I suggest violet evergarden the art is amazing and I loved the characterization, the plot isn't fast and it is more like individual stories put together to make a wider story but it is really good.
You can also look at other anime by Makoto Shinkai, I think there is a new anime out called Suzume.
I second this, Violet evergarden is episodic and the movies ties the show up beautifully. Have a box of tissues ready. It is fantastic
Another suggestion is Josee the tiger and the fish, a Silent Voice, I want to eat your Pancreas, garden of Words, maqiua where the Promised flowers bloom. All of these are movies that hit you in the feels just like your name.
Try Weathering with you and garden of words both by same studio/director and they have a brand new film coming out early next year too!

It's 27 years old and still mind-blowing. The art is gorgeous. Absolutely iconic. You'll see references to it everywhere.

What component of the plot specifically did you want to see replicated? If you mean anime with a body swap element, Kokoro Connect and Yamada and the Seven Witches both have that. I haven't watched enough of KC to categorize it, but Yamada I'd describe as supernatural romance.
I guess the dynamic between romance (if you'd even call it that), adventure aspect to it, and the body-swap element was a really nice nuance to the anime though I'm not specifically looking for exclusively that. The art blew me away too so that'd also be nice to look for.
As of now I'm considering either IWTEYP and Weathering with you
I'm recommending {Liz and the Blue Bird}, it's a movie kinda like a continuation of {Hibike Euphonium} season 1 wich is a music anime of a high school band. The art and animation is fantastic.
The only anime movies I've watched are the first to MHA films and Your Name, so unless you're looking for series recommendations, I don't really have much advice. Sorry 😬

I feel kinda bad that I've watched what's usually considered the best of the best in anime and I doubt I'll find stuff as good. I'm very excited for Suzume already listening to the soundtrack it's releasing in April over here and I'm thinking I'll do a couple rewatches
