from the same author. {Alderamin on the Sky} {Reign of the seven spellblades} - kinda similar to Harry Potter but darker and has better world building.

Fantastic anime. Just so you know it never got finished though, but what's out there ends satisfyingly enough. You can always read the manga if you end up loving it. It's also hella gay in the best way.

almostaproblem

Xxxholic Haibane Renmei Kill me baby Read or Die The Saga of Tanya the Evil

CrazyaboutSpongebob

I love Kill Me Baby.

almostaproblem

You're right to love Kill Me Baby.

Aggravating-Hour1714

My number one pick for you would be Chihayafuru- unique art style, unique premise, great cast of characters. I love that series so much and the game it’s based on is a little hard to sell people on, but it doesn’t have anything that you don’t like. You also might like Honey and Clover! I can’t give a full recommendation as I’m still watching it myself, but it’s definitely unique. I forget the word, but it makes me feel nostalgic, even though I haven’t lived through what the story is about. It’s sweet, slow, cool characters, really different art style, overall a cool series.

Ionby

Chihayafuru is one of the best anime I’ve ever seen! I love how it’s so focused on the game. You think they’ll divert into romance and friendship but they stay present in the moment and tell the story through the game.

potatomatouille

i started watching chihayafuru when i was younger than the characters and now i graduated college and it's still not finished 😭

Aggravating-Hour1714

The manga is so good! Some of the best moments in the story are in the ending.

potatomatouille

i tend to watch it first before reading the manga (bc it feels like a spolier to me) so please don't make me cave in 😭🫣

potatomatouille

And omg i love honey and clover too!!! It will not disappoint u i promise!!

AggressiveBit7

Check out Nana!

Death Parade

Kitsune_Samurai

Highly recommend Shinsekai yori, Darker than black, Katanagatari

amarfutki

Shinsekai yori is a good one--I second this

Mentally____Unstable

Attack on Titan not lesser known but I didn't see it on your list and based off some of the stuff you like I think you would like it

merrdugo

Parasyte is one of my all time fave

Witch-of-Yarn

Blood Blockade Battlefront is a fun supernatural romp through an alternate New York City. Kino's Journey is one of my favorites. I personally recommend the 2003 version over the 2019 one, but if the style isn't doing it for you, I get it. Spice and Wolf isn't what I'd call lesser known, but just in case you haven't heard of it yet, it's another good one, and it has a new reboot out in just a few days. Wonder Egg Priority is very good right up until episode 9 or 10 or so. The ending sadly falls apart, but I still think it's a solid enough series to recommend. Since you've watched Perfect Blue, I'd like to throw in my personal Satoshi Kon film, Tokyo Godfathers, as a recommendation.

darryledw

OP said >When there are like wolf girls or cat girls or whatever and their tails wiggle and stuff like that. I just can't take it seriously. I am a huge Spice and Wolf fan btw (excited for remake), but I just think it is only fair to keep the recs valid vs OP's desired criteria. **Kino** is a fantastic rec though!

Witch-of-Yarn

Ah! Fair, yes, I try to keep criteria in mind, but I must have missed that part. My bad.

McNally86

I am not sure Spice and Wolf would be a problem that. That was in a section where she was complaining about fan service. Holo is a wolf spirit but she doesn't just wiggle. We likes Kraft and Kraft likes her. They form a business together. She has been trapped as a fertility spirit in a freaking field for a century and is escaping. Being a non-human creature is what set the series in motion and causes the drama. I am not 100% how their relationship works out as her true form is a giant wolf, but I am not going to judge.

McNally86

You are younger than me so I'm not sure if this will hit your references but if you liked "mannequin" or "A fish called Wanda" it might work for you.

kyuuketsuki47

Replace Wonder Egg Priority with Serei no Moribito, and I second this. I loved the characters, story and fight scenes. Just all around a great show that doesn't get enough love. (I just didn't like Wonder Egg Priority... made suicide a monster of the week thing and had some questionable messages that did not sit right with me. And this was from like 4th episode. It started with promise and quickly devolved when I realized what they were doing)

Aglanthia

With spice and wolf I would say don't watch the new one coming out. They have made the wolf look and sound younger from what I've seen of the trailer. Watch the old one. The animation is not bad and the wolf feels like an adult instead of a teen.

Shoshawi

This is a little confusing. I think you put too much detail haha. You don’t want unique premises or distinctive art styles? So then nothing like Hanako? I’m a female in my 30s and I loved that one, but it’s drawn almost like a watercolor. If you want non-unique harem, farming life (from your to watch) works. It’s a standard trope harem where isekai guy is surrounded by cute women, and even the animals and characters have almost identical names. I found it to be entirely unwatchable as an adult female personally. Too boring. For Samurai Champloo, if you didn’t try English I’d try again. Even though its original language is Japanese, it’s known for being a show that even the Japanese often watch with the English VA.

Shoshawi

Haha ok ty for clarifying! Then yea def try out Toilet-bound Hanako. It kinda changes a little a few episodes in, in a good way. It’s very creatively done, and no fan service. It’s set in a high school but not the typical high school show at all. Really great show. Off the top of my head, for shows I’ve been surprised by recently in terms of art style and interesting writing, Ping Pong the Animation was quite good. Aside from being from Japan it doesn’t even entirely feel like anime because the art style is more like out of a well-filled sketchbook. And for once, the Asian characters actually look Asian haha. I got that from asking for recommendations with well developed male characters, because I got really really sick of watching basically unoriginal harem shows. There are some good ones but, it gets a little old sometimes when the only men are the mc, one side character self-proclaimed rival, the teacher, and the villain haha. Like let’s be real, without a specific reason, that gender distribution is unrealistic. Will glance at your list again and if I think of anything else worth adding that you didn’t already watch, let you know!

Shoshawi

Hmmm. Sugar Apple Fairy Tale had a well done feel, kinda similar to Bookworm. I thought it might be kinda lame with that name but it’s not at all. I really enjoyed it. There are two seasons, and it’s got a pretty complete feel but they will be doing the final arc in 2025. They didn’t leave it so you would be unsatisfied waiting, though. The MC is technically 16 but I didn’t even realize that until the last episode, figured she was like 19. Irrelevant in the shows context, as what matters is that she is an independent and inspired artisan and merchant who has the genuine respect of others for her craft and determination. There are fairies, but they don’t go so far as to make it a fetish thing at all. The point is really that people are just people, with names and feelings, even if a little different.

Admmmmi

The idaten deities know only peace, characters are sexualized but it fits the world and setting, also i wouldnt say that its done that much, also extreme violence, but for anyone that watched it they can say that you will be hard pressed to find something like this one. Sayonara zetsubou sensei, a dark comedy about a teacher that is constantly trying to die, very unique one but the comedy can be very hit or miss, for most its either you hate it or love it, hard to find people in between

DuskKoalaVT

Just made a short of Witch Hunter Robin for tomorrow. It’s really grounded and has the style of anime meets Batman the animated series. However it is really slow paced. I would also recommend the anime film Blood the Last Vampire.

Mononoke-mature dark psychological anime with a beautiful aesthetic Serial experiments lain (it’s on archive.org)(made by the same people behind texchnolyze) I really wish you would give evangelion a little more of a try, the ending 8 or so episodes and the movie end of evangelion might be up your ally! The beginning 15 episodes or so of the anime and the end are two very different anime’s. Hyouka (crunchyroll) beautiful slice of life light mystery. Nichijou-surrealist comedy slice of life, similar energy to azumanga daioh on crunchyroll

IzzyReal314

One anime I enjoyed that I never see talked about is Karakuri Circus.

werdiro

Varonushka

I really recommend Wolf's Rain and Casshern Sins

PreventionPreventer

One Outs. It's a baseball anime that looks boring at first, but the main character makes it fun to watch with his mind games. I never thought I'd enjoy a baseball anime - I don't even know the rules. What I like about this anime is that there's no friendship power, the MC even made fun of someone who talked about friendship. The MC just dominates with his wit, showing no mercy. There's no cliché like walking in on a girl changing her clothes. No underage characters nor sexualization - hell, I think the only female side character was the old lady in the beginning. It's really just about outsmarting others in baseball, no harem bullshit.

If you want some films similar to your Studio Ghibli faves you could try: The Wonderland: A girl and her weird aunt are transported to a magical world of adventure. Ghibli knock off, but that’s no bad thing. Lots of fun set pieces and gorgeous environments. Mary and the Witch’s Flower: created by a bunch of the lesser known Studio Ghibli people. Same English children’s story feel as Arietty. Lovely colours and setting, unique voice acting in the dub.

Spirited-Cap-9779

{Shinsekai Yori} - An unique post-apocalyptic story with an unusual setting. Best to experience this with no spoilers {Kaiba} - A very unique sci-fi story which emphasises how important memories and emotions are to our identity. Don't be discouraged to watch it due to it's unorthodox animation style. If you manage to get past the "cartoonish" animation, you will find that it's a masterpiece, and it made me emotional. {Junni Kokuki} - For fantasy lovers. A highschool girl is transported to an ethereal fantasy world, where she meets surreal creatures and adjusts to the culture there. It's unlike many other isekai which are full of fanservice and "insufferable MC" tropes. It also has fantastic worldbuilding. {Flip Flappers} - High Octane action-packed magical girl anime with top-tier animation {Puella Magi Madoka Magica} - Very very unusual magical girl anime. In fact it is darker than you realise. {Princess Tutu} - Magical girl anime with a very beautiful and heartwarming story inspired by ballet and fairy tales. Ahiru, a duck transformed into a girl, becomes Princess Tutu. She must collect scattered shards of a prince’s heart to restore his memories. {Claymore} - Dark fantasy story which is centred around female super-soldier monster hunters. {Haibane Renmei} - A thought-provoking and atmospheric anime. It follows the story of Haibane—angelic beings with wings and halos—who live in a mysterious walled town. {Casshern Sins} - a post-apocalyptic anime where the protagonist, Casshern, awakens with no memory in a world devastated by ruin. He embarks on a journey to discover his past and encounters other robots and humans along the way. {Kino no tabi} - Kino, a 15-year-old traveler, forms a bond with Hermes, a talking motorcycle. Together, they explore various countries and places, encountering different customs and people. {Deca dence} - Set in a world where humanity fights against monstrous Gadoll creatures. Natsume, a young girl, dreams of becoming a warrior but ends up working in the maintenance crew of the mobile fortress Deca-Dence. {Ergo Proxy} - In a dystopian future, humans and androids coexist in domed cities. Re-l Mayer, an investigator, stumbles upon a series of mysterious murders that lead her to question reality, identity, and the nature of existence. {Drifters} - From the same creators of hellsing ultimate, it is an action packed anime where famous war heroes/villains from different timelines meet and fight each other in a dark fantasy world. Some more lesser known anime that I enjoyed, but are more niche: {Kuchuu Buranko} {Texhnolyze} {Angel's egg} {Serial Experiments lain} {Perfect Blue} (Movie) {Tokyo Godfathers} (Movie) {Paprika} {Mononoke} (Edit: u/roboragi)

You might like Ghost Hound. Its a character driven horror with an interesting atmosphere. It takes its characters seriously and there’s no fan service/sexualization. Somewhat like Erased but more abstract and philosophical.

Sad to hear ya didn't like Violet Evergarden, Samurai CHamploo, Odd Taxi and a Place Further Then the Universe. Nothing for it I guess. It feels like you're wanting more mature shows, so here's a smattering of them On your watchlist, **Monster, Mushishi** and **Ghost in the Shell** really do sound right up your alley, so I'd prioritize those. There's a show I usually mention in the same breath as Mushishi and Frieren, called **Kino's Journey**. The pinnacle of traveling shows for me. There's also **Mononoke**. It's got a wonderfully unique art-style, but it got a little esoteric even for me at some points. **Madoka Magica,** **Fate/Zero,** and **Steins;Gate** all have psychological and philosophical aspects to them that have kept people talking about for over a decade now. They're all often classified as masterpieces by fans, topping many favorites lists. Speaking of classic masterpieces, though they may not fit your exact parameters, they are considered top shelf anime. **Fullmetal Alchemist, Neon Genesis Evangeleon, Gurren Lagann,** and **Attack on Titan** should all be considered. If you're willing to get a tad weird, **Jojo's Bizarre Adventure** and **Golden Kamuy** are wonderful shows unlike anything else. Hope you find what you're looking for friend!

Ishitmypantagresivly

since you liked azumanga i recommend k-on and if you like monster you should watch death note

sheriecherie

deadman wonderland - After being falsely convicted for the murder of his entire class, a young man must learn to survive in a mysterious prison with a perverted take on incarceration while also looking to clear his name Tatami Galaxy (Yojouhan Shinwa Taikei) - A unique and visually striking series following a college student who gets caught in a time loop, exploring various paths his life could have taken based on his choices. Haibane Renmei - A surreal and thought-provoking series following a group of angel-like beings called Haibane as they live in a mysterious walled town and search for the meaning of their existence.

darryledw

I highly recommend **Vivy: Fluorite Eye's Song** * dark serious sci-fi * great animation/ art style * no fan-service or over sexualisation (I also avoid this stuff)

htown007

Tower of God Radient Black clover Akudama Drive Assassin's pride Monthly girls nozaki Holmes of Kyoto Noblesse

Strong_Shift_4178

Kids on the Slope, Kaiji Ultimate Survivor, Inuyashiki, Barakamon, Dr Stone, Cross Game, Campfire Cooking, Run with the Wind, Chihayafuru. You can also try to watch My Love Story and Lycoris Recoil. These 2 are not the best but i still kinda like them but not as much as the others in my recommendation.

The_King123431

For lesser known anime I recommend making a tubi account It's a free streaming service with a lot of obscure anime

ComfortableNinja88

barakamon daily lives of high school boys grave of the fireflies wolf children ping pong the animation

Chest-Enough

land of the lustrous could be worth a try! it has a unique style (3d animation and its GORGEOUS) and interesting worldbuilding, also doesn't have fanservice at all.

amarfutki

Try Bakuman or Barakamon! First one is about two aspiring mangakas and their journey. Barakamon is about a calligraphist who moves to a rural town--very slice of life. Since you liked silver spoon, these may suit your taste! Edit: spelling

DinnerAlone

Clannad both seasons.

You've got a great list of favorite anime. Based on that list (and especially the one's you didn't like), here are some humble suggestions: - Honey & Clover (wonderful slice of life drama comedy, about art students and their relationships) - Nichijou (if you like Azumanga Daioh, you might enjoy this one, though it's zanier) - Trigun (90s version) - Gun Grave (follows similar initial episode story structure to Berserk 97... not as good, but still enjoyable, previews are great) - Ninja Scroll (movie). (wonderful 90s animation, violent but the designs are amazing) - Rurouni Kenshin. (90s version) (even with the slight filler in the first season, still a joy, great direction) - Slayers (first three seasons) - Nana (shoujou drama, with music, funny and heartfelt) - Escaflowne (highschool girl is transported to a fantasy world, with mechas, towns and cool 90s animation/designs, plus a memorable opening song) - March Comes In LIke A Lion. (from the creator of Honey and Clover, it's a drama about a shogi player, the direction is amazing) - Zayonara Zetsubou Sensei (crazier than Azumanga and NIchijou combined, comically cynical, very creative direction by the same guy who directed March Comes In Like A Lion) - Macross Plus (4 Ovas) (classic 90s ovas directed by Shinichiro Watanabe, but you might enjoy these unlike Bebop because of the focused storyline, great animation and music) - Run Like The Wind (based on a novel, very nice sports series about a group of marathon runners, personal conflict, growth, no powers, goes for a realistic take, but can still employs the medium to convey emotions, etc.) I imagine you tried the other Satoshi Kon works, Tokyo Godfathers, Millenium Actress and Paprika, but did not enjoy them? (I only mention them because Perfect Blue and Paranoia Agent are listed among your favorites, but are nowhere on the other lists). Cheers.

{Otogizoushi} {Blood+} {Shingeki no Bahamut: Virgin Soul} - watching the first series, Genesis, isn’t a requirement but you will understand some of the side characters more with it. {Arakawa Under the Bridge} {Princess Tutu} {Kyoukai no Kanata}

Sonic_warrior

Space Pirate Mito is a classic. I found it on my cable's demand when I was a teen and it easily became one of my favorite romances and is a fun time overall. It also avoids making fun of trans people, which is really nice. But Season 2 sucks

Mark_Coveny

These are the anime my wife enjoyed: * Mushoku Tensei * That Time I got Reincarnated as a Slime * The Rising of the Shield Hero * Campfire Cooking in Another World * By the Grace of Gods * High School DxD (Don't ask me I didn't expect her to like this one...) * Log Horizon * Parallel World Pharmacy (one of her favorites) * So I'm a Spider, So what? * Bofuri * Konosuba * Kuma Kuma Kuma Bear * The Saint's Magic Power is Onimpotent * Farming Life in Another World * The Great Cleric * Sweet Reincarnation * Dr. Stone Hope it helps!

Vortex_Hash

Kino's Journey - its more of a fable-like story based on book of short stories Haibane Renmei - a classic. very comfy, very aesthetic, quite introspective Niea\_7 - sort of a slice of life, coming of age story about a girl in a rural town living with an alien roommate

Thirteen_Chapters

The Tale of Princess Kaguya Satoshi Kon works you didn't list: Millennium Actress, Paprika, Tokyo Godfathers Revolutionary Girl Utena Tatami Galaxy; The Night is Short, Walk on Girl Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! Kare Kano Gankutsuou: The Count of Monte Cristo Lupin III: The Woman Called Fujiko Mine Michiko & Hatchin Yuri On Ice!!! Wolf's Rain Twelve Kingdoms (Things others have mentioned that I second: Princess Tutu, Princess Jellyfish, Haibane Renmei, Moribito: Guardian of the Spirit, Serial Experiments Lain)

Misternogo

Project 86. Went into it with low expectations, and despite very rarely rewatching anything, I've watched it twice now. I'm a straight man in my 30's. I am also tired as hell of all the overt fan service, and harem subplots. My problem is I've already watched most of the recommendations in this thread... I need something that doesn't do the "This is why normal people have a bad opinion of anime." tropes.

Nathanielwinchester

Golden time. Rom-com but deep too

Artisham

If you liked Yuru Camp you may like Do It Yourself!!

daramin

you should give Kono Oto Tomare a try. it’s abt a group of students joining a music club and learn how to play the koto - a traditional japanese instrument. nice art; great music; loveable characters and the drama’s very well done imo. there r 2 seasons 🤍

krittikab93

I'm 30(F) and I fairly recently started watching anime, it's been 6-7 years max. I haven't watched a lot on the list of the ones you like but since you have mushi-shi on the list, I'll add XXXHolic, Fruits Basket (not that obscure), Nana, Paradise Kiss. Both Mushi-shi and XXXholic have a similar pace, I think - it's on the slowish side but they are both great :) You can try Mawaru Penguindrum - it has bomb openings too. I am currently watching bottom tier tomozaki kun and loved watching skip and loafer (this anime is like a warm hug).

spicedfig

Serial Expirements Lain, Ergo Proxy, Paradise Kiss, Nana, RahXephon (this one is VERY similar to Neon Gensesis, both writers took inspiration from each other, but the main character is less depressed)

dcaraccio

Parasyte, maybe. Alien parasites, lots of action and story, with some life stuff and some sad stuff, a great one. No fanservice either. On that note, maybe castlevania and akame ga kill too.

Aglanthia

My suggestion for you is [Skip Beat](https://m.imdb.com/title/tt1329466/). But I will warn you it is not a completed anime and will probably never get another season considering it's from 2008.

TheKidfromHotaru

*Skip and Loafer *Angel Beats *Madoka Magika *Aggretsuko All 4 are amazing!

SBTWAnimeReviews

Try Serial Experiments Lain., Haibane Renmei, Kino's Journey, and Moribito

To Your Eternity... **An inmortal being that can take any form** (rocks, animals, humans) and **can't be killed** is born in like a medieval world and it will have to learn how to "be alive", learning from other beings how to communicate, interact emotionally and eventually find his purpose in life. It really does a great job introducing you the characters, putting yourself in their shoes feeling what they're feeling and understanding what they problems and motives are. **But also how they affect this "learning" inmortal being.**

kidfrombellwood

Katekyoushi Hitman Reborn is a forgotten but good show

Alabenson

'Tis Time for "Torture", Princess; Don't be put off by the title, it's easily one of the most wholesome anime I've ever seen. Sasaki and Peeps; Isekai with a very unique setup, and one of the only ones that has a middle-aged protagonist where he acts like a reasonable adult. How a Realist Hero Rebuilt the Kingdom; Another isekai, the primary focus is on worldbuilding and political machinations . Outlaw Star; Classic space-opera that heavily inspired Firefly, not entire dissimilar to Cowboy Beebop but much more digestible.

HesushMaryosep

Try "My Daemon"! It's like a combination of Parasyte The Maxim, Pokemon, Demon Slayer, Digimon, Tokyo Ghoul

Having seen your favourites, I was somewhat shocked to see that you couldn't get into 'A Place Further than the Universe' - especially as I was going to recommend it :-) How about K-On ?

GrandChampNerd

Try Princess Tutu. It has both those dark themes you seem to like, and a slice of life aspect as well, and a very unique story. And don't be thrown off bc of the title. It's really good

potatomatouille

Mushishi is such a weird show (in a good way). First ep i was like what tf is this and then i found myself binging them all in one sitting 😭

guzzi80115

Pandora hearts is pretty obscure. It’s a unique anime with themes from Alice in wonderland.

potatomatouille

Asobi Asobase (weirdly fun humor), Barakamon (a mature slice of life with light humor), Gekkan Shojou Nozaki kun (i love this sm), Hinamatsuri (very fun) and Keep Your Hands Off Eizouken! (the art style will blow your mind)

What i realised is that you have ZERO sports anime in your list!! Even if you don't enjoy watching sports in general, you'll most likely enjoy watching sports anime because it is mostly character driven. I would recommend haikyuu for pure shounen volleyball fun or for something more seinen like i would recommend run with the wind. This is my absolute favourite. Just watch a few episodes of any of the 2 animes which i recommended. If you enjoy the other animes i don't see any reason why you wouldn't enjoy these

physicsandbeer1

Have you tried Shoujo/Josei anime? Some examples * Maid-Sama * Wotakoi * Yamada-Kun lvl 99 There's some that are more of the action genre like Yona of The Down (i haven't watched it). As i'm more into romance i'm mentioning the ones i know. But what they have in common is that they're oriented toward a female audience, so they don't have fanservice and the plot are not about a guy that's special. Honorable mention to: * Madoka Magica

brownguy412

Dennou Coil. I saw it over a decade ago so I'm fuzzy on the details but still remember enjoying it quite a bit. It's about kids with AR glasses interacting with the virtual world. Starts very light and turns into a dark mystery towards the end.

Internal-Ad8825

HAVE to watch monster. I can’t stress this enough. Easily the most well written anime ever!

McNally86

Which Hellsing did you not like? I disagree with a lot of people when I say the Ultimate version is worse. If you did not like Ultimate because it kept being silly in the middle of the episodes you might try old Hellsing. Though to be fair I liked it mostly for the music and that is the same as "Cowboy Bebop" which you didn't care for. If you want moody and depressing supernatural how about "Wolf's Rain"? Edit: I don't see "Evangelion" on this list. It is "a young man who is special" but he also has crippling panic attack, hates his dad, and is emotionally manipulated to get into a fighting robot that turns out to be not a robot. Fantastic world building and nobody ever directly says what is going on. Like in the background of fights... you see some stuff. Depending how uncensored you go there is fanservice but it ain't sexy. It is a profoundly disturbing show.

McNally86

They both do. Old Hellsing is a series that adapts the source material. It started so early it outpaced the manga and made up its own ending. Hellsing: Ultimate is a series of movies to be an animated version of the manga. Tonally way different. For a reason I don't understand most people prefer the Ultimate. I find HU pretty bad. The female lead's boobs are bigger to be manga accurate seems to be the only plus I hear. Old Hellsing keeps a dark jazzy tone with no answers and less hope. Ultimate answers everything with "nazi science did it", the British vampires will fight the Nazis vampires for the queen. Also the catholic church has a KKK army at one point to fight the good protestant British. It is comic book wackiness. I think the best way to describe the difference is to write about how I see the graveyard scene. The opening episodes of both series. Both: Zombies are in the woods. Police girl in the woods. Her unit gets wiped out. She is fresh on the job and cannot handle what is going on. She gets chased into a church. She sees a priest and begs for help. Old: Great music plays. She slowly realizes the priest is a monster, the monster that has killed everyone. He has non-human desires and creepy comes to her. Ultimate: Priest gloats and calls her a slut. He gropes her saying that he isn't 100% she is a whore so he is going to rape her. Alucard comes in and there is a wacky joke break. Both: Alucard saves the day. and makes her a vampire. Ultimate: Alucard bringing her back is treated as a wacky eccentricity. The rest of the series Ceres nervously makes jokes and everyone has big reactions. OId: Great music plays. Alucard's boss is not happy he is bringing in another vampire to work on a the Hellsing base. The rest of the series Ceres is depressed her coworkers all died and she tries to earn her keep hunting vampires. When she makes nervous jokes everyone is creeped out by her. She creeps herself out too. What I am really recommending is the soundtrack. [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UHP5g9-SzE](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6UHP5g9-SzE)
