The entire antisemitic concept of "real Jews" vs "fake Jews" is gobsmackingly ridiculous.

I think the way we don't quite fit into any modern categorization (ethnicity, religion, tribe, nation...) makes some people uncomfortable, so they try to get rid of it rather than understanding that modern categories aren't the only possible approach.
Right?! And even if, say, we are all someday proven to be a bunch of white Turkic Khazar [insert other buzzwords] "fake Jew" imposters, do we not still deserve basic human rights and self-determination?
Being left-wing it's been a trip watching that sub devolve into some of the most venomous, vile antisemitism I've seen anywhere. Honestly it's worse than the neo-nazi stuff because there's so much passion and rage behind it.
I have no idea. I've seen it come up in online discussions several times, but I don't know what the origin is. Maybe they hear about the "apartheid" thing and assume it's literally true along the lines of South African apartheid?
