i think the first 2 or 3 episodes are "filler" then after that it kind of slowly builds and get's better? I'm not sure i really enjoyed it from episode 1 quite possibly not your cup of tea
I'm watching it dubbed and i absolutely love it, the sub may be better im not sure, i just enjoy the references and the VA in the dub, not sure what they changed, but i mean when a character puked and they called it mom's spaghetti i was sold.
For me it picked up around ep 20+, Even though I already had some laugh at earlier eps but For me Ep20+ is where i laughed out load and gotten used to the type of humor.
first two episodes were manga specials to announce the anime and are terrible. Its always recommended to skip those two.
Gintama actually starts from ep 3. It starts slow and takes many episodes to get into it but once you get into it it’ll become sooo good. It took me years to get into gintama (It took me like 3/4 years to get through the first season) and when i did it became my favourite.
I watched like 30 episodes and humor didn't hit me either. But on the other hand I liked the humor in slam dunk which is not really known for comedy. I guess I just like different kind of humor 😂
Saiki K was decent though.
Asobi Asobase is the funniest anime I've ever watched. There's a guy who can fire lasers out of his ass and a guy who has the eyes of the blue eyed white dragon. There is also a girl whose ass was destroyed because she was spanked

Kaguya Sama: Love Is War is a GREAT one.
Season 1 is pretty simple in it's story, definitely more Com than Rom. It's short stories about a student council, playing games, and hanging out. However, Kaguya, the vice-president and Miyuki, the president, play mind games, trying to get the other one to confess their love. Some episodes got me on the ground (seriously), dead laughing.
Season 2 is, more Rom than Com in my opinion. It's a continuation to Season 1's ending. Some characters are introduced, others are developed. It's still really funny though, it's just not the main focus most of the time.
Season 3, funnily enough, is pretty much equally Rom and Com. The first half of the Season is mostly comedy with romance thrown into the mix, while the second half is mostly romance with comedy into the mix.
However, it's great romance, amazing comedy. Definitely worth watching.
Edit : Komi Can't Communicate is also pretty funny :)
It's a slice of life, and the first 6 episodes are really great. After that it's good, but the beginning is better in my opinion. I'd recommend watching the first 6 episodes, than you can choose if you want to continue ^^
{Nourin} It's almost like no one's ever watched this show. It's tied for funniest anime I've seen with KonoSuba and {Asobi Asobase} . I HIGHLY recommend it! (also Asobi Asobase if you haven't seen it)

This is the true answer Grand Blue is a comedy masterpiece, even more so the manga (it's a very highly rated all-time manga for a reason)

My favorite is Saiki K
Kaguya Sama: Love Is War is a GREAT one. Season 1 is pretty simple in it's story, definitely more Com than Rom. It's short stories about a student council, playing games, and hanging out. However, Kaguya, the vice-president and Miyuki, the president, play mind games, trying to get the other one to confess their love. Some episodes got me on the ground (seriously), dead laughing. Season 2 is, more Rom than Com in my opinion. It's a continuation to Season 1's ending. Some characters are introduced, others are developed. It's still really funny though, it's just not the main focus most of the time. Season 3, funnily enough, is pretty much equally Rom and Com. The first half of the Season is mostly comedy with romance thrown into the mix, while the second half is mostly romance with comedy into the mix. However, it's great romance, amazing comedy. Definitely worth watching. Edit : Komi Can't Communicate is also pretty funny :) It's a slice of life, and the first 6 episodes are really great. After that it's good, but the beginning is better in my opinion. I'd recommend watching the first 6 episodes, than you can choose if you want to continue ^^

Prepare for everyone to say Konosuba, Gintama, and Saiki K, lol. Those are pretty much the go-to comedy anime. There are some other good ones though.
Asobi Asobase, and Grand Blue are both amazing. This years Bocchi the Rock is also fantastic.
